The flavors are pretty plain because you get unlimited mix-ins, but there is a nice variety of flavors. Marble Slab, you foul temptress. Let's just say it's really hard to eat downtown and not stop by Marble Slab for some ice cream. The place is always cold and pleasant during our southern summers and they serve lots of great ice cream. It's the perfect storm for will power destruction. The staff here are fantastic, friendly and very fast at taking care of their line of customers. They are patient with those slow to order and very consistent in putting your order together. As always, I ordered an amoretto milk shake and it was all I hoped it would be. I took a picture of the half-empty cup, I know, I know... If you eat lunch or dinner downtown and you need a cool place to refresh yourself and indulge, you could do much worse than Marble Slab. The service and staff is absolutely horrible. I was taking my time deciding what I wanted and the staff was glaring at each other and acted as if I was an inconvenience. We did not get greeted upon entering and did not get a goodbye when leaving. They stared blankly at us. When I asked what a specific topping was she said "They are labeled" and I told her that not all of them are in the right spot so I wanted to check, she rudely replied, "yeah well they are still labeled." Yes it can be little expensive for family of 4 that's for sure... but I think this place is ideal for once in a blue moon ice cream splurge for lactose intolerant folks who never stock ice cream in the freezer. but that's just me. they have frequent cards buy 5, get one free. My order was wrong and of course I didn't realize this until after I walked out with two orders, my hands were full so I couldn't taste what I had purchased until I walked 1/2 block to sit down with my BFF, at that point and I didn't want to stand back in the line. I ordered what I thought was cheesecake and blueberry bits in a cheesecake base. It tasted like vanilla ice cream....so know cheesecake flavor at all. I think there are so many options downtown to try other ice cream shops instead of standing in this line again. Disgusting place and rude assistant manager. I ordered a chocolate ice cream with almonds. Two licks in and I pulled an 8 inch hair out of my mouth. Asst Mgr replaced the ice cream. Two licks in and another 8 inch hair. I requested my money back and will never go there again. Not once did he apologize. I had to ask for an apology.. The ice cream is made in house.
