Came for the pork dumplings and the orange chicken and they didn't disappoint. Had a Dos Equis to wash it all down

Coming back from Montreal, we were craving some good Desi food, and Yelp pointed us toward a couple…read moreof places. We decided to try Indian Grill--and honestly, from the outside, you would never guess that this is a fine restaurant with great food and excellent service! We ordered dahi gappe, pakoras, the Desi Thai curry that was recommended to us, a chicken curry, samosas, rice, and tandoori roti. Quite a spread! The dahi gappe were the real standout for me. They came with their own little cup of sweet yogurt, which reminded me a bit of lassi, while the crispy homemade gappe were filled with chana and potato. I've had my fair share of gappe, and these were simply exquisite. So many flavors and textures at once--the sweet, tangy, spicy, creamy and, of course, that fantastic crunch. Delicious! The rice was also spot on. Long-grain, perfectly cooked, with each grain holding its own. None of that mushy, stew-like or oatmeal texture--just how rice should be--and the flavor was right where it needed to be. Both chicken dishes were tender and flavorful, with the meat pairing really well with both the coconut-based yellow sauce and the richer red sauce. The samosas had their own distinct character, more in line with the Indian-style samosas than the Pakistani version I'm more accustomed to. Different, but very good! The ambiance was calm and inviting, and the interior was surprisingly nice. But what really topped everything off was the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. Their recommendations were spot on, and they clearly knew their menu. If I have to be picky, the music could have been a little quieter. In a restaurant like this, I prefer music at true background volume so you can focus on the food and conversation. But that's a very minor point and certainly didn't take away from the experience. We'll definitely stop by again whenever we're in the area. A great find in Plattsburgh

This was my first time here. I heard their buffet is great but I ordered my meal to-go. I got…read moreChicken Vindaloo (spicy) with a side of garlic Naan. The Chicken Vindaloo was so flavorful and the spice level was perfect. The sauce had a nice viscosity and the chicken was nice big pieces. Though they were tender, they were a little dry, and the rice was a little plain. As for the garlic Naan, is was soft and came with 3 unique sauces. Each were different but were fresh and added incredible uniqueness to the meal. I especially liked the green sauce and the pink pickled peppers. The whole dinner provided two meals. As for service, the person at the door was very warm and helpful with the menu. The inside of the resturant was very welcoming. Next time I'm in town, I look forward to trying their buffet. All of the food looked wonderful.

Waitress brought water right away and we could go to the buffet. Drinks came immediately . Buffet was lit up with red lights very hard to see the food and the items we not labeled . Not many choices on buffet. Egg rolls , Sweet and sour chicken and chicken wings are good. The won ton soup delicious. The other items fried rice, lo mein, goulash, chow mein, were mediocre at best. For one soda and two adults to eat buffet was $40.60. Then 20% tip, waitress deserved it, she was nice. Not sure why take out menu has more items or they don't offer that same menu for dine in.

The people at…read morethe counter or receiving area was a little grumpy and all-business like when we came in to inquire about the food and pricing. There was no warmth or cordiality to the interaction. I also do not understand why they had to use red lights at the buffet table. It is hard to make out how the food looked with the red spotlights directed onto it. You will only ever see the food clearly upon bringing it back to the dining table. There were also no labels for the food. It will be nice to have some captioning or description as to what the dish is. (i.e. mixed vegetables, pork spring rolls, general Tao chicken, sweet & sour pork, etc.) I came in with my Muslim friend and he had to inquire which dishes had pork in them. The saving grace of it all was the really good price for the meal. Dinner was just $14.95 ($16.90 with tax) per adult individual. For the amount of food you can consume that is really fantastic value.
