If you expect basic courtesy, this is not the place. I went to Manuel's to ask about repairing a leather pocketbook and was cut off mid-sentence with a blunt "no." There was no attempt to understand my request, offer alternatives, or even communicate respectfully. The interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. First of all, they do not speak or understand English! I brought in two pairs of shoes. One was a dress pump that had some dents/nicks in the heel. I pointed them out and asked if they could fix it OR put a new heel on. For $20 he dabbed some dye in the dents! The other pair were sandals that needed new insoles. Instead he glued down the old ones for $15. I have shoe glue at home and could have done this myself! Will not use this shop again! read more

I bought a dress that did not arrive as advertised. I wanted to see if I could fix it and was referred to Kim (the Asian lady) who does the alterations at Manuel's Shoe Repair & Alterations. I think Kim might be good if you have very basic alterations, but if it's anything that's a bit complicated, you will want to take your garment to someone with a much better grasp of English. I thought Kim knew more English than she could speak, but that turned out not to be the case. For $150, Kim was supposed to change out the cuffs and and include 3-inch velvet bands, create more of a pencil skirt silhouette, remove the narrow white sheer front panel of the dress, and add narrow flesh-toned bands across the back to better hold the back up. The only thing that turned out great was the pencil skirt shape. Everything else was meh to disaster. To start: 1. On closer inspection, I realized the cuffs weren't folded over along the top to give it a smoother look. It's just the cut edges. 2. The small narrow band I envisioned across the top became six long flesh-colored ribbons I'm supposed to tie. The dress was backless, and I only wanted a sheer insert that wouldn't be noticeable. 3. She replaced the narrow white panel in the front with a flesh colored insert. I probably wouldn't have minded this so much except that because she doubled up on the fabric, it's a lot more noticeable and since it kind of pulls when I have it on, you can see the bad sewing job. All Kim kept saying was "Too long! Too long!" As if the long ribbons were the only problem. I tried to explain the other issues but she didn't seem to get it. I was on lunch break and didn't have time to try to make her understand. I live 30 minutes from that shop and I wasn't about to leave it there to be butchered some more. So I took my dress and left. Just want to warn you guys: If you have a complicated alteration (was it really that complicated??), don't waste your money there. read more

I stopped by Manuel's Shoe Repair and Alterations today. I was more than happy when I left. He asked me to have a seat and he replaced the tips on the heels I was wearing right then and there. I didn't have to wait four days and he didn't charge an outrageous price either. He was very professional. I will be returning and sharing with everyone!! read more

Repaired a pair of shoes with a split sole very reasonably. Will use when needed again.

Sloppy work and stitching on my handbag that I took for repair. A handle on my designer bag broke at the seam. I asked the woman at the desk if this is something they can repair. She said yes. I also asked her if they had the same color thread as my bag, which she also replied yes. I will now have to take the bag to someone else to repair after paying Manuel's Shoe repair for subpar and sloppy work. Go somewhere else for your leather repairs. read more

Really weird experience here. I took a pair of boots in to get a zipper replaced and the guy behind the counter looked at them and said "no" while making some sort of blocking gesture with his hands. I am not sure if it's not possible to replace the zipper in the boots, or they don't do that particular service but I guess don't go here if you need a zipper replaced on a pair of boots. read more

I broke part of the heel on the underside of my favorite leather shoes. Other shoe repair stores said it could not be fixed. I took it to Manuel Shoe Repair, and he not only fixed my heel, but made the shoes look BRAND NEW overall! I would definitely recommend this shoe repair and will bring all my shoes here from now on. read more

I went here because my mother had a dress altered for a wedding last year and said the lady there did an excellent job. I took my wool pea coat here to have the upper arms altered because they were way too small for the coat size....another very clean job and they were very friendly. I will most definitely be back here if I need something else altered. read more

Good work with my alteration but with a STRONG CAUTION. My clothing had a noticeable black smear about 3 inches long (which looked very much like eyeliner kohl that the seamstress wore) close to the location of the alteration. I showed the seamstress and the store clerk who both insisted that they were not responsible for the smear. I reminded them that smear was not there when I brought the garment in days prior for sizing. The smear was not there days prior when the seamstress described the alterations that were needed. It's interesting that the smear magically appeared when I picked up my garment. It's unacceptable how this establishment handled this situation. I cannot continue to support this establishment. read more

Horrible place, poor service. Guy charged me $ 12 for a repair that started falling apart before I even left a shop. I told him that I would do much better job and he allowed me to use his equipment to fix my own shoe just to prove it. And I did it and his reply was " Oh, I'm gonna hire you". I just had the worst experience at this shoe repair shop. The gentleman and woman were there and they were unable to repair my heel on my fairly new boot. They did not tell me until I asked about it. They did replace the soles. The total cost was $18. At first the gentleman refunded me all of the money but then he tried to snatch it back out of my hand. I tried to understand what they were saying but their English was poor and they both started to yell at me out of frustration. I repeatedly asked them to stop yelling at me and let them know that I did not understand what they were saying. Another woman came into the store and I asked her for her help. After making sense of what was said, the woman finally told me they could not repair the heel but wanted me to still pay them for shining my boot and replacing the sole. I will never do business with them again and suggest you go somewhere else where you are respected and no one tries to snatch money out of your hand. You may also want to find someone that can actually repair the heel on a shoe. Now I'm left with a shiny shoe that I still can't wear. read more
