Maplehofe Dairy is an old style dairy store where you bring your gallon glass milk jugs in to get refilled and pick up some local groceries from the Amish community. Need a 40 lb. Sack of potatoes? They got it. Home made hard candy? That have that too. We visited to eat at the deli and taste the hand dipped ice cream. You cannot purchase a fresh made deli sandwich over the counter. However, they have sandwiches in the cooler made prior for sale. Ice cream was delicious with fresh made waffle cones. Don't expect a fancy storefront and wide isles. This place probably looks the way it was way back in the day. It was a good pit stop for us while visiting the Pennsylvania Dutch country. read more

Took a little trip north from Baltimore to visit this place after hearing about it from a co-worker. It was a spot-on recommendation! This place was a wonderful little shop full of some grocery goods, candies, a small deli counter, and best of all, an ice cream counter! Absolutely delicious ice cream, apx. 30 flavor offerings which can be served in cup, cones, in sundaes, or shakes. Sugar cones available and they also have homemade waffle cones (that are available to purchase in a six-pack to take home for only $3.75!) that are folded inside on the bottom so your ice cream doesn't leak out the tip. Ice cream prices very reasonable, especially for the serving size you get. My family got 2 small shakes, and two of their specialty sundaes, which were each 2-scoops of your choice of ice cream and layered with sauces and nuts both UNDER and atop the ice cream (also had whipped cream and cherry on top), and our total was less than $15. Counter girl was quick, efficient, and pleasant. We'll be back for sure!! read more

We purchased two products from Maplehofe Dairy at Central Market about two weeks ago. One was a quart of cream line milk and the other was a small regular cream. Later that evening I was going to pour some of the creamline milk and noticed the sell by date was three days earlier. After tasting the milk I do believe it was starting to turn. Next day I was going to use the cream for my coffee. The cream was in date but the next day there was no doubt this product was starting to sour. I called the main store to tell them about my situation and all they said was I'm sorry, no offer of replacement or refund. We went to the Central Market location yesterday and the clerk behind the counter also only apologized and offered nothing. This company did nothing to keep a customer.
