When I entered this store on March 26, 2026, for services rendered, I was told that I would have to pay in full ($40.00) repair fee before I could have my shoes resoled and it would take a week to repair. I paid the requested shoe repair payment with my American Express card. When I returned to pick up my shoes on April 4, 2026, I forgot that I had prepaid the $40.00 requested repair fee to the owner and paid another $40.00 in cash at the time to picked up my shoes. I wasn't given a payment receipt at the time for the second payment. When I returned home, I remembered that I had already paid for the shoe repair services via American Express as requested a week before the shoes where resoled. I immediately returned to the store. Before I could enter the store, he saw me before I could open the door and locked it. It was near closing time. It was the weekend, so I returned on Tuesday April 2, 2026, with my shoes in my hands and told second him of my repair payment for services rendered. He wouldn't repay me the $40.00 and asked me for receipt that he didn't give me. Lesson learned: Always pay with a credit card and get a receipt. This store is not worthy of your business. Pass the word.

When I called, the owner's son answered the phone and abruptly hung up while yelling for the staff member to take the call. When she finally answered, my items were still not ready. The following day, I went in again to retrieve my belongings, only to find they were still not available. I requested a refund of my deposit, and I had to assist her in locating my items, which were scattered throughout their disorganized shop. The owner was present during this encounter, and when I explained the situation to him, he was not particularly helpful.

They blamed me for "missing their calls" or even claimed they had "never received" my calls, instead of taking responsibility or offering a real explanation. I double checked my received calls and hadn't received anything from them, so I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and asked if they had my number written down correctly, which they did. After a month and a half of this back-and-forth, I told them I'd come pick up the shoes myself if no progress was being made. I was again promised a call the next morning, which never came after I had waited two days. When I finally drove 45 minutes each way to retrieve them, I found that the shoes hadn't been touched at all -- not even disassembled. This experience wasted three hours of driving and a lot of time and patience. I understand delays happen, but the lack of honesty, accountability, and professionalism made this one of the most frustrating customer experiences I've ever had. I wouldn't have had any issues if they had taken accoutnability or communicated what was going on, I really wanted to support a local business. But it seems that I'll have to ship my shoes off to someone else to get them done, a month and a half of waiting with no progress or updates is a little ridiculous to me.
