This is a good read for anyone considering a guided fishing trip with Dream on the Fly. So, yes, no experience. I felt like the Karate Kid with his teaching technique. Presentation, mending, drifting, pointing the rod tip at the indicator, watching the indicator, casting and feeling the weight for whipping. It is pretty complicated, but his technique really helped me grasp the process and I felt pretty confident after an hour or so. I learned the hard way once or twice about respecting the power of these river trout. They are good sized and put up enough fight to break a line pretty easily. LET THEM RUN WHEN THEY FIGHT! Don't force them in too fast. Take your time, but keep your rod up and line tension tight. The scenery at The Owyhee River is gorgeous. In all, you will learn a lot with them about the river, fly fishing, and Idaho if you are a traveler. Great experience. We had some great catches and I learned so much. I would recommend this trip to anyone looking for a great fishing trip!

Colleen and Lisa were so helpful and accommodating even though they were about to close up when we got there. They quickly and efficiently set three of us (two dads and an 8 year old daughter) up with tubes and vests and sent us on our way. We had a BLAST! At first our daughter was timid and held on to us, but by the end she was floating along all by herself and didn't want to get out! The river was beautiful and cool, the perfect prescription. The shuttle arrived exactly on time to take us back to our car and Colleen and Lisa were there to meet us. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

I emailed back and forth with Corey, the owner, and he was very accommodating and answered all my questions. The setup of the boat is ideal for hanging out with friends or family because of the circular layout and table in the center, plus having the big umbrella over the boat is really nice. It's like a really mellow party boat. We brought a cooler with drinks and food and made it a little dinner cruise. It was also effortless - they launched it for us and met us on the dock right as we brought it back so we didn't even have to tie it up, we just hopped off the boat and left.  Our kids absolutely loved it and one of them declared it in his top 3 experiences ever. They also liked that they could drive the boat themselves and make it do donuts. Our 10 year old wanted to leave his own review and wrote this: "This is a super fun and amazing activity for anyone to spend part of their day doing. Super comfortable and relaxing, doesn't get boring, and you're likely to get a lot of people complimenting the boat. You can also sit on the stairs and stick your feet in the water if you get hot. I would absolutely recommend this."

Idaho Water Sports is the local Bennington Dealer. I needed some work done on my boat when I received it, such as adding a ski towbar and having it winterized. Usually, a boat or RV Dealership will prioritize the people who purchased directly from them over people who purchased somewhere else. However, that was not the case here. Bekah in the Service department got me in right away and was very pleasant to work with. Billy, the service manager was also very pleasant to work with. Both Becca and Billy were very helpful, friendly and professional. They obviously care about their customers. They got my boat in and out quickly and everything was done to perfection. If you're looking for a new boat or you're looking to have your boat serviced, I would highly recommend Idaho Water Sports.

Boise River Raft and Tube is a great way to get some nice floatation device if you don't have your…read moreown or if you are bringing visitors who don't have a floatation device. At the end of the float, Boise River Raft and Tube has a designated rented raft and equipment pick up spot, for easy dropping off of your equipment. It is nice not having to lug around the gear after soaking in the sun for a few hours. They also have a bus shuttle service which takes you back to the top after floating down to the bottom. Service is always great. The workers are friendly and have good knowledge on how to have a safe and fun floating experience. Pro Tip: For those not wanting to ride the bus back to the top and going in a group. Consider parking a vehicle at the bottom, piling into another vehicle, and then driving to the top. After you float down with your group, hop in the car at the bottom and pick up the vehicle at the top. Though the bus ride back to the top isn't anything to be feared and is a great option.

As it is shred season, I can't help but think back on my first "home mountain". It was the perfect…read moremountain to learn the basics, gain comfort in, and fall in love with snowboarding. The frontside is beginner friendly while having some opportunities to get some speed if you're more advanced. The backside is a good time and per usual where the more advanced terrain lies. There's even some opportunities for backcountry if you're looking for it. It's also amazing to support Bogus as it is a community-owned asset, which means every dollar they earn goes directly back into the mountain. It takes a full commitment from amazing folks from the amazing staff on the mountain to the volunteer board of directors, there is much effort put into preserving this treasure to the Treasure Valley. Parking is super easy. I used to park in a way where when it was time to go home I could just board down to my car on the last lap of the day. Always the perfect end to a fun day on the mountain. Shred on and stay safe!
