I found East Bay Cabinets on Yelp, read favourable reviews and saw the photos posted here and on the website. A bonus was that the shop is less than two miles from our home. Hubby and I made an appointment with Vinny at his shop. After our initial meeting, we knew right then we wanted him to be part of our remodel. We put down a nominal deposit to get on his calendar. He had one or two projects ahead of us and it was a few months wait, but worth it. In the meantime, I did several drafts sketching and designing out my kitchen (yay for graph paper and coloured pencils!). So come Spring 2021, Vinny contacted us and we were pretty much ready. There were a few design issues he pointed out that we modified to be more practical. When it came to choosing the material, we opted for raw cherry. I had it in my head to do an oil finish for the cabinet and drawer fronts that would give it a particular look. Vinny is a true craftsman with an eye for detail. His workmanship is impeccable, exact and beautiful. He was very accommodating with the quirks of our appliance choices. We bought an integrated dishwasher and he was concerned the "knock" feature would not work through the wood (it worked perfectly). We also had a pipe chase behind the pantry cabinet so we could run a vent pipe from the furnace to the upstairs level, as well as a toe kick vacuum to sweep the floor (we installed a whole house system). He also had the challenge of installing into a house where ALL the walls are out of plumb, not a single right angle ANYWHERE. Marbles roll around on the floor but stay put on the countertops because the cabinets are dead nuts level. Vinny gives his full attention when he is on your project. I felt guilty bugging him with questions and learned to just text him or send all my questions in an email. It worked out better for us, better for him. He had great ideas that we incorporated while I countered with some crazy ones that we quickly put aside. It has pretty much a year since the install and I absolutely love my kitchen and how it is all (still!) coming together. I would highly recommend Vinny in a heartbeat. We have another project in mind and looking forward to working with him in the future.

We were looking into factory kitchen cabinets but discovered that using standard sizes for our 70…read moreyear old kitchen would require us to have our back door moved a few inches. The cost of moving the door was about as much as the price difference between factory and custom; and going custom really opened up a whole new level of options for materials, finishes and maximizing our space. We then considered one of those smaller custom cabinet factories in Oregon, but we wanted a local cabinetmaker who could see our project, make his own measurements, adjust the plans as things changed (and they did!), offer suggestions, and keep us from making any costly mistakes. It's also good to have a local cabinetmaker who can look at your finished walls before installation, with a fresh set of eyes, and validate that the walls are square and plumb, and all of the electrical, plumbing and ductwork are exactly where they should be. Vinny was one of only two cabinetmakers we'd visited, and I was sold; his shop was very clean and organized, his joinery was the tightest and cleanest that I've ever seen, his attention to detail is obvious with the spacing of every screw and nail, each project was neatly organized and sequestered from every other project, and his work combines decades of experience with the most modern and reliable hardware- like a servo operated trash and recycling drawer. Vinny was thorough and responsive with emails and estimates, his work was completed ahead of time and waiting for our other contractors to catch up. Vinny has probably built hundreds of kitchens over the years and has great instincts on what sort of kitchen would compliment the rest of your architecture and what's trendy vs what will give lasting value; he made great suggestions along the way which my wife sees with the clarity of hindsight as spot on. We also chose to have Vinny install our kitchen; the cabinets arrived wrapped in blankets and numbered, he is the most organized tradesman that I've ever worked with in 30 years- he arrived with everything he needed from the large tools right down to totes with all of the tiny hardware and even the smallest compressor I've ever seen for driving his tiny little finishing nails. Vinny prefers to do all of his most detailed work all by himself, methodically and with an unbroken train of thought, and I think this allows him to achieve a remarkable consistency that would be impossible if he delegated to a shop full of helpers. We've had the new kitchen for about 6 months now, and I'm still impressed with Vinny's work. The cherry cabinets have a clear finish that has a consistent luster, the grain is well matched from drawer to drawer, there's an iridescence/ chatoyance that shines through the grain as the sun makes its way across the kitchen; and beyond the aesthetics, I was impressed with the assembly of the cabinet boxes which were strong, rigid, and lined up perfectly. I've measured all cabinet doors and drawer fronts and all I could find is one door that may be a fraction of a millimeter wider than the other one. I'm also impressed that we have the drawers and pantry very heavily loaded but everything closes smoothly and gently. It's also worth mentioning, by contrast, that we did get a bathroom vanity from a small factory in Oregon- we couldn't go wrong in ordering a 48" vanity. We did save $500, but we had to assemble it ourselves, it required driving self tapping hardware into veneered flakeboard, all of the drawers and doors needed adjustment and tweaking, the drawer closing hardware seems a bit clunky, the wood grain isn't as well matched, and the finish just doesn't have the same luster, so we are of course all the happier that we went with Vinny for the kitchen!

When it came time to do my kitchen, I was happy to see that they were the most reasonable of the three estimates that I got. Horatio and Charlie installed my (quartz) kitchen countertops today and I was very impressed with the quality of their work. Their attention to detail was awesome. They are masters of their trade. I only had one seam and Horatio did a great job on it; you almost can't tell it's there. Slight room for improvement on communicating template and installation times; it would have been nice to have more than 24 hours notice on the installation time, but I don't want that comment to tarnish the review because overall I am very happy.

We had about 2k worth of leftover marble from the project and were told we could pick it up. Multiple trips there and they weren't able to locate it or that the person who knew where it was was mysteriously not there. I had a marble table that broke and planned to have them make a new surface for it so I was told to bring it down and they could do it once they find the material. At this point my emails get ignored, my phone calls started getting screened (I know this because my wife called from a different number immediately after me and they picked up), and I still have no materials nor the table legs. Horrible customer experience from the administrative side of things.

Only to find out they never delivered it!! I even told the owner you think you would have had a paper on the stone of the delivery date where it's going and she said it's in there systems. Well ma'am your system isn't working for you. How did you not see a SOLD stone SITTING THERE that was suppose to be delivered months ago? Is this someone you want to do business with? Called LRG and paid in full for the one slab 5/6/26. Even tho we were told we only needed to pay a percentage we paid in full bc we were ready for delivery. Spoke to fabricator and LRG stone and scheduled a delivery date on 5/7/27. (The day we decided who our fabricator was invoice from fabricator was sent and we called and confirmed the delivery date on 5/14/26 a day prior to when it was suppose to be delivered 5/15/26 and it was confirmed.) Assumed your company did their job and it was delivered and ready to go. Did not think we needed to check again and call months later like you had the audacity to say to me to see if your company did their job as we already confirmed a day prior to the set delivery date. Our fabricator went on vacation and was booked up thinking he had the slab in his possession bc he informed us he confirmed with you guys as well. Had appts with him on the slab that was suppose to have been delivered that then got rescheduled again still thinking he had it in his possession bc why would we have an appt if slab wasn't in his possession. To have a meeting with him today 7/31/26 on how we want it cut to find out by surprise from him and us it wasn't even delivered 5/15/26. The fabricator was surprised as us bc they informed us they confirmed in May the delivery as well. That is pretty accurate you and your team ignored a SOLD/PAID for slab that was sitting there that should have been delivered in May when we paid invoices and confirmed delivery dates. We're highly disappointed Jogreet.

I found Michael's cabinet co here on Yelp. I was very nervous to trust such an important job to…read moresomeone I found on Yelp but I had asked around and could not find anybody to do what I wanted to fix my cabinets. They all wanted to just paint them. I wanted them restored to the original finish if at all possible. We paid a lot for these custom cabinets 20yrs ago and really wanted them to be restored to look the same. Michael came out to look at them and told me he has never tried to do work like this before but he was willing to try and felt pretty confident he could do it. If we didn't like it we could always paint them after. It was a risk I decided I wanted to take. We could not wait any longer. 2 of our most used cabinets were severely damaged with water damage - one from a hand towel that had been hanging on it for 20 yrs that would often get damp from hand washing and the other our silverware drawer. They removed all of the damaged cabinet & drawer doors (leaving behind about half of them that had no damage as they were less often used and still looked brand new) and took them to their shop in Livermore. This made the job much harder as they then had to match the color to our existing ones. In addition our kitchen has 2 different paint colors so they had to create 2 different finishes - one a stain and one a paint. Linda, an employee of Michael was in charge of the painting and stain work and the artist who did the work on my cabinets in their factory. She showed us photos along the way and then came back out to reinstall the doors plus also repair the water damage we had on baseboards and cabinet sides that weren't able to be removed. She taped everything off in our kitchen to prep and then spent 2 days refinishing all of the rest of the damage. She was very careful and caused zero problems anywhere around her work. The finished product was absolutely 5 stars - could not have gone any better. I have delayed for way too long giving Michael and Linda credit for the work she did but the benefit to that is that I can now say after over a year (finished Sept 2024) of having the refinished cabinets in my kitchen they have held up perfectly and still all look absolutely brand new (helps not having kids living at home anymore!) I would 100% recommend you to trust Michael and his team to be honest, hard working and skilled crafts people for your cabinets. We recently completed a whole kitchen remodel using Bay Area Cabinet Supply for our cabinets. I…read moreoriginally planned to reface our old cabinets or do IKEA cabinets with updated fronts from companies like Semihandmade, but ultimately found Bay Area Cabinet Supply to make more sense in terms of pricing, quality and time investment during the planning and design process. I walked through Bay Area Cab's Dublin showroom a few times to confirm they have cabinet styles and colors I liked, and the employees were very accommodating in letting me check out cabinet door samples to see in my actual kitchen. I'm so glad I did that, because the color we originally wanted ended up looking dingy in our northern facing kitchen. We went with their Icy Avalanche color, which is a cool toned grey, and have never loved anything more! The design and estimate process was simple and likely less time consuming than even wading through the IKEA kitchen designer yourself. Chrissy was patient, professional and very knowledgeable and made sure every detail was handled to perfection. She even hopped on the phone with our contractor a couple times to make sure every measurement was exactly correct. But her excellent customer service really came into play after our cabinets were delivered and we discovered an issue--due to a slant in our kitchen floors that weren't accounted for in our original measurements, our crown molding wouldn't fit! She and her sister, who heads their other branch, redesigned and supplied a new molding quickly so that our remodel wouldn't be too behind schedule. And if that wasn't enough, when my contractor mis-installed a drawer, Chrissy replaced the broken pieces for me immediately. For just the customer service level alone, I'm so glad I went with Bay Area Cabs. There are already so many small things that can go wrong in a kitchen remodel, and I was so glad to have the cabinets be headache-free! Finally, the quality of the cabinets is amazing. We've been in our new kitchen for about 6 months now and are happy to report that all our cabinets, drawers, shelves and doors are working perfectly.
