When we arrived, the staff gave him a difficult time about bringing his service dog into the restaurant and even tried to move our table because of it. It was embarrassing and completely unnecessary. We ultimately had to call the police. The responding officer explained to the restaurant that they were mistaken and that my father's guide dog is a legally protected service animal that must be allowed to accompany him. No family should have to experience this while simply trying to enjoy a meal together. We hope the owners take this as an opportunity to properly educate their staff on the rights of individuals with disabilities and how to respectfully welcome customers who rely on service animals. Sadly, after being treated this way, we will not be returning.
