Jalapeño cheddar bagel with veggie cream cheese

I get the same thing every time I come here - the jalapeño cheddar bagel with veggie cream cheese. All those additions in the cream cheese are literally perfect, every single bite is amazing.

Always 5 stars. Since I started going 15 years ago. I love the Bagelry. This has been one of my go to menu combos for years. "Hum and eggs" which is their hummus and egg salad. Usually it comes one kind on each half, but I like to get it "stacked" which means on top of each other on both sides. I also love to get the oatmeal date bagel with the "royal palm" cream cheese which is dates, walnuts, and cinnamon. And always on my favorite whole wheat plain bagel. They offer seeded ones as well. My daughter always gets a blueberry bagel with berry cream cheese which I think is raspberry. This location has ample seating inside and outside, as well as a small parking lot which is nice for downtown. Everyone is always very friendly and efficient. I go to multiple locations and it will always be a fave

I would not recommend the jalepeno cheese bagel, it was hard and small and didn't have any cheese or jalepeno... they said it was baked in but I still didn't see any. The prices were also crazy high $8 just to add some lox and it tasted old and had some brown parts. There's also not much parking so I had to pay for a meter. Overall I would skip this place lots of other options in the area.

Satisfying breakfast. The staff are very nice and the prices are very reasonable. Nothing super special, but I wasn't disappointed I went.

A classic for a reason! One of the last affordable breakfasts in Santa Cruz. Make sure to try the scrambagel or one of their many delicious flavored cream cheeses!

Lox Deluxe, no lox, tofu cream cheese

Like a dream I ordered a salt bagel, onion, capers, juicy tomato and tofu cream cheese. I was so impressed by the options I could order. I'll definitely be back!

    Bagel Menu

I ordered a scrambagel with bacon and cheese. The food was exquisite, an absolute five stars. However the customer service I got from the person taking my order was so vehemently terrible that I had to take my rating down a whole three stars. I did not catch his name, but it was an older man wearing a button up shirt and he had dirty blonde/brunette hair. Yes, I am literally adding his description cause of how vile my interaction was. I walked in around twelve, and although there was a rush, the line moved quickly. When I got called up to order, I VERY POLITELY greeted the man taking my order and asked if I can have a bagel with scrambled eggs. He then abruptly replies and looks extremely annoyed and says what bagel. I ask what do you have? And I kid you not, he cuts me off, literally gives me a dirty look, and aggressively tells me that they are "right there." THEN he asked me if I wanted cheese on my bagel, to which I replied yes. OF COURSE, YOU GUESSED IT. His tone is extremely condescending and he asks me "Well what cheese do you want then ." I ask what do they have, and he's STILL UPSET while responding. I was very obviously a new customer so the fact that I am confused a bit on how to order is completely expected. Even if I was not a new customer or he somehow didn't know that (he does it's common sense I was puzzled) why was there ever reason to take that tone. Yes it may be frustrating that I didn't say my order right, but that is no justification to act classless and vulgar. Also even if I was a returning customer, pipe down. I don't need a nice response, just not a mean one. Everything that came from this man was so pessimistic. I have also worked in food service so I KNOW the way I spoke to him was extremely polite. Why would I sass a worker who is serving the food I'm about to eat? The service I received was so bad that I couldn't even enjoy my sandwich to the fullest. I was weirded out that a complete stranger(employee) felt like they had the authority to speak down on me. I don't know if it's because I am a student at UCSC and maybe he has some sort of disdain about young people, but it most certainly felt like he was being mean to me because he perceived me as young and not able to fight back. To the worker who served me, your aggression and presentation of self was distasteful and classless. You represented your place of work as a place that serves you delicious food, at the cost of being eviscerated by the staff. Do better. UPDATE. I have decided to change my review to a one star. This may seem harsh, but I found out the person serving me was the owner, John. If this is the standard the owner sets, the bar is in hell. Factually accurate as he certainly behaved like Satan. Take your business elsewhere and do not support arrogant business owners. As I stated in my original review, do better John.

was chill, lots of menu options and cute outdoor seating. spread to bagel ratio was a little heavy on the spread/filling for me, felt a little nauseous after. not very aesthetic looking but the food itself was pretty good. i got the fandango spread on a tomato basil bagel and it was very filling. overall would come here again to try something different!

What a little gem. Not busy on a Sunday morning. Fast service. Food was delicious. Had the scrambagel. Added bacon and green onions. Older building with outdoor seating for dog.

I was looking for something heavier than a pastry and found out they had breakfast sandwiches and their own bagels! Score!! To my surprise, they also had specialty drinks so I had to get the Blondie latte with a plant-based milk. I asked the lady if it was sweet and she said it came with a tablespoon of brown sugar. But they could switch it and make it a teaspoon instead. Perfect! As I got my latte it was amazing!! The espresso used in the latte was actually a mild roast coffee so I really liked the flavor of it roast and it was Organic!! Win-win!! Since I'm trying to avoid dairy at the moment, I asked if I could get the lox bagel sandwich without cream cheese and replace it with avocado. The lady at the register asked another barista behind her and she said it was fine! Perfect!! You also get to pick out what type of bagel you want, so I wanted to try something different and got the sun-dried tomato and basil or something like that! The sweet flavors of the herbs in the bagel and then the juiciness of the tomato baked into the bread once simply wonderfully with my breakfast sandwich!! There's a cute little waiting area inside with at least 10 tables or seats along the breakfast bar counter and a couple of tables. There's also a very large outdoor seating area, but I was cold so I wanted to sit inside to warm up my body since I was going to go to yoga on the beach. I had only planned on eating half the bagel sandwich but honestly, it was so good when it came out. I sat there for a good 20 minutes until I ate the whole thing!! Lol so funny!! I was so stuffed I had to walk an extra mile before I could start my yoga on the beach! As I sat enjoying my breakfast sandwich, I got to overhear the two barista's talk about music!! One of the baristas allowed her device to search new genres of music while the other barista specifically looked up different genres of music she liked and then would tell her device to find music of that era. So interesting to hear their discussion!! I honestly loved everything about this quaint little coffee shop, and I will definitely be back again and again!!

When I tell you my friend's coffee was bad, it was bad enough I would tell you to go get burnt bean water from a major national coffee chain before getting it here... and the whole coffee interaction was so very bizarre... She ordered a latte with soy. When they brought it to her, they handed it to her in a way the lid popped off and when she attempted to take it from them to sip the coffee, as it was overfull, so she could put the lid on, the guy pulled it back away from her as she's saying "it's fine" and takes it back out of her hand, walks back to the kitchen sink, and dumps out a good inch at the top before putting the lid back on and bringing it back to her. It was really weird to insist on taking it out of her hand and super odd choice to try to solve an ill-fitting lid by dumping out part of the drink she paid for. The way he took it from her weirded us out. It was not helpful and friendly, it was insistent and domineering. We immediately wanted to get out of there and get to the car... and the lid pops off again and again, every time she picks it up. The worst part is that afterward she noticed white dry powdery crud settled at the bottom, not mixed in. No clue what it was, but our best guess was they use some sort of powdered soy milk and they didn't mix it in correctly. TL;DR - Get your coffee anywhere else.

I don't get bagels locally because, well, just because. I happily ordered us coffee and bagels. Now, bear in mind, we roast our own coffee, so to us, the coffee was on the "good" side of Ok. The bagels, on the other hand, were delicious! And boy, do they pack on the cream cheese (maybe enough for 3 bagels depending on one's preference)! Service was friendly and fast. And all the people coming and going were very pleasant - there were plenty of them. The sitting area outside next to the road is pretty small (next to a dumpster, I think), and my guy was having some mobility challenges (on crutches, etc.). Folks in the neighboring table were so kind and accommodating, voluntarily standing up so that he could maneuver into a seat. We went back the following week (yes, another medical appt), and this time they were out of the bagels we wanted, so note to self... get there early if you want a favorite bagel. We will definitely be back to Firefly for the bagels! Have I said "bagels" enough times already?
