I just went in and ordered a gluten free, crusty crust Mediterranean personal pizza. It was fabulous. Tons of wonderful vegetables AND a perfectly crispy crust. So while half would normally be enough for me, I even indulged in a fourth ( of six) pieces. It was SO good. Give them a chance. I was not disappointed! Went here on a Thursday night for dinner and business was fair, a little less than expected after reading all the great reviews. Our waitress was very nice and checked in with us throughout the dinner. We ordered the buffalo chicken pizza and a Caesar salad. The pizza slices were huge and NY style, and it had just the right amount of buffalo sauce on it! I really enjoyed the buffalo chicken pizza here as compared to other local pizza places I've ordered it at. Best pizza in Cornelius, NC! Calzones are outstanding, the real deal with both ricotta and mozzarella cheese and perfect size. I came to visit my brother in Huntersville. I come from New York City where I go to Author Avenue in the Bronx all the time for the best Italian food on the planet. We decided to order and if I'm not in NYC I typically don't order Italian food because its usually a disappointment. We found Maola's and decided to take a chance. WOW!!!!! Outstanding. This is our new favorite Italian Restaurant/pizzeria. The owners are straight from Long Island and both are seen working very hard in the restaurant every time we are there. I've had the penne a la vodka, stuffed shells, calzones, pizza, and Gorgonzola salad and all were delicious! My husband enjoys the chicken parm hero. I wouldn't call it fine dining, but it's very good, and there's plenty of it. The eggplant rollatini is done very well, stuffed with a nice ricotta. The speciaty pizzas are all tasty. I recommend the buffalo chicken or the vodka sauce chicken. Any of the calzones are really big and stuffed with nice mozzarella and ricotta. I asked them to add spinach to mine, and it was fantastic. If I could hit no stars I would. Dont get me wrong the food is good. The management stinks. We have been getting catering trays from them and the food leaks. Nothing yo bad but this saturday I went in n ordered a catering tray and picked it up, I said to the girl it's not leaking is it. She replied no. Well when i got to my store and picked up the tray it was everywhere . All over the seat. I had called and they told me to send pics. I did no 1 got back to me. So today i went grocery shopping and put the bags in the back seat. I had noticed alfredo sauce all down the back of the seat on the floor. Well I had called miguel back and told him what happened. Told him I cleaned up the seat and dint realize it was all over the back of the seat n on the floor behind the seat. He told me there was nothing he could do about it. I had said someone should be responsible for the cleaning. He told me I was being recorded and he will do nothing about it and he told me he was hanging the phone up. Now i have to pay for the car to be detailed and it smells like sour milk. I am very upset over this. He retreated me awful and I have heard about him not treating people right when u have a complaint. No one is perfect and this shouldn't be like this. I was a good customer. And noone should treat there customers like that. I will never go back there. No one deserves to be treated the way he treated me..u want good service dont go there. read more

Water, water, water, food was good except for the pasta that was cooked in the water. My wife had water to drink and it was straight up laced with polystyrene or something synthetic. My kids Mac and cheese smelled of the same chemical. The lemonade and sprite my kids had to drink wreaked of this chemical as well. I had a beer and it was fine. I asked the table next to us if they noticed something very wrong with the water and they agreed it was nasty. I alerted our waitress and the manager/owner of the offensive/chemically laced water. The owner offered me some bottled water and told me that it was just the local taste of the water. I live a few mile from this place and my water is excellent. I had another conversation with our waitress before we left that this is a serious problem and it needs to be addressed. I will not return here until I know that this issue has been resolved. To me it just isn't that good. The flavor is blah and the service is mediocre at best. Have tried it twice, and disappointed both times.

New to the area, and I paid a visit here today for lunch. This is probably the most tasteless pizza I have ever eaten in my entire life. Additionally, the service was poor at best, and the waitress was less than sanitary as she almost constantly picked her scalp, scratched her face, wiped sweat from her brow, and continued to serve guests . . . ALL without even bothering to wash her hands. When it comes to Maola's Pizza, caveat emptor is all I can say . . . let the buyer beware. read more

This the best pizza and authentic Italian restaurant tucked away in our little neighborhood. You can order a jumbo pizza by the slice (cheese is simple and delicious) or i say go for the large 18 inch. Amazing light n flaky crust. Fresh made in front of you to order. The sauce is light and 100% homemade. I haven't told you about the pasta dishes with fresh baked bread or incredible triple chocolate mousse cheese cake!
