I'm always looking for good bagels when I visit new places. The Bagelry is a great place. Lots of options for bagel flavors and things you can put on your bagel. The inside of the Bagelry is nice and spacious. You can sit either inside or on their lovely patio area. The service was friendly and helpful. All the staff seem to really like working there. I ordered the Pink Flamingo on a 3 seed bagel, my wife got an oatmeal date bagel with a honey almond cream cheese and my daughter got peanut butter and jelly on a cinnamon raisin bagel. They were all really delicious. My only complaint would be that the bagels are kind of on the small side.

We were walking back to the car from breakfast down the street when we spotted The Bagelry and figured we might as well buy some bagels for the week. The place was busy, which is always a good sign! The line went quickly and we were able to order six bagels for the road. The inside reminded me of an early 2000s coffee shop with an outdoor garden patio. It was really welcoming, I wish we could have stayed longer. We got the pesto, jalapeño, plain, everything, tomato basil, and blueberry. We tried the pesto and jalapeño bagels this morning at home and honestly it's some of the best bagels we've had! When we're back in town we will absolutely stop here and get bagels with their signature cream cheese options and sit in the patio area.

Always 5 stars. Since I started going 15 years ago. I love the Bagelry. This has been one of my go to menu combos for years. "Hum and eggs" which is their hummus and egg salad. Usually it comes one kind on each half, but I like to get it "stacked" which means on top of each other on both sides. I also love to get the oatmeal date bagel with the "royal palm" cream cheese which is dates, walnuts, and cinnamon. And always on my favorite whole wheat plain bagel. They offer seeded ones as well. My daughter always gets a blueberry bagel with berry cream cheese which I think is raspberry. This location has ample seating inside and outside, as well as a small parking lot which is nice for downtown. Everyone is always very friendly and efficient. I go to multiple locations and it will always be a fave

I get the same thing every time I come here - the jalapeño cheddar bagel with veggie cream cheese. All those additions in the cream cheese are literally perfect, every single bite is amazing.

I would not recommend the jalepeno cheese bagel, it was hard and small and didn't have any cheese or jalepeno... they said it was baked in but I still didn't see any. The prices were also crazy high $8 just to add some lox and it tasted old and had some brown parts. There's also not much parking so I had to pay for a meter. Overall I would skip this place lots of other options in the area.

Satisfying breakfast. The staff are very nice and the prices are very reasonable. Nothing super special, but I wasn't disappointed I went.

My credit card pending charge for this unfortunate experience.

We attended our nephews graduation today and dropped by for a dozen bagels (plain plus a few pesto flavored) the plain bagels were very hard and were not fresh baked today. The pesto ones were soft and awesome. We also got three turkey bagel sandwiches on plain and they also gave us day old bagels. An unfortunate experience. Their dozen bagels were $18/dozen and I tipped for a take away order. You guys could do better, day old bagels should not be sold as fresh baked.

Like a dream I ordered a salt bagel, onion, capers, juicy tomato and tofu cream cheese. I was so impressed by the options I could order. I'll definitely be back!

A classic for a reason! One of the last affordable breakfasts in Santa Cruz. Make sure to try the scrambagel or one of their many delicious flavored cream cheeses!

was chill, lots of menu options and cute outdoor seating. spread to bagel ratio was a little heavy on the spread/filling for me, felt a little nauseous after. not very aesthetic looking but the food itself was pretty good. i got the fandango spread on a tomato basil bagel and it was very filling. overall would come here again to try something different!

I ordered a scrambagel with bacon and cheese. The food was exquisite, an absolute five stars. However the customer service I got from the person taking my order was so vehemently terrible that I had to take my rating down a whole three stars. I did not catch his name, but it was an older man wearing a button up shirt and he had dirty blonde/brunette hair. Yes, I am literally adding his description cause of how vile my interaction was. I walked in around twelve, and although there was a rush, the line moved quickly. When I got called up to order, I VERY POLITELY greeted the man taking my order and asked if I can have a bagel with scrambled eggs. He then abruptly replies and looks extremely annoyed and says what bagel. I ask what do you have? And I kid you not, he cuts me off, literally gives me a dirty look, and aggressively tells me that they are "right there." THEN he asked me if I wanted cheese on my bagel, to which I replied yes. OF COURSE, YOU GUESSED IT. His tone is extremely condescending and he asks me "Well what cheese do you want then ." I ask what do they have, and he's STILL UPSET while responding. I was very obviously a new customer so the fact that I am confused a bit on how to order is completely expected. Even if I was not a new customer or he somehow didn't know that (he does it's common sense I was puzzled) why was there ever reason to take that tone. Yes it may be frustrating that I didn't say my order right, but that is no justification to act classless and vulgar. Also even if I was a returning customer, pipe down. I don't need a nice response, just not a mean one. Everything that came from this man was so pessimistic. I have also worked in food service so I KNOW the way I spoke to him was extremely polite. Why would I sass a worker who is serving the food I'm about to eat? The service I received was so bad that I couldn't even enjoy my sandwich to the fullest. I was weirded out that a complete stranger(employee) felt like they had the authority to speak down on me. I don't know if it's because I am a student at UCSC and maybe he has some sort of disdain about young people, but it most certainly felt like he was being mean to me because he perceived me as young and not able to fight back. To the worker who served me, your aggression and presentation of self was distasteful and classless. You represented your place of work as a place that serves you delicious food, at the cost of being eviscerated by the staff. Do better. UPDATE. I have decided to change my review to a one star. This may seem harsh, but I found out the person serving me was the owner, John. If this is the standard the owner sets, the bar is in hell. Factually accurate as he certainly behaved like Satan. Take your business elsewhere and do not support arrogant business owners. As I stated in my original review, do better John.

A great budget friendly option. You can't go wrong with the number of bagels, schmears, and toppings offered.

So far Mango is the best flavor we tried. Banana was good but it is a little small. Strawberry was good. Passionfruit was too sour for us. Blueberry was good but not my mothers favorite. Raspberry was a little on the sour side as well. The man behind the counter was very friendly, if its your first time and you like sweets probably get the mango, banana, strawberry and blueberry. We didn't get the coconut because that also has passionfruit inside which was sour. Nor any of the more dense choco or PB flavor ones.

Glad we were in Santa Cruz so we got to try it out. This is a very cute pastry shop, small but very inviting. The service is fast here and there are a few seats inside to sit if needed. For the desserts, I tried the Mango and Pistachio. The mango was very yummy and tasted like a real mango, I loved that there was fresh chunks of mango inside! My favorite though was the Pistachio, if you like pistachio, you will LOVE this. It has a nice crunchy piece inside that I loved and the pistachio cream is spot on. I loved that there were pops of raspberry in there for tart, all the flavors came together perfectly. Would love to go back and try one of the assortment boxes next time!
