The doctor was fine for the first few visits. He was very caring and remembered a lot. However, I had a procedure with him and he fixed nothing. My deviated septum was untouched and the rhinoplasty looked nothing as we discussed. I had to go to an entire different doctor who then performed another procedure to fix his mistakes. When I attempted to email or call him about my concerns, I got no response and was directed to his office staff. His bedside manners are good but I doubt his skills at treating people. read more

Dr. Kerner is now practicing medication on his reputation. For example, I had a problem with my jaw and requested an appointment. He was able to diagnose my problem without seeing me or asking any questions. Instead he sent his "Assistant" to explain what my problem is and the medical treatment, which was an injection and a request to return in three weeks. I still have the same problem and refused to return. read more

The doctor seemed nice but beware of their office practices. First, they spend less than a few minutes with you and send you a fat bill (as you have read with other reviews). They did very little and they charged my insurance almost $1650 and I have an additional co-pay to do. They charged me for a CT scan and wouldn't even email me the copies (said they don't know how) . Absolute worst experience. They tried to push me into a surgery procedure and given the reviews I read and my own experience, I decided against it. Went to a different doctor in LA, had the procedures, and a way way better experience. Real bummer, because I believed the doctor to be nice. Ultimately, his business will suffer unless he gets a grip on it. Would not trust. read more

From the first call to set up an appointment, every staff member was polite, professional and friendly. Dr. Kerner is a gem and took exceptional care of my daughter for a nasal fracture and deviated septum. He answered all of our questions with patience and concern and we never felt rushed. Surgery went very well and when she had a normal complication, the office got her in immediately. His surgical nurse Mimi goes above and beyond. Valerie (PA) is caring and thorough. My actual time spent with doctor Kerner was about 5 minutes. The only thing he did was use a camera to check my nostril, he charged $350 for it. He then suggested I get a CT Scan for my injury and gave me a referral to another office. This visit ended up costing a total of $600 dollars ($263 after insurance). I called the staff to try and negotiate the bill down and they were extremely rude. I tried explaining to them that for such a short visit without even being fully diagnosed it is not reasonable to charge this much. I do not recommend this doctor. And if you do decide to visit him, make sure to discuss costs every step of the way. read more

After an awful experience with another ENT doctor who misdiagnosed me, I found Dr. Kerner. What a difference! The entire staff in this practice are fantastic; professional, friendly, kind. Dr. Kerner himself is very caring, thorough, a great communicator. He takes all the time needed with you. I have never waited more than about 15 minutes past my appointment. The atmosphere in the office is warm, calm and friendly. Dr. Kerner treated my sinus' issues after a thorough examination and MRI. The surgical procedure went very smoothly and I felt comfortable and cared for by all the staff. I'm feeling so much better and my sinus' issues seem to be cleared up. read more

i have been visiting Dr. Kerner for my Eustachian Tube dysfunction, and even though my insurance doesn't cover these visits, Dr. Kerner has been incredibly accommodating given my financial situation. The staff has also been exceptionally helpful and understanding, especially when I've needed to change appointments at the last minute. I underwent a Turbinate Reduction, and after 8 months of healing, I can breathe better than I ever have before. Although my Eustachian Tube dysfunction isn't completely resolved, I'm hopeful about pursuing balloon dilation next. Dr Kerner and his team took care of my ENT issues and my septoplasty (nose job without the cosmetic part) I have to say he was very honest and not pushy about my procedure , gave me options and alternatives and I ultimately decided to get the surgery after repeated issues with my ears, getting sick all the time etc and I am so glad I did. Following up, my ears have equalized after about a month. When I do Valsalva maneuver, they both open at the same time. My left ear used to struggle and needed more pressure to open. I am writing this review because it is VERY difficult to get an appointment with Dr Vadapalli ENT even with a referral. His page shows he takes Medicare but the lady that answers the phone said he doesn't. She is very hard to understand but also doesn't know what she's talking about. She doesn't know the difference between Medicare with Part G or a plan like Blue Shield PPO. She wouldn't let me make an appointment and have my primary send a new referral or bring the one I have. When I went to see Dr. Kerner, I could barely breath through my nose and sleeping was becoming increasingly difficult. I scheduled my nasal surgery with Dr. Kerner and I'm so glad I did. The first two days following surgery were difficult, after that, my nose slowly began to heal and I was able to breath normal again and laying flat now felt great. I am now breathing and sleeping much better and I am even using less spices on my food, as I didn't realize how much I couldn't taste things either. Visits in this office are a joke . Booked an appointment the first time expecting to see the doctor only to be seen by a PA and I let it slide . Was prescribed some meds that didn't work. Along with sleep and hearing study . Second visit , I called specifically to be seen by the doctor for the follow up only to again be seen by the PA and was told that I need a CT scan which they could have just told me over the phone instead of wasting my time. No disrespect to the PA but when people go to see a specialist , then they should be seen by a specialist not his assistant. If the doctor does not have time to see his patients , then don't schedule patients and waste their time so you can collect the insurance money. I took half a day off , drove 30 miles in the middle of rush hour and am paying for a specialist services , only for the doctor to be no show . I had a wonderful experience when I went to see Dr. Kerner on 2/10/24 for botox and fillers. His office staff were friendly, professional, and very informative. My visit to see Dr. Kerner all started with some dental work. The periodontist identified a possible infection via CT scan of my lower sinuses. So she couldn't work on my teeth until I was cleared by an ENT. My primary care physician referred me to Dr. Kerner. During the exam and with additional CT scans of all my sinuses, I was diagnosed with multiple sinus issues, nasal polyps, and a deviated septum. I also have not been able to smell or taste food for many decades. During the initial consultation visit, Dr. Kerner assured me that my sinus problems, nasal polyps, inability to smell, and deviated septum were all fixable with surgery. I was a little hesitant with the very thought of having surgery but after speaking with Mimi, his nurse, and Cindy, his surgery scheduler, I felt reassured that all would go well and not to worry. My surgery occurred in the morning and I was able to smell again later that day. Dr. Kerner is a miracle worker and his team of professionals have the patient's best interest at heart. Janet, who works the front office area, meticulously took care of my follow-up medication program so that I can maintain healthy sinuses and prevent the development of new polyps. Marco, was also patient and kind with taking my vital signs and getting me ready for Dr. Kerner's exam. I highly recommend and thank Dr. Kerner for all that he's done for me and his wonderful and caring team of professionals. Called the office for an appointment and to make sure my insurance was covered. I got an appointment, under the assumption that I will only be paying the co pay (since I have a decent PPO plan). Went and saw the dr. Very nice dr. (honestly). I told him that I'm not sure if this is an allergy issue or just a breathing problem, since I never had this issue before after I did a rhinoplasty almost 7 years ago. I told him I have been using an over the counter Nasal Congestion relief spray. He checked my noise with a Q-tip and apparently did a nasal Endoscopy (which I don't recall). All he did was ok, replace your nasal spray with a "drug free" one and spray as much as needed. Something I could have done my self. I have already tried all the brands out there, and the only one worked was the one I showed him. As a dr. he never explained to me what was the cause of breathing problem nor ever gave me a solution. Rather and alternative to what I was already using. Came back and received a $250 bill plus the $60 copay I already paid. How is that fair and how do I justify this expense to my self! I am not happy with them. This has never happened to me. I have a pretty decent insurance and I don't mind paying the additional/non covered portion only if I seen a difference! Its not a question of whether he did the Endoscopy or not, but rather nothing changed after I left his office. I had suffered from sinus problems for years, each being worse than the last. I wasn't able to breathe out of both nostrils at the same time. Every morning I would be very congested, sneeze and blow my nose a lot. I would wake up frequently during the night because I get so congested. During spring allergy season or when it was windy out my symptoms would get magnified. I would often get massive sinus headaches that would put down for the day. I got at least 3 sinus infections every year. People would often ask why I sounded so nasally. I tried every OTC sinus medication possible, and combinations of them. I only got partial relief. After this spring 2022, I finally could not deal with it anymore and decided to find the best doctor I could. I did some research and found Dr. Kerner. During my first visit, he examined me, and took the time to listen to my medical history and my sinus symptoms. He concluded that I had tried all the right things and that there must be something that was physically responsible for my problems. He scheduled me for a CT scan of my sinuses, which I had never had done before. When I returned to his office after the scan, he showed me the 3D imaging. He said that my sinuses were very blocked, and that they would definitely cause the symptoms I experienced. I also had a deviated septum and discovered that sometime as a child I had broken my nose. Surgery would be required to fix my issues. I was greatly relieved to know that he could fix my problems once and for all, and that he arrived at a diagnosis so quickly. Surgery was scheduled for 9/21/2022. He and his great staff explained what to expect during recovery. Pain experienced during the first few days was no worse than when I had sinus headaches. For a few days I had to breathe through my mouth as my sinuses were packed with gauze, which was probably the most uncomfortable part. But once the packing was removed, I was immediately amazed at how much better I could already breathe, and it would only get better as my nose healed more. It has been 4 months since my surgery. The difference is truly life changing. I breathe so much better, and I sleep so well. I wish I had found Dr. Kerner years ago. read more

I am so grateful to Dr Kerner who has helped me so much. I got COVID back in July of 2020. I lost my smell & then had a lot of with my Eustachian tubes. My ear were constantly plugged. He took time to work with me on ways to get my smell back. I attribute Dr Kerner with that. I still do t have my smell back 100% but it's because of him that it started coming back. He also did a procedure to help my hearing situation with the Eustachian tubes. The staff was amazing the whole way through. Met with Dr. Kerner for a second opinion as to the necessity of sinus surgery. He also recommended I proceed and said he would have to open and clear out diseased tissue in my maxillary, ethmoid, frontal, and sphenoid sinuses. I agreed. The office informed me I would be responsible for only $750 out of pocket and the rest would be billed to my insurance. They charged me an extra $157.24 which I paid and also another $161.78. The surgery took 30-45 minutes. I woke up in a panic, where I couldn't swallow and my throat was numb. At my first follow-up appointment, I asked what was done during the surgery. Dr. Kerner merely responded, "I did everything we discussed." The post-op debridements were short, like 10 minutes. I found it odd that Dr. Kerner only went as far as my maxillary sinuses. Religiously following Dr. Kerner's instructions to do nasal rinses twice a day, my symptoms did not resolve whatsoever after the surgery. Severe post nasal drainage, severe coughing where I had to puff an inhaler twice a day, severe throat clearing, limited to no sense of taste and smell, and colored mucous. After 3 months, I had enough and went to do a post-operative CT scan to see what was going on. CT scan showed my frontal and upper ethmoid sinuses were still closed and filled with diseased tissue and that I now have a focal rightward deviation of the interior aspect of the cartilaginous nasal septum with resultant focal narrowing of the airway in this location (something that wasn't there before the surgery.) Dr. Kerner touched my septum when he didn't need to, probably just to bill my insurance for more money. And now I can't get it fixed due to a high risk of perforation. So I will suffer with diminished breathing capability forever. He only opened my maxillary sinuses and did not touch my upper ethmoids, frontals, or sphenoid sinuses. He never told me this either. He just led me to believe everything was done. Even after he reviewed the post-operative CT, he STILL didn't mention anything. He didn't take fungal, bacterial, or tissue cultures during the surgery. He wrote in his Operative Report that he did all of this, including removing the frontal sinus agger nasi cells, which were clearly not removed as they showed up in the post-op CT. He wrote he did things he did not do so he could get paid more from my insurance. Recently, I had to have revision sinus surgery with an advanced specialist where it took nearly 3 hours due to the complexity of my anatomy. He took fungal, bacterial, and tissue cultures during surgery. Fungal was negative but bacterial was positive and tissue cultures showed primary cause was by eosinophils. This was very helpful information to help in my course of treatment. I also woke up relaxed from this surgery. My throat was not numb and I was able to swallow. Post-op debridements took 30-45 minutes. This doctor went inside all my sinuses and performed the debridement with advanced image guidance. Dr. Kerner never did this. Now, Dr. Kerner's office is threatening to send my account to collections for the $161.78 despite knowing of my utter disappointment and everything that has happened. After my revision surgery, I do not cough anymore. I do not need to clear my throat. And my post-nasal drainage is minimal to non-existent as I am still healing. Malpractice, insurance fraud, dishonest, lack of proper communication and experience, and his office staff is rude. read more

I went to Costco because I knew that I needed a hearing aid and a hearing test confirmed that, but there was something in my ear that caused me to be referred to see an ENT before I could place an order. I went on Yelp and made an appointment to see Dr. Kerner since he had the best reviews. I was told to be there 15 minutes before the appointment to fill out paperwork. I arrived at the office as instructed and then waited another 30 minutes to be called into the office, and to my surprise it was NOT to see Dr. Kerner, but an assistant who said that Costco hearing tests are no good so they have to do another one and she told me that I had to be re-examined by an audiologist in another building and said that I would have to make an appointment with him and then come back with the results. In other words it would take 3 appointments to get Dr. Kerner to fill out the Costco form. My insurance was charged $175 for an office visit for the 5 minutes that it took the assistant to tell me to go see someone else and then return. I never did see Dr. Kerner. Instead, I found another ENT in Northridge, Dr. Michael Landman, and made an appointment to see him. He looked in my ear and confirmed what Costco had told me, but also insisted on another hearing test so he sent me to an office down the hall where I had the test and then returned to Dr. Landman, who informed me that the audiologist's report was similar to the Costco report and he signed the document that Costco provided. Dr. Landman was very nice and easy going and answered my questions + this visit took less than the 45 minutes waiting time in Dr. Kerner's office! read more

After seeing a ad on FB my wife made a appointment with Dr. Kerner's office. We went to see him today, because we're going to a wedding this weekend ,and my wife thought she could use a little Botox on her forehead. We were greeted by the wonderful staff, filled out a little paperwork and it's off to the doctors office, a few seconds later a young lady comes in to apply some numbing cream and the doctor comes in.and we told him that she is going to a wedding this weekend, he was completely honest and said it's probably better to wait and it can take as long as a week to work and it might leave a bruise. My wife decided to take that chance he didn't use that much since he said she didn't need that much and to hold off on any other filler till after the wedding! This was our first time having this type of procedure. And it was a piece of cake, we kinda knew Dr Kerner was good because he comes highly recommended! read more
