was on a toad trip from CA to ID today and the AC in my jeep stopped working! stopped at manzos garage and got the best customer service and speedy service! not sure what they did, but within 30 mins my AC was fixed and they didn't even charge me! truly a lifesaver, thank you so much!

Manzo is honest and awesome! And he was really generous. The starter on my car died and i was stranded 12 miles from Winnemucca just before dark. A tow service dropped my car off at Manzo's garage cause they said he was the best. I even had called a second tow service and asked them about Manzo, they had only good things to say as well. The next morning after i spent the night in a motel i met Manzo and after seeing my situation, he stopped his other projects and attended to me. He told me immediately how much he would charge for labor and it was very reasonable. In order to save money on the part, he called a few autopart stores along with me. Without trying to make an extra buck by charging extra on the part he let me use his own car to go pick up the piece. what a guy!! Super cool. Super affordable. very trustworthy.

Driving through Reno from Wyoming on thanksgiving week and my alternator went out so we were relying just on battery juice after that. Went to his shop an hour before closing and he didn't turn us away. Helped me and my family allot. I wish I lived near there to get all my car needs done there. Great guy

Good Mechanic -- But Serious Concerns About Pricing and Billing…read more We were stranded in Winnemucca, Nevada, while traveling from Illinois to California when the transmission in our 2003 Chevy Express failed. We were more than 1,700 miles from home and had no choice but to rely on a local mechanic. We were referred to Brian and, based on our experience with the actual repair, we believe he is a good mechanic. The fabrication and installation of the new transmission lines were very well done, and the rebuilt transmission itself has performed well. Our concern is not the quality of the mechanical work. Our concern is the delay in ordering the transmission (leading us to add more hotel cost), pricing, billing, and lack of transparency we experienced. Brian charged us $4,738 for the transmission and specifically told my husband that he was giving it to us "at my cost." After returning home, we contacted the supplier and obtained documentation showing that the transmission had been purchased through O'Reilly Auto Parts for $2,339, plus a $350 core charge. That is a substantial difference from what we understood "my cost" to mean. We also discovered a discrepancy on the final invoice. An additional $52.70 was added to what we were told we owed, without any explanation. We also have concerns about how sales tax was applied to the invoice and are reviewing those charges. We understand that a business needs to make a profit. That is not our complaint. Our concern is being told that a part was being provided "at my cost" when the documentation we later obtained does not support that statement. We were stranded far from home, in a very vulnerable situation, and we trusted that we were being treated fairly. It was extremely disappointing to return home and discover these discrepancies. In summary: We believe Brian does good mechanical work. Our concern is with the business side--pricing, billing, delay in ordering the transmission, and transparency. Anyone considering using this business should get a detailed written estimate, ask about parts costs and markups, and carefully review every charge on the final invoice before paying.

Our experience with this mechanic shop was extremely disappointing and frustrating…read more We were initially told that the vehicle's fuse box had been completely damaged following a faulty jump start, resulting in a repair bill of $600+. We paid for the repair and expected our vehicle to be returned to us in working condition. However, when we picked up the vehicle, the emergency lights were still on and the vehicle would not start--it was completely dead. This was especially concerning because we would reasonably expect a vehicle to be in better operating condition after being serviced by a mechanic. We attempted to start the vehicle again approximately an hour later, and it was still completely dead. We contacted the shop, and the receptionist initially told us that the issue appeared to be with the battery and that the mechanic would call us back. Approximately 20 minutes later, the mechanic contacted us and stated that the vehicle now needed a new battery, which he claimed he had previously informed us about. This was never communicated to us during our previous conversation. Had we been told that the battery needed to be replaced, we would have agreed to have the issue addressed, especially since this is our only means of transportation. When we asked whether there was any record or documentation indicating that a battery replacement had been discussed, we were essentially told that it was "his word against ours." The mechanic also stated that because we could barely afford the cost of the fuse box repair, he had simply proceeded with that repair rather than replacing the battery. This was particularly frustrating because the battery issue was never clearly communicated to us before we picked up the vehicle, and we were only informed afterward that replacing it would cost an additional approximately $300. Our main concern is not simply the additional expense, but the lack of clear communication and the fact that we were given back a vehicle that was still completely inoperable. If additional repairs were necessary for the vehicle to start and operate properly, we should have been informed before the vehicle was returned to us and before we left the shop. We paid over $600 expecting the vehicle to be repaired, only to leave with a vehicle that was still dead and then be told shortly afterward that another $300 repair was necessary. In our experience, the communication and handling of this situation were extremely unprofessional and unacceptable.

Alethia communicated clearly with us at every step and her remarkable technicians saved our trip. Everyone at the dealership was pleasant and helpful. Kudos to the entire team. I stopped by Wednesday morning as we were proceeding out of town with a noise within the engine compartment. Diana (customer service lead) quickly made arrangements for a technician (Bryce sp?) to take a quick ride and troubleshoot the noise. He quickly identified it was coming from near the transmission. The service dept was able to perform a full diagnostic later that day to determine it was a faulty starter Bendix gear. The replacement starter was several days out from delivery. I worked with Diana to expedite the part for a much quicker delivery. The part arrived on Friday morning and I was notified that they will fit me into the schedule for that day for the replacement. It was done by 1:00 p.m. that afternoon. We were soon on our way after that. I would like to thank Diana, Bryce, Alethea, and most likely the shop Foreman for getting us The truck repaired and underway much sooner than anticipated. I would highly recommend Humboldt Ford to anyone needing service on their vehicles.
