While out on a country drive in Central Mass, I stopped by East View Farm in Rutland, which was…read morefairly busy on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The farm has animals, fresh produce, live music, BBQ food truck, and The Haven food counter. The Haven offers made to order breakfast sandwiches, Haven potato patties, smash burgers, hot dogs, ice cream treats, soft drinks, plus beer, wine, and cocktails. There are ample picnic tables and wooden chairs spread out around the farm. I decided to order some food at The Haven, while there was a live music performance at the nearby barn. I ordered the Single Patty Smash Burger ($7 plus tax) and The Loaded (Potato) Patties (2) ($11 plus tax) at the counter. My food was brought out to me in stages when things were ready. The Smash Burger came out first, which was a well done grilled beef patty topped with lettuce, tomato, raw onion, and a zesty sauce on a soft grilled burger bun. This burger was a bit messy to eat, but pretty good. Next, one Loaded (Potato) Patty arrived since I was told the second loaded patty didn't come out the proper way and they would bring it out. The second patty arrived 7 minutes later with apologies for the wait. The fried potato patties are similar to latkes, topped with sour cream, bacon & cheese, which were very tasty. I enjoyed some of the live music performance as I ate my food. Overall, this food stand at East View Farm offered tasty food at a fair price. I would've gotten ice cream too, if I was still hungry.

(Also I've spent several hundred dollars in gift cards for them) BUT I want to point out that we were there today for Father's Day breakfast. I understand that you were busy. We came early and were told it would be just a few minutes. When we asked how much longer we were told that they're clearing a table and the waitress looked over towards the table. Then when Sara walked in as a party of five they were seated right away. Then when I said to the waitress I thought you said that you were seating us at that table she said RUDELY I ended up not. Her lack of friendliness was unacceptable. There was no need to be rude. This is not the customer service that we are used from 122 Diner.Thank you for your attention to this matter. As always thank to the waitress that served us you were awesome!!

Like yeah. Staff is wonderful and prompt even on the busiest of mornings and I love trying the special omelettes. Wait times can be long so come early as possible and if you have a small party sit at the counter !! Only thing I would improve on? Better quality coffee. All around great place and there's NOTHING bad on the menu.

Would give their coffee another try in future. The pastries were amazing though. The lemon bar - perfection. The brunch braid was okay - I liked the concept but I don't know if I'd get it again. Then came for lunch. Had a chunky monkey smoothie - it was a little watery in the middle but still delicious. The cranberry walnut chicken salad on sourdough was exactly what I was craving. And that sourdough - so good! The place itself is really cute and they sell some local items. There's a blind date with a book section and they sell Hoppy Pop (which is incredible). Everyone was super nice and friendly.

They honestly had me at one simple question about my iced coffee order - "do you want water ice cubes or coffee ice cubes?" PFFT!! is that even a question? That's my gut reactor response to this question each time I'm asked and it's so made me a customer for lifffeeee. Like if you live in boston or nyc I bet this is commonplace for you and you can enjoy a laugh over this as you grip your phone pinky up - but for sweet old Holden mass it's like a tractor beam and I'm stepping in... willingly. my parents greatly enjoy the pastry from this place and I try to surprise them with something new each time. Haven't had anything I haven't liked thus far. I know there are drive through options nearby but this is 100000% worth the stop !

Second, the "Italian herbs and cheese" was nearly white bread. Barely any herbs, and pretty sure there was no cheese. It ALMOST resembled the herbs and cheese, but they definitely were stingy on the flavors/seasonings. Third, OMG THEY ARE STINGY ON VEGGIES. On a foot long, they gave FOUR tomatoes, FIVE pickles, and TWO banana peppers. Asking for extra of everything should not be a standard at a subway. Fourth, I asked for "a little" honey mustard and they pretty much dumped the container on the sub. Cost me $7.45. I only ordered a footling ham with veggies. Nothing special. I asked if that was correct and apparently it was. Not going back here. This location needs to do better.

I just paid $12 for a Doublemelt and was served a soggy sandwich with NO cheese, almost no meat, and microwaved soggy bread. Disgusting. Unfortunately no one at the franchise speaks English and had zero interest in correcting it. On previous visits I have been denied lettuce and tomato, and CHARGED EXTRA for a measly T of guacamole ON A SANDWICH THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE GUACAMOLE. They haven't a clue how to make the items on their own menu, and don't care. Stay far away!!

Today I woke up earlier than usual and I didn't feel like waiting for my usual lunch places to open up and I searched around and found this place. The Savory Skillet is a great name that makes me think I'm about to eat something delicious. Located on Summer St, Fitchburg and basically across the street from the TD Bank, this place is very easy to get to regardless of the time of day and and it has a very spacious parking lot surrounding the building. From quickly checking Satellite view, there's a generous ~30 spots to choose from. Fantastic! Upon entering, you get the usual cozy, very busy vibe of a breakfast diner. Dozens of voices overlapping one another and waitresses power walking everywhere trying to keep up with orders. This is why wife's first time in an American breakfast diner too, so it was cool to see her reaction. Staff were quick and polite and they checked up on us when we were about halfway through the meal. Perfect. I hate it when waitresses ask when I've hardly taken two bites. I'll be honest, the biggest draw for me to this location was that Yelp had a very pitiful variety of food pictures. I want to change that. Eggs Cortec ; under the Benedict Specials section ; Full Plate size ; subbed the home fries for hash browns ; Oh my lord, everything was cooked to PERFECTION. Eggs were jammy, the English muffins were delicately crispy, the sausage was not dry, and the hash browns were awesome and crunchy. The hollandaise was delicious as well and I devoured by my plate. 10/10. Holy Cannoli ; under the Belgian Waffles section ; this one was a winner too. The waffle was crispy and the inside was still fluffy. The whipped cream over the Italian cream was a really good combination that wasn't overly sweet. Wifey has a small appetite so we both ate half of it and enjoyed this a lot! I might need to reconsider my stance on getting breakfast. I left this place with a full stomach and EXTREMELY satisfied.
