This review/testimony is not related to service done by Marco Muffler, it is however about the lack of integrity in my opinion of the owner Mark Fereira. I purchased a truck from Mr. Fereira in the middle of July, 2015. I use to be a mechanic but have back issues that prevent me from crawling under, and around a vehicle without pain. I asked Mr. Fereira if there was anything wrong mechanically with the truck, and what repairs or service might I have to do to it. He told me there was nothing needing attention, and all I would have to do is put gas in it. That was not true... turns out the timing chain/gears, and guide were shot, so too was the front end. The guide had literally disintegrated with only the bolts that hold it in remaining, the rest is probably in the oil pan. The reason I did not notice this upon first starting the engine up is because it was not "just started up" I suspect. The tensioner works off of oil pressure, it's a simple plunger that pushes towards the chain to take up slack. Once extended, it could "mask" a sloppy loose chain for one to several hours, but eventually the oil will bleed out of the plunger, and it will recede. That is why the loud rattling sound of a loose chain slapping against the cover is usually heard first thing in the morning when being started after sitting all night. Prior to inspecting the truck, I called Mark and told him I was about 20 minutes away and see him then. I can't prove it, but I suspect he told one of his employees to go out and start up the truck to make sure the plunger was fully extended. I suspected something wrong with the front end upon inspecting the wheels, and during the road test which was only around Orangevale and I was not able to go more than 40 mph. Loose front end parts are more noticeable at freeway speeds. Mark said all it needed was a alignment, and that the front end was in good shape, that too was a lie! After I bought the truck and began to notice these problems, I took the valve cover off and was shocked to see that the chain was so loose and had been for so long that it cut a groove approx. 2 mm to 4 mm deep, and several inches long into the side case/housing. This is evidence of a chronic condition. The truck swayed dramatically side to side while driving on the freeway, so much so that it was difficult to keep it in my lane and I appeared like I was driving while intoxicated. I felt too unsafe to drive the truck on the freeway since. I took the truck to a very reputable repair station for a second opinion, and even though the owner tired to be diplomatic, he told me he found it very hard to believe the prior owner did not know of these conditions. Now for the fun part; Mark's response to this "new" information. First he denied that he knew any of this, then after pressing the issue and asking him to be straight with me, he finally came out and said, " Ya, I knew, but you bought a used vehicle, and there's nothing you can do about it". I told him I thought he was a gentleman and I trusted him, his response was, "Well that was your mistake". He's right there, question is, do you want to make a mistake? If that's how he conducts his personal sales dealings, how does he conduct his customer dealings? Can you trust this man? read more

Had a rattling noise coming from one of my converters my neighbors recommended Marco, so I went down there and Angel the Manager had my car on the rack right away one of my converters was bad the other one they welded it open and put a camera in there and they where very honest the said the passenger side is shot the driver side you still have 40% left he recommended I drive it till it goes out. So because it was later in the evening I left the car there so they could work on it first thing in the morning, I decided to just go ahead and get both converters done so I already new what the cost was on each, Angel the Manager said are you sure ? you can still get another year or so out of it I said Angel go ahead lets get it done he said well since its here let me se if I can get you a better cost I will call you back now most places would take full advantage of me and Angel didn't have to do anything and I didn't ask him to, I had never done business with him before so he called me back 10 mins later and tild me he was going to use the ad he had out in the paper for the business for me which I had no idea there was one and he also took an extra 94.00 dollars off for me. This is true customer service !!!! he didn't have to do squat for me this is a guy who knows what good customer service is and he now knows I wont hesitate to tell any of my friends family or co-workers about the quality and care they have down there at Marco on Auburn Blvd. Thanks Angel !!! read more

Marco Muffler at 5181 Auburn Blvd, Sacramento, put my Honda CRV SUV, 2018 AWD Touring model, up on the rack to install catalytic converter anti-theft (security) protection. I took my car there after reading that Honda 2018 CRV is one of the most victimized SUVs in USA, nationwide, including the 2018 year. We were all surprised that my Honda had its catalytic converter way up above anywhere that a thief could reach with the usual battery powered hacksaw or equivalent tools that thieves use. Now we know. I asked how much I owed, but my money was refused, no charge to find out. Wow! That's why I opened a yelp account, just to write and post this review. Please be sure to ask a dealer, first: is your vehicle's catalytic converter vulnerable to theft? Then you won't waste time if it isn't. Some 2018 Hondas are vulnerable, so please find out! I drove my 2001 Wrangler 30 miles to Marco because of their outstanding Yelp reviews. Angel not only resolved my muffler needs in April 2017, he also noticed a rattle and tightened the exhaust manifold bolts. The Flowmaster muffler he recommended was very reasonably priced, including a veterans' discount, and increased the power and gas mileage of my Jeep, and sounds great. When I recently bought a 2014 Wrangler I again went straight to Marco Muffler to upgrade, met again with friendly Angel and got another Flowmaster. Pricing was fair, installation was thorough, and the tech even painted the muffler and pipes to blend with the undercarriage. Marco Muffler has friendly and skilled service and quality products. Its easy to have "good customer service" when everything goes smoothly. It's a very different matter when everything goes south and is a pain in the A$$. I had Max and Marco tangle with my 2002 certified motherscratcher-Toyota 4Runner that was an incredible headache to get smogged/running right. They kept at it, did;nt screw me on the price AND got it thru king Gavens air program AND FAST!! i will definitely use them again, they do first rate fabrication, at a fair price , this is a NO BS, well run business. I have taken all my cars to Marco muffler for the last 25 years, Today he did the exhaust on my 69 dodge Daytona and it fits perfect, nice and tight so I can keep it low. They always do a great job and if there is ever anything you are not happy with they will make it right.
