POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE & MEDIOCRE COOKIE CAKE VISIT #1 We told the older gentleman (maybe the owner?) we were interested in a cookie cake for my son's birthday. My husband asked "What size is the one in glass case? The man answered "That's not a birthday cake, it's a Super Bowl cake." That was not my husband's question. "We asked about the sizes and prices of the rectangular chocolate chip cookie cakes. The older gentleman behind the counter says "Come on get let your husband get the biggest one...it's only about $40." I replied "That's not what I asked. What are the sizes and prices of the rectangular cookie cakes?" Sarcastically, he repeats "Your husband wants the largest one...won't you let him get it?" Again, his answer did not answer the question asked. We had to pull info out of this guy and he was pretty sarcastic, not funny sarcastic, just kind of rude. We ordered since it was what our son had requested. Let's hope it comes out right. VISIT#2 We picked up the cookie cake. Same gentleman working as last time. He asks our name and he bring us someone else's cake. After he finds the right one, he says it will be almost $47. We ask to see it and only 3 of the 6 words in the message are written on the cake! (He had told us that if we ordered the largest cake, that all 6 words and the design would fit.) We asked if he could fix it and he replies "it's the designer's option to change it & she couldn't fit it." We asked why she made the design so large & he replies that she did the design first and then she ran out of room. We explain that without the full 6 word caption, the design does NOT make sense! I remind him that last year, your shop fitted 7 words and a design on a smaller cake. I ask if he can do anything & he says "no." We paid, told him we were not satisfied, and he would hear from us. They have a nice little shop right in the strip shopping area on Poplar. First off. I gives 5's for customer service. No matter the food, the cost, or the location. A good customer service experience speaks volumes. This Friday night there was about the best young workers behind the counter. And you know how young folk can be, very "attitudal" but this pair was on point. Happy, awake, patient and attentive. We tasted the flavors and I went with a two scoop combo. This trip was very sad . Went in to get ice cream because the web site says they have 59 Gluten free options. But upon arrival I was told that all of their ice cream had gluten in it. Thankfully my daughter was still able to get hers but it wasn't the outing I had hoped or expected. Please update the web site. read more

Pretty disappointing. We ordered an ice cream cake for my daughter's birthday. It's 48 hours required advance notice. I called the day after we ordered to make sure they got the order and were working on. Good thing I called because no they didn't. When I go pick up the cake it doesn't have Andes chocolate mints on the top as shown in the photo and as stated in the cake description. The whole reason we got this mint meltdown cake was for the Andes mints which my daughter loves since we can't buy these in the country where I am stationed. When I point out that it's missing the full Andes candies on top, the girl working the counter replies "well we don't have Andes at this location". Um, can't they just run down to any grocery store to pick up some to complete the cake as it's advertised? Why is that now my burden? They didn't make any effort whatsoever. And their response was like too bad. We don't have those ingredients so we don't make it like that even though we advertise it as such. Paid in advance when I ordered online so they had my money and wouldn't do anything to fix the situation. So buyer beware. You very well may not get what you ordered and it won't be seen as their problem. read more

First timer!!! I must say I was impressed. There was several delicious flavors to try and you can try any one that you would like. Also the customer service was impeccable. Angelica was a delight. She was extremely polite and friendly! She didn't mind helping me and encouraged me to take my time. Ethan was also kind and didn't mind discussing the flavors. Went to marble slab today waited like 20 minutes when one person was only infront of me when it comes to my turn i say my order and i said i didn't want marshmallow sauce in it the girl puts marshmallow sauce in it and after i said i didn't want she gives a attitude and changes the cup and makes the order she gives me the shake and it has no whipped cream or m&ms and i have to ask every single time for this and the entire time she gave attitude and this isn't the first time if u don't like ur job DONT work there. was a girl with long brown hair in a pony tail she needs to quit if she can't handle customer service. I was extremely disappointed when Cold Stone Creamery left Memphis a few years ago. Anytime I travel outside Memphis, I visit Cold Stone Creamery only because of one flavor "Cake Batter". I've known about Marble Slab; however, it never crossed my mind to look at their flavors. I noticed they had a flavor called "birthday cake" in some images yelpers have posted. I decided to visit this evening and taste to determine whether it was the same thing as Cake Batter at Cold Stone and wala it's the same thing just with a different name...can't believe for so many years I've been dodging this place thinking they would not carry this flavor. I totally got my hopes up for this shop. I'm a huuuge fan of the Great American Cookie Company so of course I was ecstatic when I saw this was linked with Marble Slab! Unfortunately, I left here only slightly happy. The cookies were dry as dirt. I've never been so sad eating a cookie in my entire life. The ice cream was okay... nothing too out of the ordinary. The flavors didn't even vary much from one another. After my friend and I chose our flavors, they dumped the ice cream on a freezer pad type thing (like rolled ice cream shops) and I got pretty excited when they asked what else we wanted with it!!! Much to my dismay, they merely got a scoop to smush everything together and jumbled it all back into the ice cream cone/cup. Don't expect much coming here. Things are pretty mediocre. read more

Really good! I was immediately worried that this place won't make it because of a lack of visibility and lack of awareness, but I might be wrong. I went there about 7pm on a Monday night, and more than just a few people filtered in while I enjoyed my ice cream. I had the cinnamon ice cream with three mix-ins. They allow UNLIMITED mix-ins, yo! It was good. My wife had the dark chocolate with snickers mixed in. Hers was a little bland for dark chocolate, but I liked it a little more than she did. It's ice cream and its cookies. Headed home to Madison, MS extremely upset. I was in town visiting family and I had my hopes up to stop by and grab ice cream before getting on the highway headed home. I thought the shop closed at 9:30... because that's what it says on their website... so I made it at exactly 8:57 pm. Turns out they close at 9:00 pm and the workers already had the door locked and were mopping and closing up. They would not let us in even though they had locked the doors BEFORE 9 pm. I am extremely pissed because I am not coming to visit my mother in law again until Thanksgiving. Thanks to this establishments' lazy workers I will have to wait until then to get my favorite ice cream. The closest marble slab to my house is past my house 1 hour and 30 mins. read more

OMG!! The cream is wonderful. Carmel sundae was everything I needed. They didn't skimp on any of the ingredients. But the most amazing part of the adventure... I accidentally left my credit card at the the shop and they kept it safe until I called. The card had not been breached. The employees at the store were wonderful! I live no less than an hour away from any Marble Slab Creamery so I was excited when I came upon this location while out and about. The staff was very friendly and the ice cream was good. However, the staff needs a little training in the Marble Slab method. Since I live so far away, I order a quart of ice cream along with my toppings. They server put the ice cream in the quart size container and sprinkled some toppings on top and then put the lid on it. I probably should have said something but she was trying and it seemed that she may be new. As a result I had very few toppings and they weren't mixed in. When I got home I scooped all the ice cream out and added more of my own toppings and mixed it myself. The ice cream was very good. I only write the review to encourage the management to train all the employees on how to mix the ice cream with the toppings. That's a very big part of the Marble Slab experience. Quite honestly, the slab in the store was clean and dry and it didn't look as though any employee was using it. read more
