My favorite place in the whole world (as i know it!). My mom and I have been coming here for years, staying at the LindoMar Resort, and enjoying Puerto Vallarta. This restaurant is a huge part of the experience. There have been changes over the years, but many of the core wait staff and bartenders are still there, always remembering us, and always treating us as friends. We enjoy having our breakfast, and always the fresh fruit platter, every morning downstairs without fail. It's so refreshing. The restaurant is open-aire, so you enjoy the surf and the sea life right from your table. We had the extreme pleasure of watching a baby whale swimming and playing right in front of the restaurant one morning. Absolutely phenomenal! The Happy Hour bell rings right at noon - and I drop everything to get up there! Great daily specials! Always fun trying something new. The bell rings again at 4:30, which is perfect since we eat early dinners to watch the sunset from our table. The menu is consistent and the food is delicious - try the fresh fish options! They have live music a couple times a week. And sometimes the neighboring resort has fireworks. I hope the corporate side of things doesn't take over too much so the abundance of charm and quality doesn't diminish. None the less, we'll be back again soon! read more

We took a three mile hike along the beachfront and back streets to get here. It was well worth the hike for the beautiful view from our table and the food. We got there right when lunch was beginning but you could order breakfast all day. We ordered some guacamole for the table to share which was very good especially with the pork rinds. Two of us had the chicken enchiladas, one had the pancakes, and one got the shrimp burrito. Our enchiladas were very tasty. The person who got the pancakes said they were the best she has had. They covered in fresh fruit. My wife enjoyed her burrito. It had plenty of shrimp. Servers were great throughout the meal. read more

Second great visit here--the views are spectacular and the service is sublime. We like walking from the romantic zone--just follow the beach stairs to the south. It's a lot of up and down, so you will be sweaty by the time you arrive (about 30 minutes). I enjoyed the veggie fajitas and refreshing lemonade. My husband had the portobello salad with fresh greens. Everything is great here and the views are unbeatable. I highly recommend. read more

We walked here on the day we arrived to PV. Unfortunately we had already ate so we only got a few drinks, guacamole (not pictured), and some ceviche. The drinks were really good, we got a few margaritas and some micheladas. So good. It's really nice because they also have happy hour. The setting couldn't be better. Oceanside for sure you might get wet at high tide. The service was attentive but not rushed. I was pleased with my meals. Amy thought her seafood relleno had too much cheese. There is a big menu so there are lots of choices. We ate dinner there once and breakfast on our last day in the Concha Chinas. The coolest thing about this place is the location. Also, the worst thing about this place (with prices being the close runner up) is the location. We had a little adventure getting here because the location was incorrect here on the App. TO BE CLEAR, this place is located in Concha's China, just south of the beach and below the LomaLinda Resort. You should park at the resort. We ended up walking about 2/3 of a mile on the beach. Beautiful walk but not required. Food was pretty good and drinks were fine. Had PV ceviche and Chicken Enchiladas with green sauce. We drank a variety of beverages (mojito, Ron punch, Corin light, red beer, iced tea, and Jamaica aqua Fresca). Beautiful view, great happy hour drinks, and the seafood chile relleno was fantastic. I've been craving Chiles rellenos since I got down here and have never had them with seafood. Delicious, just really good. Dining companions had a ginormous Greek salad and another had the seafood pasta which was also great. The view is right on the edge of the water with a good view of sunset and the prices for the area aren't bad. read more

I've stayed at a nearby Airbnb several times, this place being the most conveniently located restaurant, therefore a frequent choice. We've loved it every time, including take out. The service is always good, the food plentiful and fresh. I love the fresh Pico de Gallo, fajitas, enchiladas, shrimp, salmon, tuna, civiche. Beer is always cold, the cocktails delicious. They always insist I sit down and relax while waiting on my takeout -- so I enjoy a Modelo Negra or Especial. It's served in the can, but that's fine by me. The views and sunsets are divine. We like to arrive early and stretch our meal long past sunset to take it all in. It's like table service on the beach. For what we get and experience, the prices are reasonable and we feel rewarded. Last time I was here, everything was perfect, today is pretty disappointing. I may not ever come back here again. Me and my group were pointed to a table where we sat down, a few minutes later a waiter came by and asked if we wanted something to drink, we asked for a drink menu and were given one. There's 7 adults and a teenager in our group. Our drinks came and we had to ask for a dinner menu and were given one.... ONE for 7 people... after a little bit the waiter found some more. It took almost an hour to get our food. They must have made them one by one cause it didn't take nearly this long last time (with a group of 5) My food was good, but honestly not worth the $ I spent compared to what I can get at other spots. read more

La Playita looks like my kind of place - rustic wood beams, set right on the rocks, open air and practically on the water. You imagine that fish is the thing thing to order there, but there is surprisingly little seafood on the menu. Last year I did not take the hint and pressed the issue - I ordered pasta with salmon. That was a mistake not to be repeated. So this year, I decided to stick with basics and order chicken enchiladas. My travel companion was of the same mind, so we got one with red sauce and one with green. Both were outstanding. Chipotle sauce is served on the side, and it is mighty spicy and very good - but not at all essential to the dish and can be skipped if you prefer. We also enjoyed the salad with green apples, dressed in a basil mint vinaigrette. It is served in a huge bowl and is more than enough for two. And finally, the house white wine by the glass washed it all down. I had two of those. Inspired by the family next to us who were back the second time for chocolate cake, we got one too and were not disappointed. This is not fine dining, but if you order simple dishes you can still have a first class meal. read more

Food quality and selection is very good. We have had breakfast and lunch here several times and have been very pleased with the courtesy and service. It looks like they had some bad reviews regarding courtesy in the past. However, we experienced just the opposite. Perhaps they had some customer service training or perhaps the ratings were inaccurate. We recommend this restaurant highly. An additional benefit is its ocean front setting! read more

You can get a much closer water view than here! Great for sunsets and have happy hour drink specials. The person who greeted us wasn't the most friendly as he tried to get us to sit at the bar instead of the numerous open tables because he thought we only wanted drinks. We weren't sure how long we would stay but one drink turned into five with an appetizer and then dinner. The house wines are actually good and they have a nice selection of drinks. The staff isn't the friendliest and the food is good not great. The veggie burrito was very dry and uninteresting although the salmon with squid ink pasta was a better option. So perhaps it just depends on what you select. read more

I do gotta give it to this place on the view it's fire I can't and won't talk about the hotel because I did not stay there, the day I got there they where doing some sort of menu shift change shit that led to nothing being available like fruit, rice and beans but eventually they brought rice out that sucked ass, 12 waiters and getting a beer In Mexico should not be hard at all trust! Aguachiles was ok and ceviche was a mid 3 I ordered a fish algo grilled Sarandiado for my mother in law and it was dry... now waiting for my bill 3 beers, aguachiles, enchiladas, and grille fish... OMG I adored this restaurant! When hubby and I were in Puerto Vallarta on vacation we ate here at least once a day, sometimes twice. To start, the restaurant is outdoors and the view is awesome. La Playita is (as it sounds) right on the beach so you can watch the waves and the sunset. The service was outstanding, everyone was so friendly, the food was amazing and the prices were fantastic. Have to say that my wife and I have visited this restaurant many times. The food overall we have been happy with. It won't win awards but in reality you're at a beach side restaurant with a beautiful view. The wait staff are friendly but really seem a little stressed. Typically I would rate the place about 3 or 4 stars. Why the one star, well one visit will never have us visit this place again. The restaurant is associated with Lindo Mar. Guests at Lindo Mar are generally very well treated by the management that we've seen over many of our previous visits. Other walk in guests not so much. We were staying at the Marboka hotel. Until this one particular visit though I've not had too much to complain about. Asked Oscar (floor captain in the afternoon- evening) whether my wife and I could reserve a particular table at 6:30 on a Saturday evening. He seemed to accept that without issue writing the details into a ledger. Arrived at the restaurant at 6:35, a little late but not terribly so and met Oscar at the entrance . I was little dumb-founded however on arrival as Oscar seemed to be making a little bit of a show of our arrival. Also there seemed to be a table of four people staring, pointing fingers laughing at my wife and I. Not sure what that was about but if I have to speculate they were probably asked to move from the table that I requested. Ok so Oscar after his little performance walks on ahead over to the table. Strange thing is he asks a couple that was recently seated at a table adjacent to move over to the table we requested. He then sits us at the table recently vacated and apologizes that our requested table wasn't available. Huh? So my wife and I sit down still a little gobsmacked, trying to process what the hell just happened. Waiter comes over with menus and asks if we would like anything to drink. We said no and that were not sure if we were going to stay or not. The waiter quickly went over to Oscar to let him know that we were not happy. Oscar comes over asking if something is wrong with the table. His attitude was still very confrontational. We told him the table was fine. He quickly left before I could go into more detail. My wife and I felt very uncomfortable at this point and elected to leave. There was no point in continuing with dinner there as our experience was already ruined. Also there are too many more exceptional restaurants to visit in this beautiful city rather than waste our time and energy in this place. To the management of Lindo Mar. This was a situation that could have been easily managed with honesty and compassion. Rather than making your guests look like fools, just be up front. If reservations are not generally accepted then tell me. If our table isn't available when we arrive apologize and offer another option. From what I could ascertain Oscar inconvenienced three groups of people and totally embarrassed ourselves. read more

Second year staying here and the oceanfront dining experience is hard to beat. They're currently under construction so the noise takes away from the ambience, but when construction isn't going on, it's a great, relaxed meal. We've gone for breakfast and dinner. Both haven't disappointed. The tacos were some of the best I've had outside of Arizona. The half avocado with shrimp app, though not what I expected, was very fresh. Breakfast is something to wake up early for. I've come back for the chocobanana and pecan pancakes on more than one occasion. A plate of bacon is worth ordering on its own. And the coffee is kept flowing. For happy hour (12-1p, 5-6p), you can get a bucket of 6-8 ice cold beers brought out to your beachside palapa for about $8. Just don't go expecting a quick eat-and-run, as the service and atmosphere is very relaxed and laid back. A cup of coffee can last 30-45 minutes before you get the check. read more

We've gone there 4/5 nights on our vacation because the food, drinks, and service are just that good! The photos say it all. To be honest the guac is bland- but the pico de Gallo and salsa are great. Guac aside all the dishes, deserts, and drinks are fantastic. We got a black pasta with salmon on top dish that was especially amazing. The fajitas were also incredible and we took the leftover veggies home and scrambled them with eggs for breakfast in the morning. Service is also wonderful. Highly recommend!! read more

This place not worth it. The waiter are desperate for money and forgot to treat people equally. I was asked for the table I was seating at while having lunch. They wouldn't let me walk through the restaurant to get my Uber. The waiter sent me few blocks up the hill to come back full circle to the door of the restaurant. The waiters mistakenly thought I was local ( Mexican ) and were disrespectful. There is a preference for white people. The food was bad and the service even worse. read more

Told the waiter we were there for happy hour. Our meals were so so. one had to be returned. It took 45 minutes to receive a hand written bill, as the computers were down. We were charged full price for our cocktails. Naturally, an strong discussion was had. They would not waiver. No compensation was made while we waited, not a dessert to share or a drink on the house.
