First time coming to blossom cafe which was Recommended to me by a friend , and to try the famous Japanese soufflé pancakes ! I'm always up to try new cafes , but to drive 40 min for a cafe when we have so many around us I was a little hesitant. But once we got there the restaurant was very nice , modern style with little greenery and bright / white anterior design . The staff was lovely they greeted us and sat us immediately. The menu had lots of options and something for everyone . I ordered the iced tiramisu latte and the ricotta hotcakes with Nutella and bananas . Which was amazing , very light and delicious ( I normally don't eat all my food because of large portions .. but I was given 3 ricotta hotcakes and I ate everything!! It was sooo good , very light and filling , highly recommend ! My sister ordered the VEGAN kimichi bowl which was really good as well . My mom ordered the mango soufflé pancakes which i tried and def worth the drive to try . Very light and fluffy cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. !! And presentation was beautiful My husband ordered the Korean fried chicken and waffles ! The waffles came in rose shape which was beautiful 10/10 for the presentation and taste . Again the fired chicken was still light ( and not to heavy ) Overall 10/10 great staff , great atmosphere and even better the food was delicious ( with lots of options and variety for everyone). I loved dropping in at Blossom Cafe for breakfast! I went with my daughter and we chose wherever we wanted to sit on a Friday morning. The ambiance is really chic and cute. Their summer menu feels so creative and unique. It made me want to return regularly to check out what else they have come up with. I ordered the rose latte and the scallion pancake breakfast sandwich. I have never had anything like it before! Whoever thought of it is brilliant. It's a scallion pancake and it is stuffed with sausage and eggs. It is so delicious and satisfying. It comes with a side of sweet potato fries, and of course my daughter loved that. Also I wanted to shout out the waiters, who are really nice and attentive! The only reason I'm not giving five stars is that they don't have pastries! I wonder why. I loved my visit to Blossom café a few weeks ago. The mint lemonade was fresh & the perfect type of mint (slightly muggy, not too minty or earthy). The scallion pancake sandwich was great and came with a side. I felt it didnt need the chili oil cups and would have preferred to have soy or ponzu on the side. Indoors the ambiance is wonderful. It looks like they have an outdoors porch but I didnt ask if it was open. I would reccomend Blossom Café to anyone looking for a breakfast with a beautiful atmosphere and fun menu items. This place hits all the marks! Absolutely perfect decor, parking available behind the restaurant or on the street, super friendly service, good drinks, and great food. Started with a lychee mocktail that was just the right amount of sweet, hubs had a hot tea (authentic cast iron tea pots). We got two orders of the Japanese soufflé pancakes that are only available on weekends - ube and strawberry. And we split an egg tomato cheddar arugula sandwich with lotus chips side. They did a great job by splitting the sandwich and chips for us without asking and gave us extra plates for the pancakes so we could sample each others. Having recently been to Japan, we were happy to go to a place that serves some of the food we fell in love with! We had to get the souffle pancakes-- only 2 (vs 3 in Japan) but flavor is similar! Tucked away from street view, this place is a little gem and adds personality to town We arrived early on a Sunday morning for breakfast and were instantly welcomed by the bright and modern interior. They have a selection of Asian inspired items like bulgogi, karrage chicken with waffles, lotus root chips (yum) and Japanese souffle pancakes, along with egg sandwiches and breakfast platters. Portions are regular sized and you won't be stuffed afterwards unless you have a small appetite. While i would summarize the food as good but not amazing, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and service. And the matcha latte was unsweetened and creamy which was also a plus. Food wasn't super fast to appear but also nothing to complain about. They have a sign that you'll be limited to 90 minutes because it gets busy. Bathrooms are inside the adjoining building so you have to walk out of the restaurant space. This spot has been on my got to try breakfast/brunch list for quite some time. Also love that there was plenty of free street and private lot parking. It is a lot larger on the inside than I expected. We were seated in the quieter of the two dining areas. It was quite busy on a Saturday morning. There was even a sign at the door warning patrons that there was a 90 minute dining limit and reservations were encouraged. Not sure if that is just for weekends or not. I was not bothered by it and knew that just meant it has fast become a local favorite. We did not have reservations but were seated pretty quickly. Our server was very nice and attentive to our table despite being extremely busy. We decided on mocktails( which were very good), the soufflé pancakes and sides of bacon and eggs. I have tried their katsu sandwich, chinese chicken salad, matcha latte, and their lychee dragon mocktail. The drinks are lovely, the matcha is of avery good quality and appropriately strong so that you can taste the matcha, and the lychee dragon was effervescent and refreshing. The food, while a little pricey, was also delicious. We enjoyed having our brunch in their beautifully decorated, clean space with comfortable booths. The waitresses were also very attentive and pleasant. I wish they had counter service for their drinks or a dedicated walk-in section because I would love to enjoy a drink inside like you would do at a cafe, because the matcha lattes really are good. I would recommend going on a weekday because as walk-ins on a Sunday at 9:45 AM we were told to "please leave by 11" for people who had reservations for brunch. Blossom replaces McLadden's and the Iron Frog and switches the kitchen's focus from Pub style to Asian Fusion and Breakfast. So if you ever find yourself in the mood for some Hong Kong Toast or Lotus Root Chips or Hottoteki Pancakes or a Kimchi Bowl, Katsu or Bulgogi, you'll find them on Blossom Café's menu. Our first impression of the dining room was that it is striking, clearly an upgrade from how we remember McLadden's. There's a gorgeous copper ceiling, light wood paneling and flooring, beige furniture and a seating nook with a sweet, coffered ceiling. The design team gets an A+. We were there between meals, so just had a cold coffee drink and split a side order to munch on. Our Iced Tiramisu Shaken Espresso ($7.50) and Iced Americano ($5.50) were each 12-oz glasses and both were excellent. The Tiramisu was topped with a cinnamon layer and was mildly sweet. Very refreshing on a hot day. We shared a Side Order of Lotus Roots Chips and they were phenomenal. The thin slices were fried into delicate crunchy pieces as beautiful as snowflakes. Their taste reminded me of the French-Fried Onions that topped the Green Bean Casseroles you probably bring to the table every Thanksgiving. Our mid-afternoon snack totaled $19.50 before tax and tip. Blossom is a perfect fit for the center of Simsbury. The indoor decor is stunning and almost sparkling. I saw some beautiful and cozy looking booths and the bar is just elegant. Today was a perfect weather day so we opted for the outdoor deck seating, which I have always loved about this building. It's just such a beautiful setting with where the deck is located and the umbrellas offered the perfect amount of shading. I want to also mention that the wait staff and everyone working there was so warm and pleasant! It truly added to the already pleasant atmosphere. So I've purposely delayed mentioning the food... which looked & tasted wonderful, and was prepared quickly and served at the right temperature... because I hate being a negative Nelly! And truly I love this place and will be back, maybe for lunch next time! My only complaint is that there weren't any egg plates offered on the menu, and the egg sandwiches (closest to an egg or omelet entree) didn't have a gluten free bread option and I didn't see a fresh fruit or healthy side (egg sandwiches come with 1 side), except for the kimchi... which in my opinion is a very acquired taste, that I haven't developed yet. So I ordered my sandwich deconstructed, but didn't realize the eggs would be smothered in cheese. Everything else was perfection here. Just beware if you like to be gluten free, load up on protein and order as healthily as you can, just be prepared so you aren't disappointed. I did eat half the bun and it was delicious! The hash brown and sausage patty left me wishing there was more of them (so good). My friends enjoyed their French toast very much. If Blossom would add a "Make your Own Omelette" option, and some fruit to the sides, I would have been even more delighted. 5 stars because my disappointment was merely a food preference (I only choose to be mostly gluten free). read more

What an unexpectedly amazing find! I almost didn't want to write a review so that I could keep this place a secret, but I also want people to give the place a try because it's so good! The Korean sandos are delicious and just large enough to be filling, and the soufflé pancakes are sweet without being overly so, and light (they are only made on Thursdays-Sundays though). The coffee is also really well-made, and Bloody Marys are made with Zing Zang mixer, which I love (it's peppery rather than horseradishy). The prices are not high for the area, and the decor is really cute. In good weather, you can sit on the deck. The service is also good; servers are attentive but not overly solicitous. The restaurant has ample parking because it is in a building with other businesses. It is up the staircase as you enter from the parking lot. You can also see the paved linear Farmington Canal Trail from the windows, with a nice view of the Metacomet ridge, so if you wanted to take a quick bike ride, walk, or run to work up an appetite before breakfast, you could take advantage of its proximity! read more

The dining room has a wonderful open airy space, flanked by plants which gave it a wonderful energy ideal for dining and enjoying the company of your party. My friend who recommended this cafe had a mango version which was not available but Apple crumb was a delicious option they also have strawberry and on the day of my visit a vanilla version. No syrup is needed as the pancakes are pillow clouds of heaven and compliments your flavor selection. The beverages are pricey but again the gentlemen stationed at the bar prepared each one with love and care I could taste his passion. My son had the brown sugar latte and my daughter law had the strawberry lemonade. She also suggested to order hottokeki's first as they take a little longer to make. Again the cellular service in the rear was terrible so I'm so thankful for the WiFi so I could check in! It's so great to see a fun and unique place open up. Even better to report that it is really really good too. The menu is a nice change from standard fare with an Asian flare to it. We came with a big group on a Sunday and there's plenty of room inside. We had such friendly service chatting about the dishes and suggestions too. The interior is also bright and relaxing- perfect for a casual brunch. We started with the Hottokeki (soufflé pancakes) that were so light and fluffy. We got the biscoff version. It's perfect for sharing as a little app before the main dishes. The coffee was very tasty. I got a flat white that was freshly brewed. It came out warm instead of hot but to each their own. Then on to the main dishes. I tried the Korean Egg Drop Sando which comes with marinated bulgogi, caramelized onion, egg, cheddar, kewpie mayo, gochujang sauce (mild or spicy). The bulgogi has so much flavor and it's a unique twist on a classic. It's served on toast but gets a little sloppy since the toast soaks up some the juices but I really enjoyed it. The karrage and waffles is also a standout worth the Japanese fried chicken being expertly done. The blossom Benny had such creamy smoked salmon -- some of the best we've had in ages. The poached egg was a little runny but it's a terrific little dish. The Hong Kong toast is another standout. It may look small but it's a thick rich dish. (I'd serve it on a bigger plate but it was delish). And the blossom brekkie is huge. Also comes with good hash browns which strangely aren't listed as an official side dish. Overall this is an absolutely terrific new place, well worth the effort for brunch all week long. Looking forward to some lunch dishes too. As they've just opened, I expect they can make a few tweaks like adding a hash brown or home fries instead of just fries as a side or adding bacon or sausage as sides too. And it's still be nice for a bottomless coffee (or perhaps one refill) of coffee for those that like a hot coffee with their meal itself. Saw this place on instagram and I've ALWAYS wanted to try a soufflé pancake. I made the trek down and arrived to a very quaint and cute spot. The interior design is very comforting. They have two rooms. The main room was a bit busier but the secondary room was more quieter with three other parties dining. The music playlist very ambient and chill and not too loud, giving good background noise. On to the food. I ordered a match latte. It was not sweet, if you do not like very sweet drinks then this is perfect. Matcha is not strong nor is the coffee. I ordered a matcha strawberry soufflé pancake. It took about 15 minutes to come to my table. The presentation was beautiful. The consistency was so light and airy. Topped with dense matcha crema and strawberries was a great combo that made this such a decadent treat. I also had a side of hasbrowns which is similar to the Korean pancake pajeon. It had scallions and was herbaceous. I did get a soufflé pancake to go, the waitress did warn me that it might deflate, but it did last the hour drive back home with minimal deflation. Everyone was kind and it was a great place to just write and read peacefully. I like to eat so I would recommend like someone else said maybe order two orders of the pancakes because it may not fill you up. I will do that next time. I will be back and definitely recommend. This place is located in a lovely area with some other great spots. The restaurant is spacious and it was quite sunny that day. They have lots of large windows to let in all of the light. I did not get a mimosa or any of their other alcoholic breakfast beverages, but was excited to see the listing. I did get a most amazing honey nut latte. Oh my. It was soooo lovely. It went perfectly with my light, airy pancakes which were perfection. They had the perfect jiggle and cloudy flavor. I was a tad hungry after because they are that light, so I recommend splitting something else with friends if you want to walk out with that full brunch belly. If not, there will be room for you to wander and sample away at some of the other lovely spots. My friend and I stopped by Blossom Cafe this afternoon for some lunch. I've never been here before and I was happy to see their menu is American with some Korean influence. We sat outside on their outdoor patio, on this beautiful day. The sun was shining, and we could see some of those foliage colors. My friend wanted the Bulgogi Sando, but she didn't want the bread of the sandwich. The waitress said they could make it without the sandwich. Our food was brought out quickly. My Kimchi bowl was so colorful and fresh. There was carrot, cucumber, tofu, avocado, rice and pickled onion. This was all so fresh and tasty. My friend's meal needed some bread with it. I saw an Instagram reel about Blossom cafe's Hottokeki (soufflé pancakes) and HAD to go. I went today with two of my friends and toddler. The ambiance is amazing. Plants everywhere. Tons of natural lighting. It has the main room and another side room. My 19 month old was getting restless and I was walking with her around the place (it wasn't very crowded and she wanted to say high to everyone) I was told I could walk into the other room. I got the "principal" bacon egg and cheese because it had a hashbrown on it. It was so simple and but so well done. I love perfected food. My friends both got the brekkie platter and adored it. We came early in the morning and were probably the first ones there for sit down. The space is beautifully decorated with hints of Japanese themes. Every table had real flowers. The service was very friendly and helpful. We started with an americano and matcha tea, both were excellent. Next came out the karage and waffles which was the perfect combination of savory and sweet and the arugula gave it a hint of refreshing taste. The hottokeiki came out last as our server warned us about at the beginning. It was beautiful and delicious. If you're getting the hottokeiki and with a group, would suggest doing more family style dining and share the food, otherwise you may be left watching others eat for quite a while.
