I especially appreciate the patience of the front end staff (Winnie Wu) for being so kind and patiently sharing details and options for us. She has good knowledge and is helpful. I particularly had bad experience with lady at the door named May. She was rude and screamed at me and my 8 year old daughter. Her behavior was unprofessional and does not consider how she treats customers. People leave their work and important things to spend hours at the store. I keep going back cause of Winnie. Went there looking for really old bullnose tile to fix the broken ones in front of kitchen sink, not wanting to rip it all out since I desperately want to sell and move (escape?) to the mountains! They didn't have what I needed for this job. But, what a selection. I will be back to get some of those bathroom slabs since I need to redo both bathrooms. So the selection is really good. Since we were looking for DIY materials, we really didn't interact with the staff but they were all masked as were we to stay safe. We are in the beginning phase of our kitchen remodel and wanted to shop around for cabinets, stone countertops, and backsplash. Uni-Tile was the 4th place we visited last Saturday (7/29) and we saw that they have a sale going for cabinets so we decided to get a quote. Winnie was the person to help us and she was a bit rude during our consultation. Every time we tried to tell her what we wanted, she would tell us she didn't like it or didn't think it looks good. My husband was getting frustrated but we figured for the price, it may be worth it. After almost 2 hours, we agreed on the design and received our quote. We told her we will return the following week with our contractor to place the order because we wanted to confirm the dimensions and design with him before placing the order. I called Winnie early Thursday (8/3) afternoon to let her know we would be coming around 5pm because that is the earliest our contractor can meet us there. She said they close at 5:30pm and if we can come a bit earlier. I told her my husband and I will try to come a little earlier and just wait for our contractor. She said ok. We arrived around 4:40pm only to see her desk was empty. We asked one of the other sales rep if Winnie was in. He said she had already left for the day. We asked if he can help us and he said no, that Winnie would have to complete the order. I thought fine. We will try to come back again. I called Winnie the next morning (Friday, 8/4), and asked if she was working Saturday morning and she said yes. I told her ok, we will come Saturday morning with our contractor to complete the order. I also told her that we came to see her yesterday but she had already left for the day. She didn't apologize or acknowledge she had left early even though she asked us to come earlier. I reiterated to her again on the phone that we will see her Saturday morning with our contractor and she said ok. Saturday (8/5) morning, we arrived around 11am with our contractor and see her desk empty again. We again asked another sales rep if Winnie was in that day. Imagine my shock and frustration when he told me that she was OFF that day. My contractor could not believe it either. We asked the guy if he can help us since she had flaked on us twice now and we just wanted to order our cabinets. We provided him the quote she gave us and imagine our surprise when he told us one of the items she provided on the quote was on backorder for a couple of months. At this point, I'm pissed off. I'm sure the sales rep could tell we were extremely unhappy and tried to offer another brand to substitute for the backordered item as a solution but it would not match with the rest of the style cabinets we were originally quoted for. I told my husband that was unacceptable and I was irritated Winnie did not inform us at the time of our initial consultation that one of the items was on backorder even though we told her we were starting the demo and installation process in a couple of weeks. The whole experience left me frustrated and pissed off so I told my husband we'll look elsewhere. This place has lots of options but customer service is absolutely horrible. If we were having all these issues trying to place the order, I couldn't imagine how much worse it would be if we ran into any issues after receiving the cabinets. Plus they charge a 25% restocking fee for any reason. I do not recommend them at all. We ended up placing our order with KZ Kitchen Cabinet & Stone and even though we ended up paying a bit more. Their customer service was 1000000% times better than what we received at Uni-Tile & Marble. read more

The show room has really great options for the Carrara trend as well as timeless pieces like green and brown marbles. The natural stone and porcelain was all very well showcased and it was easy to see what they had. They also carry cabinets/flooring/sinks/counters/shower panels etc. I found the staff here quite helpful. If you can go on a weekday morning you will likely have a better chance of discussing options than a weekend. Helen, Kwan and Jennifer were ready to answer whatever questions I had. Don't like the place. There used to be some sort of line organizing where you were given a number. I have been here for an 45 min waiting to get loaded with a couple of pieces. I had a couple of trailers pull in and apparently they only have one forklift with a boom so I had to wait for one of the trailers to finish loading Still waiting after more than 50 min. Place is good and the workers are decent. The lady that helped me was super nice. The only downside is delivery. They told me 10am. Then I get a call at 9am saying they are in front of my house. I don't live there yet. So I planned to be there at 10am. Guy waited which was good but only 1 guy and it was only me and my 70 year old father in law. Luckily my neighbor was nice enough to help. But $330.00 for half ass delivery is good customer service. I would just rent a uhaul and have your buddies come help... don't pay $330 for delivery. read more

I had one that was WHITE, another that was BEIGE/OFF WHITE COLOR AND MY KITCHEN WAS AN L SHAPE COUNTER. PAY EXTRAAA GO ELSEWHERE TO SAVE A HEADACHE HONESTLY. There comes a place and time when business doesn't matter it's common MORALS. Don't play people and accept when you are wrong. I came here knowing what I wanted as far as name of quartz and color but they had another Agenda. Apparently my Contractor should know when you get two different sizes from Uni-Tile it's two different tones ( I asked 3 contractors, this only applies to UNI-TILE not in general) I did get a solution and they did swap it out for a credit of a 8 ft slab although it was a 10 ft which Was already cut and although I needed a bigger slab I couldn't go with it due to the difference of color in the tone so swapping would be a waste of energy for another 10 ft. Pretty much the cheapest place to get counter tops. Huge selection in warehouse. Their cabinet handles are cheap as well but they do run out so be precise with your count. Hayward location is bigger than the SF location so this means selection is alot more just in terms of stone and counter tops but cabinets and bathroom materials as well. I spent almost $2,000 worth of material @ Uni-Tile & Marble of Hayward to renovate my bathroom. I purchased a glass door that came out faulty, it had a crack. I went back to see the manager to see if I could get a replacement of the glass door. I was initially told I could get a new one by the front desk people and then the manager said he wasn't able to replace it because he didn't sign the invoice, when one of his other employees had signed it. Are you kidding me!!! The return policy for the product was 30 days. I took it back before it was past due. Horrible experience and customer service after I spent $2,000 all together on material. I had ALL the receipts from previous purchases, and was still denied the return. It goes to show this establishment doesn't value their return policy. I will DEFINITELY not recommend this place to any yelpers out there, STAY AWAY! read more

But if you are willing to deal with their inefficiency and lousy attitude you can get a great deal on some nice countertops.
