[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very large location with both indoor and outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Nice large Venue and pretty quick service. Has American staples. Affordable and good quality for the portion/ price. Nice go to spot

    We'll be back Monday!!!

Four of us came to the Maple Tree Cafe for dinner on a Friday evening, when a Talcott Mountain concert attracted almost everyone else in town. We were seated promptly, greeted, given regular, beverage and daily special menus. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Maple tree used to be a dive bar that I frequented many many years ago...but has since greatly upgraded their atmosphere, bar, and food offerings.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a cup of NE clam chowder, and their Fish n Chips - I've been having a fish jones for a while since our go-to place in Hartford closed last year. The chowder was decent, perhaps a bit on the thyme-y side, but still enjoyable. We also ordered a meatball appetizer, served with a ribbon of marinara sauce. Yum! My Fish n Chips hit the spot, with four nice-sized chunks of well-cooked fish on a bed of curly fries...all steaming hot. Served with Cole slaw and tartar sauce, it was quite satisfying. Our server and plate runners were both very nice, and responsive to our requests. All in all, a delightful evening. We shall return!

Patio lunch: great margs, not shabby sweet potato fries, and a nice Ruben! (Buttery and a little messy as it should be) and holds a crunch. Love this spot for live music and the bar, but 3 stars my for my partner getting sick from the cob salad with chicken afterwards. Everything else was good!

Had an AMAZING time at the Maple Tree Cafe tonight. Sat at the bar and was served by Ken who provided great conversation. Ordered fried mozzarella as an appetizer and had a chipotle chicken bacon panini, both were fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the pulled pork Mac and cheese which was also very good, and we shared a cheese pizza which is one of the best in the area. We left with plenty of leftovers. Drink menu had great depth, we will definitely be back!

Such a cozy atmosphere! I had the fried asparagus appetizer - SO good!!! The butternut ravioli was the best I have had. It felt like fall in a bowl! I tried the house G&T from the cocktail list and as a G&T fan, I absolutely loved it! Service was very prompt. I didn't feel like I waited long for anything. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Everything from the dining hall to the bathroom was spotlessly clean. Went with some girlfriends and will definitely be going back with my husband!!! I am excited to try their brunch!

Had a nice lunch there today. The restaurant was pretty empty but the bar was very crowded with regulars on their barstools, ringing the bar like a picture frame. Its a pretty ambitious menu with nearly 20 appetizers ranging from inexpensive (garlic bread for $2) to wings (15 pcs for $13) and from the ordinary (fried mozzarella) to the unexpected (crab cakes). We had a Cobb Salad ($11) and a Chicken Quesadilla ($10). The salad was good, but in an average-good way. The Quesadilla was advertised as being served with sour cream, guacamole and salsa, but when it came out of the kitchen, the guac was missing. We asked the server about it, and she said that not everyone likes guac, so she doesn't bring it out unless it is specifically asked for.. Thats a minus one point. The salsa was fantastic, and when I mentioned to her that I liked it, she chimed in that it was home-made -- so they get that deducted point back. We asked for the leftover quesadillas to be boxed up, and when she brought them back from the kitchen, she said she added some extra guac for us. That's a bonus point. I checked out the dinner menu and saw a lot of chickens and veals and pastas and chops and seafood in the $13 - $20 range. Not cheap, but not out of this world high either. I might have to stop back on the way home from work on Thursday- in honor of the start of the baseball season, they have an Opening Day special-- $2 beers and you keep your Yankee or Red Sox glass. Now that's what I call Customer Service !!

Take advantage of this perfect summertime porch!

Decent pub food. The outdoor patio is the draw, but with Amelia's now across the street, The Maple Tree would be the second choice.

Pretty area but I was honestly thinking it was going to be more quaint and romantic. It was not. The area is somewhat narrow which makes tables spaced close together and it's really not that private. But the space is nicely decorated and if you sit on the right side (which we did), you're right in front of the waterfall. I would try the dining room next time just to compare. Our server Anthony was professional, kind of and accommodating. We started with cocktails - I had a creative gin drink called Dot Dot Dot. My husband loved his Old Fashioned - he meant to ask what type of bourbon they used because he thought it was very good. With the tasting menu - many of the options apparently change regularly though based off other reviews it appears there may be similar options from time to time. We started with their Johnny Cakes which the waiter said the restaurant is known for. Another reviewer ranked them a 7.5/10 and I couldn't disagree more. They were one of the tastiest bites I've eaten in a while. Crispy, buttery and divine. I thought they were to die for. Served with creamy honey sesame butter which was also delicious. My husband doesn't eat fish so for his amuse bouche he had a little puff served with cheese, that was amazing. For his first course - he had the Ricotta Raviolis. They were as beautiful as they were delicious. My amuse bouche was a tuna tartare that was a perfectly balanced bite. I had the Tapioca custard as my first course. The bacon was a bit too smokey for my taste and overpowered the dish in my opinion. It could have used a bit more liquid but it was a unique few bites. For our mains, my husband's porcini risotto was rich, creamy, and full of earthy flavor. I had the bass with cauliflowerini, golden raisin-caper gremolata, Marcona almonds, and a cauliflower purée--thoughtfully composed and very flavorful. The final savory course was a crispy duck breast with port-poached pear, port reduction, and sweet potato purée, which was beautifully executed. Dessert was a pomegranate pavlova--crisp on the outside with that perfect soft, marshmallowy center. A delightful finish to the meal. Overall, the dishes were not only delicious but also thoughtfully composed and visually striking. It made for a memorable experience, and we're already looking forward to coming back--maybe in a different season to see how the menu evolves.

I'm always up to try new cafes , but to drive 40 min for a cafe when we have so many around us I was a little hesitant. But once we got there the restaurant was very nice , modern style with little greenery and bright / white anterior design . The staff was lovely they greeted us and sat us immediately. The menu had lots of options and something for everyone . I ordered the iced tiramisu latte and the ricotta hotcakes with Nutella and bananas . Which was amazing , very light and delicious ( I normally don't eat all my food because of large portions .. but I was given 3 ricotta hotcakes and I ate everything!! It was sooo good , very light and filling , highly recommend ! My sister ordered the VEGAN kimichi bowl which was really good as well . My mom ordered the mango soufflé pancakes which i tried and def worth the drive to try . Very light and fluffy cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. !! And presentation was beautiful My husband ordered the Korean fried chicken and waffles ! The waffles came in rose shape which was beautiful 10/10 for the presentation and taste . Again the fired chicken was still light ( and not to heavy ) Overall 10/10 great staff , great atmosphere and even better the food was delicious ( with lots of options and variety for everyone). Definitely worth the 40 min drive and I will definitely be back again !!!

Benny's came highly recommended and lived up to its plaudits. My four friends all had the hungry man special....two eggs, a choice of meat, and either two pancakes, two French toast, or a waffle. I don't follow the crowd, and opted for a CYO (create your own) 3 egg omelet (with a choice of 3 fillings...I chose sausage, spinach, and feta). My omelet also came w toast (rye for me) and either home fries or shredded potatoes. Our server, Victoria, was great. Attentive, capable, affable. She kept us caffeinated and seemed to have roller skates on and octopus arms (that's a good thing). Everyone's food looked great, but I really need to describe mine. The omelet was light and fluffy, and soooo delicious. The right amount of ingredients. The potatoes were actually like a potato pancake - crunchy on the outside, light inside. It rivaled those made in a place like Rein's in Vernon. Even the rye toast was perfect. A substantial crust and that subtle caraway taste. You know when you have a bunch of really good food on your plate and you can't decide what to end on. That's how it was for me.. tough choice between the omelet and potato pancake. One quibble - coffee a bit pricey at $3.35 a cup. But unlimited refills. I polled the other 4. Three said 5 stars (even Demanding Dan). Regardless of what they say, for me it was 5 stars!
