4216 Dundas Street West location: Bait and Switch tactics Today I received a flyer in the mail from Marche Leo's Dundas street West Etobicoke location. The flyer advertised Sponge Towel Ultra paper towels at $4.99 for a pack of 6 rolls. The sale started today. Within 15 minutes of receiving the flyer I was at the store. Of course, there were no Sponge Towels and the shelf could, at most, hold 4 packages. I asked staff for a rain check. I paid for $50 worth of items while I waited for the raincheck. They refused to offer me a raincheck. In fact, they didn't even know what a raincheck was and claimed they have never heard the term. They took advantage of me with a classic bait and switch tactic. I will never return to that store. There's nothing there of interest either. Bruno's is far superior and in the same area. read more

Your young staff at Atrium store are extremely unprofessional and one in particular is very rude to customers. I used to frequent this store daily but after today's horrible service I'll go elsewhere. read more

The produce section is great. There is a variety of items, and they are always fresh. We love their onsite salads and meals. One issue we have run into is pricing. The cashiers are usually friendly and helpful but a couple of times now we have been overcharged. The price is different (always higher) when it is rung through at checkout. Or, like today, the clerk scans the item too many times. Today we were charged twice for one can of soup. The soup is good, but it is not work $9.00 a can. There was a line up at checkout, so we didn't notice until we got home that we were overcharged. Marche Leos can do better. read more

Food is pricey but they participate in the Too Good to go program where food is near their best before or just past it but not going bad yet (smells and looks good, no signs of mold) for $7 a bag. it is a hit and miss sometimes with the surprise bag.. sometimes some of the stuff may be useful to us and tasty, sometimes not, sometimes the bag may contain stuff worth the charge, other times is ok not great. we also tried their delivery service at the height of the pandemic in 2020 april, but they left out an item and charged us for that item. read more

This small shop is a great option for those who live on Redpath/Roehampton but didnt want to go to Loblaws. While they have a smaller selection, everything was nice and fresh, and price is competitive. I usually shop for vegetables here. Other good buys include the cooked food for lunch and the soup of the day. They also stock wide baking sheets, which I love since i bake a lot of bread. There's also a coffee/pastry corner but not something extraordinary. Service has been consistently helpful and warm. They even replaced a pack of flour that went rancid :) read more

Walking through the east Don trails, at the end I came across this supermarket. Never seen it before (it's at the back of the little plaza with Timmies in it, and I've never gone on that side before) so of course I decided to check it out. I like interesting grocery stores - you always find unique items. Yes I know I'm weird. I like to look at grocery store products! It's a Mediterranean store, lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Lots of brands I never heard of before - which is awesome! They have a wine/beer/flower section in the front (a little off to the side, in its own area) and in front there is a coffee/cafe section! There is a hot food station where you pay by weight,, and also a fresh made section (sushi, sandwiches, pizza). A little station at the end is Kareem's - Indian food to go! I was duly impressed with the interesting offerings - cheeses, gelatos, breads, vegan pastas, etc. Of course, most items aren't cheap so I wouldn't do every day shopping here, but for a few unique items it's definitely a great choice! I picked up some organic kale and basil pesto, baguette (they have smaller size ones that perfect for 2 days), and some hot food. I really wanted to mango pineapple sorbet, but since I walked, it would have melted by the time I got home. read more

Marcheleo's is more than just a marketplace, it's a wonderful land filled with flavour. In case you' haven't figured it out yet, I love this place. The highlight is the ready made food, which is a must for a tasty weekday lunch. The options rotate every day and include something for everyone. Beef, fish, lamb, chicken, rice, vegetarian, soups, curry ... the list goes on and on and it's all freshly homemade. No cutting corners, just flavourful, healthy lunches. Another thing worth noting are the fresh pastries. Their fantastic and have a wide variety, but can run out quickly. Finally, the supermarket portion caters to high end, but has everything you need. The butcher is fantastic and has great meat and fish selections, while the store also stocks a wide range rarities such as imported sauces and chips. Drop by for the lunch, stay for the selection. read more

During the Covid 19 epidemic, Ontario's Doug Ford denounces grocery stores Price gouging. Marchelo's does not seem to care. Marcheleo's Gourmet Marketplace, Wynford Drive, is currently selling Bananas for $1.29/lb where as The Superstore on Wynford Drive and Eglington Bananas are selling for $0.57/lb. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was directed to a gentleman who identified himself as the manager of the store. I proceeded to ask as to why the price of bananas as overpriced. I was told I don't know what the regular prices are and the man repeatedly call me an idiot and I was asked to leave the store. When I was outside the store, someone threatened me not to post anything online. read more

Marcheleo's is a small, modern, and super clean grocery store with extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. They carry a nice variety of organic, gluten-free, and kosher products. They also have a nice selection of deli meats, organic fruits and vegetables, organic dairy products, pastas and other specialty food items. You can even choose from a variety of freshly made in-house specialty gourmet food to go; their samosas are amazing and I like their all natural tandoori whole cooked chicken! In the back they have a nice espresso/dessert bar. The espresso beverages here are fantastic- organic, smooth and delish! The desserts are really overpriced. The prices here are higher compared to most grocery stores, but the sales here are really nice. Keep an eye out for their flyer (you can view this on their site). Also, they advertise their sales in the flyer before the sales even begin, which I think is weird. Besides the higher price tag, the only other downfall I can find is that sometimes the products here are close to expiration date, especially the juice and organic milk. Also, this is not a one stop grocery store. Overall, Marcheleo's is a good and pricey grocery store and they throw great sales that keeps me coming back. read more

This place has disappointed me since my 5-star review, hence the updated review. The flyer is confusing. They may have a flyer out but it may not be valid. They only run a flyer bi-weekly so any deals you read about probably aren't valid when you read it in-store.. Odd. Sometimes they'll have great deals on in the flyer and sometimes nothing good. They were completely out of organic cream of all sizes and only had a gigantic generic brand of cream when I went. That was disappointing. I'm one person and will not be consuming a litre of cream within 2 weeks. I also bought Beyond Coconut Water... I've never tried this brand before but it was $2.50 and tasted extremely rancid. Not sure if that's just this brand or if it wasn't stored properly. I've gotten milk that was sour before but they rectified that problem. I didn't bother with the Beyond Coconut water because it was so bad I dumped it, though on second thought I probably should've brought it back, but honestly, I don't want every other visit to that store being about bringing something rancid/sour back to get $2 refunded. Sour/rancid products shouldn't be a problem. It's better to go when there's a flyer actually running otherwise there's some serious price gouging going on here for most of the items, though some are fairly priced. A friend refered me to this little gem of a food emporium which recently opened in the very trendy neighbourhood of Yonge and Eglinton. What a delight. Tucked away just east of Yonge it is a hard to spot to find, but once you find it I doubt you will want to shop anywhere else. The store is clean, bright and has one of the largest selections of organic and healthy choices for today's shopper. All my favourite products were there as well as some items never seen before. Items like gourmet pasta, prepared soups and a lovely selection of fine teas. The only item I didn't see was kefir which staff assured me they would order. Speaking of staff , employees and management are visible and helpful which is a real plus. Prices are comparable or better to Carrot Common or Tutti Frutti in Kensington and the selection is far better. But the real surprise was the prepared food! You can choose from a wide array of foods to take home like sheppards pie ( best I've ever tasted! ), lamb shank, and a wonderful home made pizza that they make in their wood burning ovens. Did I mention they have a capuccino maker so you can enjoy a coffee while you shop? Perfect place to stop for some food on your way home from work. But don't shortchange yourself and only stop in for the dinner - this place is your one stop food place. It's a farmers market, a gourmet food store and bistro all in one! read more

I love this place. It's a small, clean, and unique grocery store - I say "unique" because they carry a wide variety of high-end, organic, and gluten-free products. In the back, you can purchase to-go coffees, dishes (pizza, samosas, etc), and desserts. The staff are incredibly knowledgable and friendly - and their butcher is simply awesome when it comes to advice on buying, dressing, or cooking the various meats available. The only downside is it's "regular" items are a little pricey compared to a normal grocery store (ie. their 4-pack Oikos Greek Yogurt is 4.99 vs 3.99 at Sobey's/Metro), but their sales are usually pretty good. read more

Good place with quality fresh meat and other food items. Sometimes very pricey, but if there is a deal going on, you are better off buying here than at the Metro nearby. For example, they had a deal on chicken breast (boneless) and the rates were FAR superior to even Costco's rates, and the quality was better. Excellent fresh salad dressings. Extremely nice staff, and sometimes they give you good quality shopping bags free as well. May not a your one-stop-shop grocery store, but for some quality items, definitely on my agenda now. read more

The store is quite small and the selection isn't enough for it to be a one stop grocery stop. I usually look at the flyer and buy what's on sale that I would normally buy. The staff is super friendly and more than willing to work with you if you need something. read more

I have been shopping at the Marcheleo's, Eglinton Ave. E. store since it first opened. I love the uniqueness of the place & the daily changes of the hot foods and the wonderful tasting daily hot soups, fresh salads & sandwiches. Daily changes at their hot food counter for meat-eaters & vegans. The place is always spotless and service is very good, with apologies from staff if they think that you have been waiting awhile. Kudos to Daniel (manager) and his friendly staff for making this a great supermarket to shop at. I only wish that the Marcheleo's market had a larger menu like their 2nd store in Don Mills. I would have less money ;) as I would be at their multi-cultural hot foods counter every day buying almost everything in sight. read more

Marcheleo's newest member to its kitchen has definitely made his mark. Have you seen what's been coming out of that kitchen!?!? Simply amazing!!!! Lobster Mac & Cheese!! Orange Glazed Salmon!! I have been a regular here ever since I moved to the area 4 years ago - if you are a health conscious individual this is your one stop shop. They carry a good variety of conventional stuff but I do not see that being their focus. I am aware Loblaws has opened nearby, but that will not stop me from shopping here. The store has an entirely unique selection of grocery and the food from the hot counter is in comparison to restaurant quality. I have it for dinner all the time, the lamb chops are exceptional. If I feel like preparing something at quick home the meat counter has pre-marinated options great for a guy like me. They source meats locally and support my son's public school within the community, unlike many grocery stores. Stone oven pizzas are another favourite, you can't go wrong in terms of the quality you get for $10. I order the Prosciutto Hawaiian at least once a week. Compared to other grocers like Whole Foods with similar products, I find their prices to be cheaper by far. When the flyer is on, there are some really great steals and as of recently they have been having flash sales too. We get our flyer in the mail shortly before the deals are on which makes sense to me. They do sampling and freebies regularly. Being a smaller shop, I find the customer service to be unparalleled. The staff has always been good to me. I have not yet found a reason to complain as a longtime customer, however I will say that they need to update their website. It is lacking some critical information. All in all this store is not for conventional shoppers who pay little attention to what goes into their bodies. I walked in here with my 2 girlfriends to check out the store. The owner was in the store and gave us a tour. He advised they have meals prepared to their specifications for diabetics in mind plus overall the stock approach is for gourmet brands. My biggest surprise were the prices for the quality - definitely cheaper than Metro. Great place to shop! read more
