Our server was really good and the food was really good. We tried the non-alcoholic guava mule. The guava was nice and sweet and complimented the spicy of the ginger beer. We ordered a French onion soup, steak Diane, and a beef Wellington. The entrees came with choice of salad. We tried one of each , house Gibby salad and the blue cheese wedge. This was a lot of food for us. The French onion soup was my favorite, good flavor, lots of onions and that nice browned cheese top. Both salads were good, the house salad was a little lighter since the blue cheese wedge salad had a rich blue cheese dressing and bacon bits on top. The steak and beef Wellington was also good. In general, we ordered medium rare, it was a little bit rarer than I expected but not I'd edible. So something to think about if you need your meat to be cooked more. The prices seemed fair for a steakhouse and for the amount of food we ate.

After three solid days of seafood in PEI, we wrapped up our vacation in Montreal with a reservation…read moreat Gibbys for steak and cocktails. Walking in, the atmosphere struck me--it's dark and cozy, but still well lit enough to feel inviting. We were seated right away. I was a little worried about how we were dressed, but the vibe turned out to be pretty flexible. We saw everything from nicely dressed couples to a bachelor party--complete with the groom-to-be in a hotdog costume! The menu was straightforward but impressive. Every entrée comes with your choice of a Gibbys salad or a wedge salad with blue cheese, plus a potato (do yourself a favor and get the Monte Carlo--you'll thank me later). For my appetizer, I ordered the French onion soup. I've said before that certain restaurants have the "best" one, but this version may actually take the crown. It wasn't oily, and it was perfectly topped with a generous, melty layer of cheese--the way French onion soup should be. I followed that with the Gibbys salad and a 12-ounce filet. I love a good filet, and this one hit the mark. My husband went for the lamb with the wedge salad and enjoyed both thoroughly. By the end, we were far too stuffed for dessert, so we called it a night. If you're looking to splurge on a memorable, romantic dinner in Montreal, Gibbys is the place to go

This was our first time…read moregoing out on an actual real date in like forever well ever since the last lockdowns... so going out is like a jail free card on the monopoly board game lol and we're the players! Okayyy so we picked baton rouge as it was the closest and also the one that had a spot for us on a Friday night. As we walked in we were greeted by the hostess.. She was nice to us but to the folks in front of us (who were not in the same family house) she was pretty mean and obnoxious to... I mean if theyre on a date and they don't live together yet .. thats kinda tough to go out on dates if you only accept the 1 household bubble rule.. just didn't like the way she treated the people before us.. for us it was simple we got our spot pretty quickly with a reservation indeed. We sat near the exit with less people so it was great. Our waiter came in a jiffy got some Bloody Marry's and rum and coke for the hubby it was really delish!!! Definitely recommend the bloody marry's ! We decided to eat healthy .. so we sticked with the salad meal as our dinner with grilled chicken it was good but next time ill ask for the dressing on the side it was drenched in dressing and didn't feel so light ! The grilled chicken was good ! My husband had the sante fe dish pretty good he said! Chicken breast was cooked nice and the goat cheese was yummy I ever snatched a few bites. Overall service and food was great quick and super attentive.. I just wished the hostess would be more understanding and kinder to the customers walking in even if they don't know all the rules that keep changing every single day.. at least be more polite and make them feel welcomed instead of shaming them.. in the end without customers you wouldn't have a job... so be kind and respectful ! We might go back the waiter and the food were +++++5!!! So maybe talk to your hostess !
