We had such a lovely dinner here! It's such a unique experience to be seated with white tablecloths and your feet in the water service was very kind and attentive and assured me while there were no vegan options on the menu, all vegetarian options could be made vegan. I would really appreciate if options were listed as vegan for piece of mind, but I ordered the eggplant tostada and cauliflower dish and both were pretty good! We had an ideal table overlooking the sunset and no rush at all from employees-enjoyed 3 lovely hours viewing the beach and sunset. The food isn't extraordinary but I would say the experience was :)
Wanted to check out the unique experience as I've seen on a few PV YouTube videos and was completely disappointed. From the moment I arrived, the hostess was super busy chatting it up with a couple of the waiters. That should have been my first clue to leave. A solid 5 mins of me awkwardly standing there passed until I finally interrupted and asked if this was where I check in for a table. After being seated and waiting for what felt like a long time, a different waiter came by to take my drink order. When he brought the beverage, I asked about some of the dishes that were pictured and posted on Yelp. He said they no longer had that, only what's on the menu. So I started with a side house salad while I checked out the menu. 38 minutes went by. Not once did the waiter come back to ask if I was ready to order my main course, check for a drink refill or order something different. I walked myself back to the hostess counter and had to ask for my check from there as my waiter never came back. No apologies from anyone, no attempts to make things right, absolutely nothing. Maybe it's their perception that what they offer is so "unique" that customer experience doesn't really matter?! Who knows... What I do know is I will most certainly not be visiting this place again nor recommend it to my friends & family who visit PV regularly.

I read many reviews before coming here and a lot of them said it's worth it for the view but that the food isn't spectacular. A lot of people recommend just getting appetizers. We got the soft shell crab tacos and they were outstanding! Additionally we got the cheese stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon and it was also delicious. I recommend both and think they were both outstanding. I loved the experience so much and it is a must at sunset.
Ate lunch on the top with our feet soaked in the water. Cute concept. It's January and it was not busy at all. The food was all flavorful and all four of us were happy with no complaints. The mermaid gin drink was very refreshing and the espresso martini was good. I was surprised by the 3.6 star rating based on my experience.
Beautiful view and relaxing ambiance letting you soak your feet in warm water while enjoying the view. The food was excellent and well presented. I had the Fig Salad which featured goat cheese and walnuts presented in a lettuce shell. The Grilled Octopus was grilled to perfection and presented with avocado and chipotle sauce on a bed of mashed potatoes. Generous portion yet light on the stomach. Great cocktails!
This was great experience. My food was good and the price was reasonable. I went at night so the vibe was more comfortable for me as I would have fried under the sun. lol So I started with the lobster bisque. It was really good. It was flavorful and the chunks of lobster were just enough. It was rich but not overly so. It was really "soppable" with the bread they serve. My only complaint was that it could have been served a few degrees hotter. My entree was the Mar Y Vino Prawns. These were good. The flavor was complex and smokey. Very good seasoning. Lightly salted though so if you are the type who likes saltier food, you may want to add some but it wasn't tasteless at all. The potatoes that come with it were excellent. The fried onions, the cheese....so tasty! I wish I could have had more of them. They were perfect. The salad that comes with it was simple but super flavorful. The skinned tomatoes were a nice touch and that's something I will do at home going forward. The service was good though, I will say I wished they stopped by my table more often. They were not particularly busy at the time of my dinner. So, I am not sure what the issue could have been. However, they were very pleasant when they came by. The atmosphere was great. The live violinist was a nice touch. And of course easting in the pool area is an experience. Very relaxing and different. This is what you come here for and pay for. That said, I liked my entree enough that I would actually come back for it. Or at the least, try to order those potatoes as a side to go.
I really liked this place. We wandered in with no reservations and they accommodated us. The food was really good. Unfortunately, they overcooked my partners steak. They offered to redo it but he was so hungry he said no. They brought complimentary fancy shots to the table to make up for it. Overall, super fun experience. It IS pretty pricey, so don't expect Mexico prices- think at least $150/couple with food and drink.
The decor is fabulous and very beautiful, great location for drink and chill. Interesting idea to have your feet in water as you eat, or be in a wicker cage or typical table. We came for dinner and unfortunately was disappointed on their food and service. Took 15 minutes to get the appetizers 3, raw items .... We wanted water along with our drinks and it took 30 minutes, including numerous prompts to staff. Party of 6 people, 2/3 meals were served cold. A friend ordered filete mignon which was cooked medium rare, served crust luke warm. It was sent back but after 2 minutes it appeared microwaved but no significant temperature difference. The rib eye was heavily connective tissue with minimal muscle fiber, cold and flavor was similar to fast food diner style. The new York steak was the best of the three.. The vultuno dish was pretty good, not filling but tasty. Mango shrimp was pretty good. The flank steak was delicious with the fried cheese was nice compliment. Red snapper was good. The appetizer of Sashimi was the best flavor. We had two types of shrimp ceviche, they were adequate.. it was kinda old looking, the shrimp had been decompose for a while from the citrus. Tres leches had interesting roasted nut topping. Pretty spot for drinks, plenty of other options to go for food.
I recommend coming here for the view and experience of sitting in the water. The food is very bad, so don't get a meal here. The drinks were OK -- they look great but lack taste. The food was almost inedible, which was very disappointing! When you make a reservation, make sure you ask to sit in the water!
This place is gorgeous! Was very easy to make a reservation online. Despite many reviews our food was pretty good, no complaints from the group. Only critique is my Paloma tasted like ginger ale and tequila. If you sit in the pool your feet will get pruny, not the best if you're wearing heels lol. Overall would recommend!

We knew coming to Mar y Vino that it was more for the ocean view and to dine in the water. It's not a locals place at all. Unfortunately, the breakfast service was poor, food wasn't great, and the menu was lacking. Amazing ocean view here that allows a unique dining experience. In the words of Chef Emeril Lagasse...Mar y Vino needs to "Kick it up a notch." Maybe a couple notch's. I ordered up the granola and yogurt with coffee. I attempted to order the locally made sweet breads on the menu to discover they were out. The granola and yogurt were okay tasting but I was hoping to find something more appealing on the menu. The wife ordered up an omelette with shrimp. It looked more like a shrimp ceviche omelette and it just didn't taste that good. Maybe it was a bad day? The poor food taste combined with the poor service just compounded a negative star count here. If looking for a great ocean view enjoy. If looking for excellent food with the view I'd pass. read more
Where to start with this place. Def make reservations. Service was so nice and friendly. Food was flavorful and don't right. The the pool to relax in while eating was on point. The view and live entertainment was hard to beat. A perfect spot for sure. read more

This was great experience. My food was good and the price was reasonable. This is a very unique dining that worth to try! Your feet will be plunging in a shallow pool throughout dining. Parking can be tricky to get here but it's really a beautiful scenery, delicious food and superb service!! We ordered crispy calamari, oyster, Mahi-mahi entree, soft shell crab taco, crab tacos with special sauce, shrimp cocktail. read more

Amazing experience! This place is tucked inside and across from one of the resorts, but it's so worth it! Views of the beach and sunset are fabulous. The food was excellent- they have good bread! I had the sashimi slices and then had the cheese stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon...so good and filling! Some of the dishes I saw others order were *huge* portions, so just keep that in mind when ordering. The drinks are pretty good too. Tell them you'd like to sit in the water pool, that is a one of a kind experience that you won't have at just any restaurant. They will provide a little bag for you to put your shoes or sandals in, and after you finish dining they have dry foot towels to dry your feet off. read more

We decided to try this place because of the aesthetics. The reviews weren't so good but we went in with an open mind. Our server was nice and attentive and our food was very well plated and tasted delightful. I will say the prices are pricey for it being in Mexico. They also charged us for still water that we didn't even drink go figure lol. Either way this place gives you a lovely view of the beach and makes for awesome pictures. we had an early lunch here and it was completely empty so reservations are probably not needed for lunch rather for dinner. The restrooms are also very clean and have personal hand towels to dry which made for a nice touch. read more

First of the views and ambience are amazing. It is a must do to dine with your feet in the water! Service was polite and friendly and also extremely professional. The drinks are a 10/10 and I highly recommend any of the craft cocktails! The crab tacos and shrimp stuffed child were tasty! A must do experience. read more

I do not recommend this restaurant. While the servers were nice, the food was absolutely terrible. The shrimp tasted like rubber toys and the sauce made everyone gag (shrimp tamarind). Additionally the peppers were gross and when we told the staff we didn't like it, they didn't want to remove it off our bill even though we didn't eat it. The ambiance and the decor is nice but I wouldn't do more than get a drink here. read more

A five day visit to Puerto Vallarta and I made reservations for Mar y Vino for my last night. We went at 7:30 to catch the sunset with our dinner. I have to say how impressed I was. Our table was ocean front in the infinity pool. We looked down on the beach as a man was proposing to his girlfriend. It is Zona Romantica after all. We ordered wine, a couple of soups and entrees. I had the Filet Mignon which came to the table perfectly cooked, had vegetables and a stuffed baked potato. The potion of meat was more than I could eat. Our server was terrific and very attentive. He was often checking on us making sure our wine glasses were full. After dinner we passed on deserts and not seeing it on the menu we asked if they had any Port. He went to check and came back with a bottle, we each had a glass and it was delicious. As the sun was getting ready to set the servers removed the umbrellas that had been giving us shade. Everyone in the restaurant was able to enjoy the beautiful Sunset. Our bill was $1,950 pesos (about $100) probably makes it a pretty fancy meal in Mexico but so well worth it. read more

I will 1000% be back! I loved dining in the shallow pool and watching the sunset with a beautiful, unobstructed view. The food was filling but light and so flavorful. The service was so kind and accommodating! They surprised my mother for her birthday trip, which I was so grateful and appreciative of their thoughtfulness. I will definitely be back when I visit Puerto Vallarta again! read more
Since it was a long way from Zona Romantica, what better place to stop to literally cool feet off !! Have lunch rooftop enjoying the views and parasailing above. It's always the food for me. Tacos great small portions, not a complaint but just the right amount to change the tastebuds. Try anything passion fruit, as I did !! Great flavor. The view are beautiful and relaxing. You forget it's a hit a humid sweaty afternoon. It's a must stop spot. read more

We were wandering along the beach, getting all the come-ons from the restaurant hosts & hostesses but we were being picky and reading all the menus. The host offered to show us upstairs to see the view despite the gentle rain and well, that sold it. We still looked around a bit more, but came back and we were very pleased! I had the pear salad and the catch of the day (mahi mahi) grilled with lime and my husband had the lobster bisque and then mummy shrimp. We both ate every bite, which was a bit too much to allow for dessert, but it was too tasty to leave anything! The food was very slightly saltier than we are used to but otherwise perfect. Maybe we will go back tonight for dessert We would have liked to sit in the water section but it had started to thunderstorm just as we were being seated so naturally that section was closed. If you're looking for a fun dining experience, this is a place to go. Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time as the best seats are always taken. This place has a good selection of wine and alcohol. The food was delicious and the views spectacular. If you go to Puerto Vallarta you should do this place at least once! Just make sure you don't go on a rainy day or when the sun is too bright. read more

It was great. Feet in the water while you dine. Beautiful sunset over the beach if you're there at the right time. Food was solid. 4 dinners, drinks, apps all for about $150 US. I bet the quality of service and food dip a bit during peak season, simply due to how busy they are, but in down season, it is a perfectly nice, relaxing time. Most of the complaints on here sound like they're from people in a rush. Take your time, and enjoy yourself. I know I did read more

I love, love, love this restaurant!! It's so cute, fancy and romantic!! We got there at sunset, the view of the ocean was breathtaking. They had dim cute lights and a guy walking from table to table playing saxophone. So romantic! Would definitely come again! read more
The ambience on this restaurant is spectacular with tables in the water and one of the best views of the ocean in Puerto Vallarta. We went for lunch. The menu was simple but interesting for drinks and food. We had crab tacos, a trio of ceviches, and tuna tostadas and they were all very tasty, especially the squid tacos. Note that tacos and ceviche are different in Puerto Vallarta than we are normally used to having in the US. The traditional ceviche in Puerta Vallarta made with ground fish, less lime and is drier. And the tacos are rolled and less filled . Unfortunately the cocktails sounded nice but they were really weak, tasted very juice. The staff were nice but the service was very slow , it took about 10 minutes to a server approach us and ten more to get our first drink . But again , no hard feelings about it because the view is amazing.The prices were very reasonable. I totally recommend this place for an enjoyable dinner . I guess at sunset time it should be a fantastic view and with a more extensive menu. read more

This spot is a definite VIBE!! Whether your at the bar or dinning with your feet in the water a absolute must in PVR. Food was great drinks were on point & the customer service is amazing. A great experience that I would go again to- make sure to make reservations!! read more
