And just the taste isn't there. My wife and I went in there this past Saturday morning. Gentleman behind the counter was so awesome.... Very warm, and friendly, kind and really enjoyed talking to him. They even cut me some pork steak even though they didn't have any out. That is what I'm talking about.!!! Went above to help out. We've only tried the hamburger. Which was delicious...looking forward to trying all that we bought. I find these negative reviews not accurate at all. Even the lady at check out was a delight to talk too. Very peppy and kind. Based on the service alone I KNOW I'll be back....

My 4-H daughter went to Owens on behalf of our poultry club to ask for a sausage donation for our annual fundraiser breakfast. The owner was purposely intimidating and even swore at her twice. We could have gone back and met his unnecessary list of demands for the donation, but after being treated so horribly by the owner, I'll never set foot in the store again. I'll be sure to spread the word.

They turned out to be the best beef snack sticks I'd ever tried. So, the next time I was in town with my wife from Columbus, OH, I made it a point to stop by and pick up some more. Her team found out how much I liked them, and on her last visit, they got even more for her to bring home to me. The store owner (I'm guessing his name is John, though I can't say for sure) loved the story so much that he sent back a huge selection of snack sticks and summer sausage, plus a display box that now has a spot in my office. Everything was absolutely delicious. I'll definitely drop by again to express my gratitude next time I'm in town. Great people. Until then, thank you! I highly recommend the regular plain snack sticks--they're my favorite. Don't sleep on the ends and pieces packaging. It's the same product, just the ends and pieces that don't make it into the pretty packaging. A great economical way to get more. Also love the old timey downtown store charm.
