I wasn't sure what I wanted, but Alla gave me so many options and patiently explained her recommendations while still supporting my decisions completely. She was very transparent and honest, which was a huge plus for me - finding a shop that doesn't pressure you was so refreshing. My weight fluctuated due to an operation and she went above and beyond to ensure I got my dress altered in a timely fashion. I got so many compliments on the dress and how unique it was. The most satisfying part was when two seamstresses (who both work at David's) gushed over the work of my dress, especially when they heard how affordable it was. Cannot thank Alla enough. I explained to her my citation and she was excited to help me out now the dress unfortunately would not be ready in time but lucky they have another store two doors down that had dresses I could take home today. When we got over there I thought there's no way I'm gonna find a dress I can afford but Haleigh helped me find one and it was a great experience. They only take so many appointments at one time so it's very personal and not a mad house compared to other popular bridal shops. As someone who gets overwhelmed easily this was such a relief. My associate Riley was such an angel, I could tell she really cared about my experience and made me feel heard and helped me articulate different things about the dresses to narrow down what I did or didn't like. She and the other associate who popped in occasionally (I didn't catch her name, but she was so wonderful to) really helped me get into dresses and made sure they looked right on me, and as a plus size bride with fewer options typically, they really did a wonderful job. They made me feel like I belonged and was deserving of a great experience and beautiful gown which meant a lot to me. They ran around pulling gowns, showing me skirts and using fabric to change the color - it was really cool and fun! I am so glad we went with this shop and they should be proud of how they train their employees, they were genuinely so so kind, caring, and knowledgeable. They took my measurements and recommended that I order the dress custom cut from the designer, which was a great suggestion (less work altering the dress). I received the dress a few months later and set out to have it altered. Once that was done, I took the dress back to Maggi Bridal were they steamed at no cost to me.

It was really…read moredisappointing to find out that the very first dress that she put on and fell in love with was $500 more than the max budget. The sleeves were an additional $350. The veil was an additional $350. The shipping was around $100. Alterations were estimated to be between $500-$800. I was offered a VIP package that would include steaming, a garment bag, a reduction in shipping to $80 and a discount on accessories of 10% and the price of that was $175. The total was roughly $2000 above the $3000 budget....... I share this so that you can keep these additional charges in mind as you budget. I encourage you to set boundaries early with your stylist and be clear on an out the door budget. I told them that we wanted to reevaluate the budget and make sure that we could make adjustments in other areas to be able to fit these unexpected costs into the overall budget. And that's when the high-pressure sales started.... We were basically told that if we didn't order the dress right then, that there wouldn't be enough time to receive it before her wedding. That really rubbed me the wrong way and I felt like it was just a sales tactic to close the deal on the same day. We left the store feeling disappointed. I got online to start looking for other shops to make an appointment at and that's when I came across the website called Bridal Closet. I saw that they carried the same designer and reached out to them to ask about their pricing structure for the same dress. I was shocked when the invoice that I received for the dress, veil and sleeves came in $2000 less than the price that Simply Blush quoted. As a consumer, I'm more inclined to pay a higher price at a small owned business when customer service is great but this is a time where I'm thankful that I didn't let emotions lead decision-making. We saved almost $2000 by locating the dress online. Bridal Closet was more transparent and explained that the designer has a $400 tariff charge for all of their dresses. They informed me that the dress was part of the fall 2025 release and would not ship until the end of August. They gave us free expedited shipping, a free garment bag with hanger and I did not have to pay sales tax. I highly encourage you to explore your options before making decisions. I will say that the second star that I gave this rating is because they were easy to schedule with, had a great variety to choose from and the shop was clean and organized well. My daughter had a good experience with the stylist during the fitting.

After trying on the first two, Edith brought me a dress she thought I would really like based on my feedback from the other dresses. The dress she brought me was PERFECT. And not at all what I thought I originally wanted! Without Edith and her daughter, I don't believe I would have found "the one" and I'm so grateful!
