Stay away from here! Ever since this practice was sold, it has been a completely different and far worse experience. The new doctor misdiagnosed my husband, and they clearly lack the proper equipment to take accurate measurements for hard contact lenses so the contacts they ordered didn't fit at all and had to be reordered. What followed was an absolute communication nightmare. We called multiple times asking for updates and were repeatedly told they would call us when they knew something. A full month went by with complete silence. When we finally called again, they got back to us a day later with the convenient excuse that the order had supposedly been "lost in transit." What a coincidence. A month of no contact, no follow-up, no accountability, and then suddenly the order just vanished? This practice used to be great. Now it's a waste of your time and money. Staff has been lacking in customer service the past couple of years. My family and I have been going there for over 15 years, but now I have to find somewhere else to go. Last year, they forgot to order contact lenses for one of us, and when I followed up, they said they were never ordered. Our appointments were near the end of the year, when I followed up, it was the new year and they said there was nothing they could do because they were not ordered. I would have to pay out of pocket or use the benefits for the new year. I lost benefits for the year due to a staff mistake. This year, I ordered glasses. They took about a month to come in. I picked them up. My first time wearing them, they were crooked. I went back to them. The staff member noticed they were crooked right away. I could tell the nose brackets were off and uneven. After about 30 min of adjusting, the staff could not get them to sit straight. They commented that they did look straight, but you could tell they weren't. They commented that faces are not even/symmetrical, so I couldn't go by my eyebrows because not everyone has even eyebrows. I tried on the sample ones in the display case, and it was evident that those were straight and my brand new pair was not. After some time, the agreement was that I would leave the crooked pair, and they would get me another pair. I followed up 3 weeks later because no one called me. The glasses were in. When I picked them up, it was the same pair they had originally given me. They still sat crooked. Staff said there was nothing they could do because that's they way the glasses are. I was so livid that I walked out. In hindsight, I should have left the glasses there. But, I took them. I am looking to put in a complaint with my insurance company. The frame still sits crooked. According to the staff member, there is nothing that can be done. Very disappointing! read more

Dr is great! My appt was 11/11/22 to date I'm still waiting for my "TRAIL" contact. They don't call with updates. When I call they say "I don't know why not here yet maybe the holidays or their computer is down". WOW. After the trail I can't wait to see how long it will take to get my "REAL" contacts. I'm glad they don't take my vision seriously and I have an old prescription to fall back on. read more

He works on cataracts too and he was one of the only doctors who do. He explained everything wrong with my eyes and how I can stop it from getting any worse. I was supposed to get contacts because I am unable to see. Well they scheduled me in on day that worked for me, mind you that I have 2 jobs and go to school, so they schedule me but they schedule me for the wrong thing so I can't get my contacts and the doctor couldn't do anything about it. All he did was apologized. The staff made an error with scheduling and didn't have the decency to squeeze me in because the doctor was "filled with appointments". Apart from that the staff never called to tell me when my contacts came in, so I waited about two weeks before I had to call and ask if my contacts come in and they said yes they came in about a week ago after they said they were going to follow up as soon as they got there which is ridiculous. I have been coming to Dr. Gonzalez for years now, he see's me and does glasses for my daughter. I have been 100% happy with him, he really tries to do his best. I think i started seeing him since 2014 or 2015 and i really don't see myself going anywhere else with or without insurance. I would give this place a try, just be patient with the staff they are just trying to do the best they can. The doctor is really worth seeing. read more

Gave them a chance and call me crazy but business staff need to understand communication is key to being on the same page. I already have a busy job and don't need to follow up this often. I've been coming to see this doctor since I was in middle school. He is a very good doctor and has helped me a lot with maintaining good eye health. I just get my regular eye and contact annual check up here. Overall I prefer the way the doctor treats you instead of his front office staff. Terrible staff. They're very rude, and unprofessional. Their tone over the phone and in person is unbelievable. You can tell they don't like working. The Dr. isn't very conscientious about contact wearers. He's recommended dailies for me everytime I've gone, and until recently I got fed up with their service and went elsewhere. The new dr. I saw said the Dailies are terrible, and not even cheaper than the Acuvue, which fit much better. My mom had trouble at this office also. They charged her insurance, and then charged her again for the same amount they had charged the insurance. We had to dispute the charges, and all was remedied thanks to the credit card benefit. I had a wonderful experience here at Dr. Gonzalezs'. I'm not due till April, but I came with my boyfriend after my parents recommended him. The first time we came in Alisha helped us with our benefits and scheduled the exam appointment. Very patient and helpful. We were scheduled on a Tuesday at 11:45am. We arrived, no wait time. We filled out a form and he was immediately called in by the doctor. As my boyfriend described, the doctor was very detailed, attentive, friendly and caring. Boyfriend has been wearing glasses his whole life and stated he'd never had a doctor so detailed and caring, during his exam I asked one of the girls how much she would charge me to adjust my sunglasses as they were too loose. She said she would fix them and she did at no charge. I was so grateful. hahaha Thank you Mayra. She also helped my boyfriend choose his frames very patient and polite great customer service.
