I don't recommend this place because they gave my daughter the wrong prescription for her contact lenses, I did not know they had a return policy but life happened to us, went through a rough divorce, we had to move and when I called to see if they can give me a refund on the contact lenses that don't fit nor my daughter can see with they refuse to give me a credit or refund so I can get the right prescription for my daughter. If they mess up on something, why is that the customers fault. My daughter has not been able to use those contact lenses for a long time and now that we are settled in our new place and she needs her contacts for school and we are short in money, this place can't make an exception for their mistake and give us credit. Every visit is nothing short from spectacular! I've been coming to this optometry for about 5+ years and each visit has always been amazing. From the office's cleanliness to the incredible staff. Went in a few weeks ago for my 2 year olds annual eye exam. Everyone in the office is so kind , gentle attentive with the smaller kids. Check in process a new patient was fast and easy ! The moment we went in for my daughters measurements and to take pictures of her eyes the assistant, made my little one feel so comfortable and at ease. So seeing the Doctor was as a walk in the park . She was very animated and showed my little one pictures ,shapes ,and videos to review her eye vision. They also have a large variety of glasses to choose from. Can't wait to come back and bring my other little one as well. I would highly recommend them ! read more

First timers! Very accessible location, ample parking. I received a reminder call the day before my appointment, so much appreciated. Upon entering, very clean, spacious, love the brick interior. Met with very nice and hospitable staff, temp check, sanitized hands. Went through standard eye tests and had nice conversations. One of the friendliest and energetic doctors I've ever met, Dr. Aguilar. She was very patient, connected well, and laid out many prescription options. Very hospitable and had a great sense of humor. Got fitted for glasses. Staff was very informative, super friendly, and connected well. This is a gem of a place. The quote on the wall says it all, keeping their sense of prayerful mission. Excellent service, easy to schedule an appointment (even outside of typical 9-5 work hours), lots of different frame styles available, and most insurances covered (VSP for sure). Special shout out to Crystall who helped us compare eye glass styles, with a professional and calming atmosphere at all time. These are all the major pros for coming to any optometrist and Norwalk Family Optometry has all of them. As an extra benefit, if you do get new glasses or contacts they offered to mail them free of charge to your home (as an alternative to needing to go back in to the office). As a patient just be aware that they use a machine to scan the back of your retina. While this is just one of many tests that involve shining bright light in and around your eyes, they did not (for me at least) provide adequate warning of the bright green light that was being used. Very startling the first time it was done. read more

The lady who answered our phone call had a very warm tone of voice and went above and beyond by calling VSP to obtain a Authorization Release that a previous optometrist office placed on my sisters benefits. Found this place using Yelp, yay Yelp! From the moment I called to make an appointment, I knew it was gonna be great. The receptionist who answered was fantastic! Ugh, I wish I remembered her name. What I can remember is that she works weekdays only. What a sweetheart she was. So friendly and bubbly! Good thing is, upon arrival, all of the staff were pretty amazing. A very warm and nice bunch. The doctor was really nice and thorough. I felt very comfortable with her. And the best part is that I never felt like any of the staff were trying to upsell me on any service, test or product that I didn't need. Yea, that has happened at other optometry offices, yuck. Parking is plentiful. The interior of the offices are super cute! The wood floors and brick walls are so rustic, yet modern. The fish tank is also a nice touch. Oh yea, since this is an optometry office, I guess I should mention that there's a great selection of frames to choose from for both regular glasses and sunglasses. A few weeks after my visit, I received an email with images of my eyes from my visit, along with confirmation that everything is great. How nice! Needless to say, I'll be back here again. read more

I came here for a routine eye exam and because I was having someone irritation in on of my eyes. Michelle and Norma were very helpful throughout the whole process of scheduling the appointment, pre testing and even helping me with options for glasses. Dr. Mathur checked my prescription for any changes and made sure my eye did not have any severe issues per my irritation. A quick recommendation on some medicated eye drops and I was on my way. I would give this place zero stars recently. My family and myself have been coming to this optometrist since before they moved locations. I don't know if they've gotten new employees or new management but they are very rude and quick to turn you away. I went in recently for my 5 year old as a walk in hoping she could be seen since her eye was incredibly red and clearly in pain. I've been to this place multiple times for eye visits and the staff and doctors are extremely professional and super friendly...I have extreme anxiety so it puts me at ease when I feel comfortable with the people working...recently due to the whole covid fiasco...my anxiety has spiked and I have not left my house...I had to change insurance and lost my number for the this eye doctor I live down the street but I was too nervous to walk. So luckily today, I was able to get a ride and when I went in I was greeted with a friendly staff member who took my temp and then was again greeted by another staff memberBreanne if I spelled that correctly, she was very helpful and kind I was asking her two questions and then I'd be on my way, I didn't get her name but another staff member came out and was SUPER rude to me and raised her voice saying why did I come in if I didn't have an appointment? I said sorry multiple times I didn't have the number she said I should have called and I again said sorry I did not have the number as I lost it and she said then get the number from the door out front, I said I'm so sorry I didn't know the door had the number(which when I left and checked it didn't) she said next time don't come in unless I called and it doesn't matter if I came for questions everything needs to be done by appointments now due to covid, and that if I have any questions next time not to come in and to call only because they need to maintain how many people are in the facility (there was only one patient in the lobby besides me and 3 receptionist)...she made me feel very stupid and dumb and yes when I left I cried. I understand there is a pandemic and she must have been worried but I'm a person who cannot see without glasses and I was just trying to get help, she was so rude and unprofessional...Breanne on the other hand was super kind and helpful and I'm very happy she stayed and helped me with my two questions and helped me set up an appointment. She in a way, made up for the rudeness of her colleague. Though I would want to give 5 stars I cannot because of the treatment I received from the one staff member. I have been a patient for more than 25 years. I visited most recently on 1/18/21. The safety procedures were all in place, temperatures were checked on entry, all furniture was separated and the staff cleaned equipment and glasses we tried on and sanitized them. My family were the only group seen during our time slot. No one came in without a prescheduled appointment and pick ups were all carried outside to the waiting customers at curbside. Wonderful team!! This place failed to tell us that they didn't have the right size frame for my toddler. The frames they sold us were 8 sizes too big. When we went back, instead of trying to order the correct size for him, they just bent the temples like crazy and told us to buy a strap for the back. Would not recommend for toddlers. My son, Rowan, came in for his baby eye visit last year. I found their office through the eye program for babies and then looked them up on yelp. Saw a 5 star review and it was a plus that they were very close to home. So I booked the appointment. Hubby took him since I was sick. Few months down the road, I finally decide to get my eyes checked (it's been a few years). The office was small but brightly lit, spacious and very clean. They have equipment I've never seen before so I guess they're pretty high tech. Dr. Larcabal himself was pretty cool. Very friendly and efficient. I'm disappointed to find out I have a slight prescription in my left eye but other than that, I was very happy with my exam and overall visit. Will return in a few months for Rowan's follow up exam. Me and my family have been using this office for about 15 years and I highly recommend them. Staff: Always friendly and helpful. Even though I personally don't need it, they are bilingual at the front desk. Technology: They are always updating the equipment that check the health of your eyes. They use current technology to detect any issues in the eyes which is equally important to your vision. The doctors: Always friendly, knowledgeable and explain things to you when you have questions. The office: Always clean and modern looking. That means a lot to me. It's warm and inviting vs. cold and boring decor. Fish tanks are a nice touch. Product: They have a decent selection of glasses/sunglasses from which to chose. I'm sure most people would be able to find something that compliments their face. Went here because it's super close to where I live, my insurance (VSP) is accepted here and the reviews seemed really good. Great experience from beginning to end. The parking lot is a decent size (it's located in a small plaza, but I went on a quiet Monday morning, so not sure how busy it can get there.) The place is very clean & well lit. Everyone there is super nice and friendly. Every step of the way, whoever was working with me explained what they were doing, why they were doing it, and what all my options were. So, I had Lasik in 2016 but came back to the office in 2018 so they can check my eye health and I can get some sunglasses with a light prescription through my insurance. They have state of the art equipment and ALL the staff are just so nice, warm, and friendly.
