Extremely Frustrating First Experience with Ashley Furniture…read moreThis has been one of the most frustrating furniture-buying experiences I have ever had, and unfortunately, this was our first purchase from Ashley and will most likely be our last.
When we were shopping for furniture, the sales associate Ahmad told us that if we purchased a mattress, we would receive $800 off our furniture purchase. When we calculated the total payment, however, I could not see any difference reflecting that $800 discount. When I asked him where the $800 savings was, he gave us excuses and an answer that did not make sense. That should have been our first warning sign.
Unfortunately, we were in the middle of moving and did not have much time, so we trusted the sales associate and decided to purchase the furniture anyway.
We placed our order on 9/5, and we were told it would be delivered on 9/8. Instead, the delivery came about a week later -- and the order was not even complete.
We received only a dresser and a bed. The bed was missing screws/parts, so the delivery team had to take it back. The dresser was also damaged, and we were told that a technician would come to fix it.
No technician has come so far.
Then, on 9/28, the replacement bed was finally delivered -- and guess what? It was damaged AGAIN and was also missing parts. The delivery team left it there, saying someone would come to fix it.
At this point, my bedroom looks like a yard sale. I have a damaged dresser that still needs to be repaired, a damaged bed that is missing parts and needs to be fixed, and my children are sleeping on a mattress on the floor because we still don't have a properly functioning bed.
What makes this even more frustrating is the complete lack of communication and follow-up.
When I contacted the dispatch team about the issue, they told me they didn't even know there was an issue with the dresser. How is that possible? It makes me wonder if anyone is actually keeping track of what is happening with customers' orders and complaints.
I also called the sales associate, Ahmad, and asked to speak with his manager. He told me that he would ask his manager to call me shortly. It has now been three days, and I still have not received a call.
So now I am left wondering:
Who is actually going to follow up with me?When will someone come to repair the damaged furniture? When will I receive the missing parts? And who is taking responsibility for this entire situation?
I understand that mistakes can happen, but this is not just one mistake. It has been delayed delivery, incomplete furniture, damaged furniture, missing parts, no technician, poor communication, and no manager follow-up.
This is completely unacceptable, especially for a customer making a significant purchase while moving into a new home.
I should not have to keep calling and chasing people to get furniture that I already paid for.
This was our first experience with Ashley, and sadly, it has been the worst furniture-buying experience we've had.Based on this experience, I would strongly think twice before recommending Ashley Furniture to anyone in my community.
