Lots of ducks and geese so watch for poop bombs but not that bad. Overall a clean park. We noticed scuba divers, fishermen, magnet fishers, kayakers, and lots of paddle boards. The water is pretty clear and clean and is on the cooler side. There are rentals available if you want to pick up a paddle board or bring your own. On the hot summer weekends, get there before 11am because there is little to no parking after noon.

The water was moving pretty good, if I had to guess somewhere around 1.75 to 2.5 mph, but I was still able to get a workout and my best Mile split time was returning in the current, I took a lot of pictures along the way. I paddle all over the country, and in many other countries, I like to record my Paddle, especially first time, and transfer it from my Garmin watch to the relive app. This app creates a video of the trail and any pictures taken along the way or Geos stamped on the trail while you watch the video. It's really amazing. This park was clean, self service for Park entry if the booth is closed. Nice restrooms. Apple parking and it was mowed later in the week so it really looked nice. They quickly and efficiently set three of us (two dads and an 8 year old daughter) up with tubes and vests and sent us on our way. We had a BLAST! At first our daughter was timid and held on to us, but by the end she was floating along all by herself and didn't want to get out! The river was beautiful and cool, the perfect prescription. This is a good read for anyone considering a guided fishing trip with Dream on the Fly. So, yes, no experience. I felt like the Karate Kid with his teaching technique. Presentation, mending, drifting, pointing the rod tip at the indicator, watching the indicator, casting and feeling the weight for whipping. It is pretty complicated, but his technique really helped me grasp the process and I felt pretty confident after an hour or so. I learned the hard way once or twice about respecting the power of these river trout. They are good sized and put up enough fight to break a line pretty easily. LET THEM RUN WHEN THEY FIGHT! Don't force them in too fast. Take your time, but keep your rod up and line tension tight. The scenery at The Owyhee River is gorgeous. In all, you will learn a lot with them about the river, fly fishing, and Idaho if you are a traveler. Great experience. We had some great catches and I learned so much. I would recommend this trip to anyone looking for a great fishing trip!

I had no idea how many lights they put up, and hadn't seen their new ice skating rink either. The downtown is just brimming with holiday cheer, colorful lights, and ice skating, even music. I guess I didn't fully understand the sheer volume of Christmas lights they put up, but it's enough that you have to walk all the way around and across the river to see it all! It's incredible, and they have some really cool "features" that I wasn't expecting to see. Such fun! It was raining when we went, but the combination of the people, places, lights, excitement, and the magic of all almost made the rain delightful. :) The whole experience brought me so much joy. I've been so stressed lately with all the holiday "stuff" that needs to be done that I forgot what the season was about. My visit to Indian Creek Plaza really brought things into focus for me...not just because of the lights, but because the lights serve as a reminder of the joy, the people, love, and time together is what really makes the holidays so special. Go visit. Take a friend, or your family, or both. Make an evening of it. Grab some coffee or a slice of pizza together, and explore the lights, the creek, and just enjoy each other's company.
