SO. GREAT! We did our advanced course with Matthias, it was incredible the dive experience we got, and we saw some of the most amazing things they know all the best spots! Even during the break between dives they took us whale watching! My concerns were addressed (which is important for someone who can be a bit anxious.) I feel like a much more confident diver now. I went diving with Manta on 10/25. I dove with my brother-in-law and my two sisters were passengers. We really had a great experience with Manta. Julio was our guide and not only was he a great guide with equipment, the briefing etc., he spotted everything interesting to see like a turtle, Morays and sea lions. Topside, my sisters said Sal, the captain, was constantly watching for other boat traffic and following the divers so he could be there when we surfaced. The water was crystal clear with a variety of marine life and we practically had the marine park to ourselves! Cristina and Dee were full of personality, attentive, and knowledgeable. I had an amazing experience with Manta Scuba Diving. The entire crew was incredible professional and made sure that we felt safe, taken care of, and aware of the dive plan. They kept us well hydrated and all of their gear was well taken care of and clearly very well maintained. My family had a great dive trip with Pedro and Loris. I was a bit nervous about my sons safety, and Pedro assured me that they had experience with children of all abilities. Loris went WAY above and beyond and kept a close eye (and sometimes a guiding hand) on my son in the water, and kindly helped him every step of the way. A friend hired Manta and we all got to go Whale Shark snorkeling with his company. We showed up super early and had a bit of a wait in the dark, in a mall, waiting for the owners to arrive. An owner arrived and apologized, then our guide showed up, out of breath, apologetic and very effusive. We went on a snorkeling trip, 2 hours north from Cabo, and had a great experience. After getting fitted for wet suits, we made a quick stop at the OXXO and then loaded in the waiting taxi. It was an 11 passenger van (hired) and we were soon on our way out of town (not before our cab driver helped us park our rental car at a free and safe parking lot) to La Paz. We drove north for a 2 hour journey. It was a peaceful and comfortable trip in our driven van. We arrived at the beach in La Paz, a large gradual Bay with a bustling but not too busy collection of businesses along the beach. We unloaded from the taxi (again by an OXXO )where we got breakfast after changing in a random (but, luckily, clean) bathroom. We then walked across the street to the beach and an open air boat. We waded a bit in the water before climbing on-board, then were on our way. We went further than I expected, it took a least a half hour to reach the feeding grounds for the whale sharks we were seeking. Out captain was in touch with other captains and, in due time, we were in the right place. This was snorkeling, from a boat, with an incredibly enthusiastic guide. Sam was awesome and very professional. He briefed us on what we should expect and how this would work. We all jumped in (in short order) and soon, Sam was leading us to where the whale sharks were feeding. The whale sharks were incredible, docile, and easy to watch and be close to. Sam was great, always close to the nearest whale shark, arm waving so we could see. He also took a bunch of amazing underwater photos. Whale Sharks are amazing, in varying sizes from "reasonable" for a shark to "terrifying, it's headed this way!!" They tend to move slowly, nothing too sudden, but they can move quickly, without notice. I'd be swimming, looking for them, then all of a sudden, there would be one right there..and then it was headed my way!! After a reasonable time we all decided to head in, that part was easy, after nearly 2 hours, we were all done. We had lunch at a simple beachside place that specialized in cooked meat. Tacos "Al Pastor" was the theme and they were really good. The meat was very good and all the accompaniments were equally good. Manta was a great guide company for a bunch of rookie divers/snorkelers. The guide was very good and all hired services provided a great experience. We all had a great time and saw lots of Whale Sharks in the Bay close to La Paz. read more

I wanted to finish my certification before my Mexico trip but my 3 and 4 dives got cancelled due to hurricane swells. So I had to finish my dives for certification in Mexico. Wow! It was so much more fun and smooth than Southern Cali, the visibility in Cali was only 5ft, here in Cabo it was 100ft. Timo was my instructor and he was so much fun and patient, he made my 3 and 4 dives intergrated into a leisure dive and I was very happy. We saw seals, tuna, small sea turtle, underwater wedding, shipwreck, schools of fish and much more. Prices were not unreasonable and crew very professional and fun....going to come back. Excellent dive operators. We went diving at pelican rock and lands end and the visibility was poor due to the hurricane two days ago but it would definitely have been amazing otherwise. Antonio was a great guide and pointed out lots of fish hidden in rock crevices including sharks, morays, nudie branches, lobsters, stingrays, etc. The shop is only a short 2 min walk from the boat dock and the dive site only 5 min out so everything was super convenient and efficient. My only qualm was that we didnt do a debrief to talk about all our fish sightings. read more

I highly recommend Manta, do not hesitate to book your Cabo diving trip with them! The whole experience was great and our dive guide, Julio, was awesome. We were provided with very nice and new rental gear, and the boat was very nice as well. Julio took very good care of us and made the dive trip very care free and enjoyable. We got to see a wide variety of habitats and sea life doing the 3-tank combo dive including sea turtles, sharks, rays, lobsters, and eels. Short version: Excellent training, great gear, happy people, excellent English, fair pricing, great dive sites, Andres was my instructor and I couldnt have asked for a more personable and professional instructor for my advanced open water cert. Spent 2 days and 5 dives with them. Long version: I wanted to complete my advanced open water cert. so I started looking online. From the very first email to Becky, which was answered promptly and with tons of information about options and costs, I knew I'd found a great shop. I also wanted me kids to possible join for a discovery scuba tour and Becky was excellent at answering all those questions with fair and accurate costs. Upon arrival, I popped in a day before my course began to check it out and make sure the online matched the real world. It did. I was met with happy people in a professional shop with great gear. Andres was an amazing professional and really wanted to impart knowledge and his obvious respect and love for diving. I learned so much from him. I followed his recommendation to start with Peak Performance Buoyancy. Coming into the course, I believed I had good open spaces control, which I did, but he showed me there's a whole other level. I'd recommend starting with PPB because with improved vertical and hands free control, you're much more capable to do other advanced tasks. Definitely use this shop. Have a great day! Jesus was incredibly patient and accommodating as I worked through my apparently now-routine initial underwater anxiety. Five minutes later, I'm like a mermaid. I can swim everywhere! We saw tons of really cool things: sea lions, all sorts of weird fish, eels (ew!), manta rays (!!!), shipwreck, intact toilet, and swimmers way overhead. This was only my second time going diving since I've been certified so I was still extremely nervous. Our dive guides, Annie for the corridor and Julio for Cabo Pulmo, were both AMAZING. They both held my hand until I felt comfortable to let go. They were very good with making sure everyone was safe and having fun. The conditions were a little rough at the corridor since a storm just passed a couple days before but Annie guided us safely. In Cabo Pulmo, Julio took his time to make sure we found a good dive site for the first dive and it was totally worth it. We got to the bottom and saw 4 bull sharks which ended up circling around us for about half an hour! I felt like I was at an aquarium with the sharks getting as close as 5 feet! It was a great day for sure. The staff at the dive shop were also very friendly and patient. And the boat captains and shuttle drivers were all really nice as well. On this particular day, there were only four of us on a small boat: the dive master, boat captain, a gentleman from LA, and myself. While I can't guarantee that your experience will be the same, I believe Manta strives to keep dive groups small--which greatly improves the experience. I got connected with guide Baptiste and two other divers last week. I signed up for the 3 tank combo dive. Check in was painless despite several other groups given a well organized shop. The water was a bit cold but well worth it. Baptiste went through a very detailed pre-dive review including dive plan, depths, currents, etc. Very skilled. These guys are great! Worked with us to create a custom package of diving options that fit our schedule, which included certification for using enriched air (Nitrox.) Did six dives in two days, several sites, and saw a wide variety of sealife. Personal favorite was the Land's End dive site. When the current is low, divers can cruise between the iconic rock formations in a channel, as seen on all the postcards. Ask for a dive instructor named Frankie (hope I spelled that right.) He's a biologist and is intimately familiar with the fish and wildlife that can be seen. Kike was also a very knowledgable dive master. Zero complaints! Had a great time! read more

Our guides Lorna and awesome American young lady with blonde hair and blue snorkel (feel terrible I can't remember her name) were absolutely phenomenal and I would give them 5 stars as well as Becky who was so helpful with my reservation. However we were really unimpressed with Cesar, the boat driver, and found him to be somewhat of an asshole. He consistently spoke down to the guides and guests and would get moody if the guides tried to help us with our equipment. This led to him turning off my brothers air for some reason before he was about to go off the boat and the air was only turned back on because my brother noticed. I also had to request for my air to be turned on because he only helped me get half way into my bcd. That was a bit disturbing as well as my dad having a faulty bcd. Again, the scuba was good and can't say enough positive things about our guides but I would not want to go out in a boat again with Cesar. read more

My wife and I just completed our PADI open water certification with Manta Divers. We took the eLearning option at home then did the confined and open water dives with Manta. They were very helpful and responsive from the first email contact, and we ended up booking accommodation (Bungalows Hotel) and transport from the airport through them as well. All went as planned - no hassle or problems. Our instructor was Ryan (one instructor for 2-3 of us depending on day) and he was great - very professional, nice guy, adaptable with the instruction when we struggled a bit one dive. I overheard three other guides from Manta on the boat and all seemed very mature and professional. I've taken several outdoor pursuit classes where the instructors seemed to be very into the activity but couldn't translate that into good instruction so it was great to see this was not the case. The boats and gear seemed high quality and the whole operation seems very well run and by nice people. My only caveat would be for people who do the confined dive at Manta's in shop pool. It's 6ft x 12ft x 4ft deep and located near compressors in a very humid environment. We did the confined training at Bungalows' pool which was much better - I would recommend either requesting to use a hotel pool or doing the confined water part before coming to Manta rather than using their pool. Overall this was a really good experience and I would heartily recommend Manta for training or as a dive center. read more

We called and the young lady gave us the wrong prices over the phone. Prices from pick-up to the actually snorkeling package price. However, we paid the difference. We didn't want to be "those tourists". It would have been a lot cheaper if he would have used the tour company attached to the RUI palace resort but lesson learned. We had a great team/crew on the boat! They were fun, outgoing, extremely knowledgable and made the trip awesome. Made sure we had water and crackers. We had to share the time with some scuba divers so our trip for snorkeling was cut short but the guy was extremely friendly and we enjoyed it overall. I will say if you are looking for a great scuba trip and snorkeling crew these are your guys. They make it a lot of fun and they KNOW their stuff!!! Shout out to our dive instructor, Brendan from South Africa, who absolutely rocked as our guide! My bf and I looked at pretty much all the options in Cabo to try our first scuba dive ever with, and ultimately went with Manta--so glad we did. It's privately owned, and from the other diving groups we saw out on the water, I knew we signed up with the right place. For the Discover Scuba course, Manta takes you out to the dive sites (Pelican Rock and Los Arcos) in smaller groups, and it was a total of four of us on the boat with our two instructors and Jaime, el capitán. Unfortunately for my somewhat competitive self, my bf was much better at getting the hang of things than I was. But Brendan was super helpful and patient, and while underwater, kept reminding me to calmly breathe (how I screwed this up, I really don't know), relax, and use the basic skills we learned. The most informative/calm coaching you could ask for! And in the end, we got to see gorgeously colored fish and even a few whitetip sharks. I ended up feeling nauseous, ugh, so we skipped the second dive, just shooting the spit with Brendan on the bow of the boat while the other couple went. Honestly, if you're a newbie like me, I'd trust Manta 100% for your first dive experience and Brendan as a great instructor. Have fun and, uh, remember to breathe! read more
