    Felt welcome as soon as I walked in! Busy Sunday morning but I was able to sit at the "bar" diner area and order the yummiest item I've never , spicy chourico with eggs and house potatoes!! The ladies were so sweet and the restaurant is cute and tiny but accommodating! Gives a vintage feel!

    Just devoured another incredible breakfast at Bread & Butter Diner in Boylston! Huge props to Cindy, Chef Chris, & the crew for consistently bringing the heat. The hash bowl was a masterpiece - fresh shredded corn beef, over-easy eggs, & a hint of horseradish crema on top of perfectly cooked potatoes. And let's not forget the Portuguese sweet bread! We are huge fans of baked beans had to give them a try, & the crispy topping was the perfect touch Chourico & fruit parfait were the perfect finishing touches.

    The waitress told us that they would be on Chronicle soon, but having visited Bread & Butter Diner enroute to Tower Hill Botanical Garden, I can say, I knew them before they got famous! Since they had two tables outside to the side, in the shade, I popped my head in and asked if we could sit out there, and would we need to order inside first? Nope, she brought us menus and later our drinks, food and utensils. Being two light-weights, we ended up sharing a sandwich and a side and was fully satisfied. We picked the Bifana $14 (pan fried pork cutlet topped with a fried egg served with Portuguese gravy) off the lunch menu (11am-3pm), and a $5 side of hash Corned Beef) from their breakfast menu (6:30am till 3pm). With the option of French fries, chips, or pasta salad alongside the sandwich, we picked the pasta and were pleased. As we were with the juicy sandwich with its soft bread. The hash was more than the name, as the stringy corned beef looked like it would be tough, but was rather crispy in a delicious way, and dressed with egg and potatoes with a dash of vegetables. We'd definitely would be back if it wasn't so out of the way for us.

    Decided to go to breakfast this morning only to be surprised we live near a Portuguese breakfast diner! Food - the hash was interesting, was more of an omelet mix with beef. The Portuguese Eggs Benedict was very tasty. The meat provided on the Benedict was the chef's take on Portuguese chourico, was a tad spicy but just enough for good flavor. Eggs and potato's were also done perfectly, no real issues there. Overall the food was decent and we'd like to try something else the next time we visit Service - friendly staff, we sat at the bar/counter and the waitress serving us was a champ with all the customers she had to handle. She was also very helpful in answering my questions about the dish since I'm familiar with Portuguese cuisine. Ambiance - cute little diner, didn't really get to see the seating area in the back with tables, but the counter/bar area was clean and decent. I'd say we will be back to try some other dishes and possibly come back for the bifana for lunch!

    The food. Amazing presentation along with exceptional taste and flavors. Quick entertaining service from Annie! She is engaging and full of joy! Love the old diner feel and the colorful menu board. Cash only. Breakfast and Lunch. Terrific, local place.

    Stopped by Bread and Butter Diner today and it hit the spot--exactly what I needed during allergy season. I ordered the clam chowder and a side of French fries, and both were perfect. The chowder was warm, creamy, and full of flavor--soothing on a scratchy throat and comforting in every way. The fries were crispy and golden, the perfect side to round out the meal. Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere made it even better. Definitely coming back when I need a little comfort food and a break from the allergies!

    While visiting the area we stopped in for breakfast, go check it out. We ordered the chicken and waffles which was very flavorful and enough for two people easy, the French toast and the Western omelet with onions, peppers, ham and cheddar cheese with a side of hashbrown potatoes and toast. The service was pleasant and helpful. We definitely plan to return. Remember they accept cash or Venmo only there. It reminded me of a local Waffle House with diner chairs and tables for families and groups.

    Fried Chicken Sandwich with Pasta Salad

    Bread and Butter Diner is a train car with a dining room attached . I ate at the bar. Learned all about Worcester Diners. Bread and Butter is Diner #586 . I had the fried chicken sandwich with pasta salad. Both were great. Chef Chris did an amazing job and server Annie was delightful.

    Guess who showed up in Boylston Massachusetts! On the honky-tonk 140 corridor? Former head chef at Amaia and the beloved, but defunct Fish Restaurant, and Wine bar drumroll please! Chef Bairos! Looking refreshed and as passionate as ever, he has emerged in this adorable little diner to do what he does best and loves the most - cook with heart and soul, and feed people. I talked to a couple of the very happy diners here, one of them had to jump over a heaping plate of fried chicken and waffles. It was so big! It was climbing Mount Everest chicken-ness. Her mom was feasting on gluten-free French toast, and was drooling, swooning and almost convulsed. Since he cracked away on my visit, I had to go for the lobster roll. His twist on lobster roll was totally ok in my book. A hint of herbs and country mustard, packed in the buttery toasted roll... mmm so good. I didn't go with the BLT lobster roll (both specials of the day), because I wanted to just have LOBSTAH. LOTS of meat. Reasonably priced at $20.00. He's just starting, and as we expect from Chef... he's going to kill it! For now, be UBER PATIENT. The place is small, he's only been open for a handful of days and he is working on nailing down the flow, sourcing his stuff and working on his old recipes and coming up with new ones. Expect longer hours (right now only Bfast and lunch Tues-Friday), after Labor Day, when he will start opening weekends. He looks forward to dinner, his traditional plated, 3 course upper scale meal. It will be interesting to see how he pulls it off in this minute space with big heart. The home made hash was a bit messy for me, but the flavor was there (I'm not a fan of green pepper and it had quite a bit), meaty and juicy. The lobster bisque was a tad salty, but I brought home and added some cream. Delicious. Server was really sweet, but a bit off. Then again, they are learning the dance. Soon the choreo will be a Riverdance production. No doubt in my mind! There WILL be growing pains. But we know his food. The guy has a magic touch, and a great palate. Can't wait to come back. I'm coming back for bifana next!!! AND CHICKEN AND WAFFLES! Yeah. I'll be back!

    Stopped and ate twice on my way to and from Maine. Portuguese Benedict over chourico on a Portuguese muffin and the Corned Beef Hash Bowl were both excellent. Fresh coffee and attentive counter service made the place a delight. There is also a small dining room withNote cash or Venmo only (ATM in neighboring building).

The corned beef hash was excellent, and even as a picky pancake lover, I enjoyed mine. My partner ordered the country breakfast, but we received the wrong order with different specifications. We didn't notice immediately and started enjoying the hash. It took the servers about two minutes to realize the mistake and attempt bring us the correct order, they had hoped we hadn't started eating the hash meant for another customer. Although the mix-up was understandable, it was a bit frustrating not to get our raisin toast or runny, sunny-side-up eggs as expected. We stayed with the wrong order and our was brought back to the kitchen. The biggest drawback, however, is the outdated ambiance. I appreciate the vintage, long-time diner charm, but the decor needs some attention: the cups are showing wear, the shades are dusty, and the hallway to the bathroom feels cluttered. The bathroom itself could use a thorough cleaning, the soap dispenser was empty, and the backup pump wasn't working properly, making the space feel less sanitary. A small renovation to refresh the space while preserving its classic appeal would really enhance the overall experience.
