I called Marco Muffler and talked to Matt, the manager, asking if they could install a new exhaust part, AP/Eastern 739196, from Rock Auto that was CA/CARB approved. Matt asked me to come by and he'd give me a quote so I took the new exhaust to him on Wed and he looked at it at 3:54pm. He gave me quote of $150-200 to install new exhaust on my vehicle-a 2002 Dodge Dakota, 3.9L v6, rwd, with manual transmission. Matt told me the quote included any cutting, welds, or modification needed to install part; he just needed both the part and my vehicle to do it. So I agreed to quote and shook his hand. Then I brought my Dakota back to Marco a day and a half later on Fri morning to have the exhaust Matt looked at it installed. I dropped it off and he gave me a paper at 9:42am that showed installing the exhaust with no price on it. An hour later, they/shop put my truck on a lift and I looked at it with Matt and one of his techs/staff; the new exhaust was partially installed/not connected at this point. before I left at 11am, Matt gave me another paper that said $439 on it; i asked why it was more than double the amount he assured me of on wed, just a day ago. Matt replied that it was just a range and that he had to put that amount on there in case it took them more than 2 hours to install or they ran into a problem. I said ok, just making sure and he said don't worry about it so I left. At 3:12pm, Matt called me and said sorry that no called me yet; that they got busy and my truck had been done for a few hours. I went to pick up my truck which was parked out front when I arrived and while waiting to pay the invoice, i asked the same tech I saw earlier how'd it go; he told me the job was easy, it only took them about an hour to complete the installation on my vehicle. At the counter, Matt said he would only charge me $358 (348 cash) instead of $439 as they completed it quickly without any issue but acted like he was doing me a favor; so I ended up having to pay $348 which was $150-$200 more than Matt had assured me the cost would be and was only for 1 hour of labor and a $25 piece of pipe. I appreciate the services and products that Marco offers and I understand that shops/businesses need to make a profit however, doubling the quote Matt gave and assured me of and charging $316 labor per hour/for one hour is excessive even by the bureau of automotive repair standards. $200-$250 would've still been reasonable/fair but charging $350 for no reason is not. Matt was friendly and knowledgeable but I don't appreciate being deceived/lied to because I was at their mercy due to my vehicle being on their lift (and I was unable to drive it again or smog it unless they installed the exhaust). Matt has great customer service. He was able to get me in and out quickly and the tech did an excellent job. I would definitely go back and highly recommend them.

Side shot of the top. The shop crew and I all came to an agreement that slightly out would be best than flushed.

So in August I had my rear diffuser swapped with a IKON Rear Diffuser with Diffuser fins. This also presented on what size tips I should go with. So I headed down to Marco's Muffler and luckily they had the 4" tips in stock. The guys there were courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and professional work was done and completed. Here are the results. Specs: 5x8 Magnaflows Magnaflows X-Pipe Rear Resonator Removal 2.5" to 4" Generic Tips Hellcat Lower AirBox and Hellcat Air Filter. Deep Growl. No Flowmasters Baffled Sound. Slight Drone not much.

My 1949 Willys Station Wagon needed a muffler and tail pipe installed. I attend many different Cars and Coffees in the Sacramento area and from other car enthusiasts at those meet-ups Marco Muffler came highly recommended by many. The closest Marco from my place is on Fulton Ave. Even though their website said they opened at 8:00, I called at 7:30 and to my surprise Max answered the phone. I had been expecting a recording saying the shop was closed because it was Presidents Day. Max explained the shop was booked all day and he gladly set an appointment for me the next day. When I went in for my appointment I met Max, and Mark (the shops' owner). I explained what I needed, which was for my vintage car to remain stock, and Max offered his constructive input. Once the work was completed, I could see why so many of my Cars and Coffee friends recommended Marco Muffler. The craftmanship was perfect. The hangers were well placed to support the muffler and pipe, the welds were simply a work of art, and the price was more than fair. Derived from my experience, I highly recommend Marco Muffler for any of your exhaust needs.

I can't thank these guys enough! Had an appointment at 9am this morning. I wanted to see if we could get in earlier because I had so much to do and get done before our big road trip tomorrow morning. I called in right at 8am and asked if we could get in. I was told they had other cars ahead of me. (Sad face) and just as I was about to head out and try to kill an hour of our time somewhere, like the car wash or something lol Marco was out telling me they moved somethings around and they got my truck inside. SO AWESOME!! I was so happy. Not only did it fit my schedule but it gave me an EXTRA 2-3 hours to take care of the other things on my list quicker. Marco helped me and recommended THEE perfect fit for my truck. Sound wise and also price wise. It didn't even take that long either. An hour tops! I checked out and we went out to hear the truck start up and back out. It sounded so good. But then another small issue came up that I have NEVER had before. We had a tune up done yesterday so I started panicking. They were in the engine and checking things out. Turns out all my many keys on my keychain were messing up my ignition sensors. So they took the truck key off, put it back in and it started up AND stayed on. And only THEN I realized, that yes, we've had issues before with that. But it was more like pulling the key out and the truck STAYING on instead lol. But it was really good to know. Now I know and it makes a lot of sense. So I'm glad we came here and didn't go elsewhere. These guys are friendly, honest, quick and the work done here was exactly what my little family will enjoy for a long while. THANKS MARCO MUFFLER!!!

Phil has excellent customer service skills and helped my brand new Challenger rumble louder! They were very quick, I was in and out in less than 45mins. The staff was also great and had lots of knowledge. These guys definitely know what they are doing and I am recommending them to my friends. Thanks! PS check their social media, pretty cool!

I brought my daily driver in and saw Mark F. Super nice guy, very knowledgeable and helpful. He was able to get me a custom made exhaust system that I was completely satisfied with, at a fair price. I highly recommend Marco Muffler if you are looking to be treated right at a good value. Thank you!

I went in to get a quote and a few hours later I had my very own, VERY unique well crafted exhaust system. Sure they didn't have what I wanted (muffler and tip) but that's OK I'm a bit of a pro at this stuff. At first I just wanted the muffler and tip installed but after asking them about possibly moving my resonator out of the ground's angry way we decided on an entirely different setup. They moved my resonator upwards and forwards so it's now level and no rattles! I also had them rebuild my resonator (think cat back) exhaust piping to get rid of 6 years worth of multiple shops utilizing multiple setup's cleaner and smoother flowing, plus ALL NEW piping. Installed the muffler at the right height/ orientation and then worked meticulously to make sure the tip's angle and height were JUST how I wanted it. A hanger broke shortly after and when I went back we came up with a VERY much improved hanger system for my unique muffler to car equation. I was also able to meet every member of their staff as well as the owner. Top notch well qualified guys. Hell I was even able to sell Mark some of my tips that I had bought over the years but never had/ probably never would use! All this fantastic service for less than $225!!! Come see Mark and the crew at Marco Muffler.

They responded very quickly, priced fairly, and even provided time slots they had open, so I headed to the shop that same Saturday. When I arrived, they quickly directed me to pull in to start the service. It seems like I had just sat down when they called me back out to show me the the underside of the van. They wanted to know where I'd done the prior oil changes since whoever did them had stripped the tread on the pan from tightening the bolt too tight. I could clearly see that what they were saying was true and the pan had no tread and had been leaking oil this whole time. There really would be no way to do the oil change without also changing the pan. I asked how much that replacement would cost, and told them to go ahead complete the repair along with the oil change. This is my mom's mini van that I was going to drive back down to LA, so definitely wanted to ensure I was safe. I was told it would take 2-3 hours, but was quickly out in about 1.5. They even provided a discount when I paid since the repair was unexpected and fast, which I really appreciate. They pointed out some other concerns, but did not force any repairs on me, which I am grateful for. Will definitely be coming back for any future oil changes and repairs.

If you need an honest, knowledgeable, and fairly priced auto repair shop near Gold River or Rancho Cordova, I'd definitely recommend them. They've worked on my 2017 Ford Transit Connect, 2014 Mercedes GL63, and 2014 BMW X5. They replaced a driver-side CV axle, did oil changes, replaced brake pads and rotors, diagnosed and fixed an A/C and heater blower issue, repaired a trunk/liftgate problem, and also replaced a valve cover and gasket and battery. What stood out to me most was how knowledgeable, honest, and fair Samson and his team were throughout the process. The staff are friendly, the front desk is welcoming, and the customer service has been great. It's hard to find a shop that does quality work at reasonable prices, but 916 Auto Repair has done that for me. Definitely recommended.

I contacted 916 Auto after doing a 2 and half week research (which included Yelp and Google…read moreReviews) to have my 2004 Mazda 3 AC Condenser (Factory OEM) replaced. My AC Drier was cracked and inoperable since last year. In this region of the Sacramento Valley and Placer County, 916 Auto quote beat 5 shops I contacted in the region and 1 shop even told me it's not worth it and I should get a new car. Bet if my car was a 69 Camaro, they'd do it. Why? Cause its a Classic Camaro. No matter the condition. Some shops don't want to work on Imports. But oh well. Their loss, not mine. I contacted 916 Auto and spoke to Samson to schedule an appointment and he said to come by that very same day. And so I drove from Roseville to Gold River that morning. Samson is honest & to the point. When he pulled my car in, he noticed a coolant leak. Now I didn't notice any leaks in my driveway, as it would seem the Coolant is evaporating or dissipating, but he notice it was getting on my Alternator, by the stains. It turns out, my OEM water pump (factory part since 2003 for this model year in 2004) finally gave out at 262K miles. Who'd ever think a Mazda/Ford part would last this long. This was an unexpected thought as I only had budgeted for the quote. So I called my CFO (Wife) and let her know of the issue. She said get it fixed and she'll adjust other expenses as she knows I need AC for the upcoming summer temps. So I authorized Samson to proceed with the entire job. Now I can't couldn't do any price comparison, but he did give me a discount which still fit in my overall budget. I spent my whole day in their lobby. They have updated their lobby to make it feel more comfortable and less Auto Shop feel. I notice the many people who drop by to have their car service are all happy and are returning customers. From a Dealership oil drain plug that was torqued too tight, to oil changes, brakes, and even a customer who was a bit upset where the Dealership sent the wrong part twice. The Dealership. I spoke to many of them and they all had the same answer when I ask. "What made you come here?" They replied, "Their price can't be beat!". In summary, my AC is now working as it should. Now I only used my AC for 2 whole days It gets cold and it has been awhile since I have felt cold in my aging car of 22 years. With my new water pump installed as well, my car is running smoother overall. Smoother shifts, heater gets warm fast. Almost, now almost like it was in 2004. So, Did I find a new shop for my Project Commuter Car? Yes I sure did. They have gotten a new customer. Up next is my Transmission Gasket & plug. One thing at a time! Have fun out there & do your research!

They took the time to explain the process and reassured me that my vehicle would be well taken care of while it's stored there. I've been with them since I first started driving (back in TX) and never changed my membership/insurance since. BIG reason to trust them, right? - WRONG. Let's start off with the fact that I called and spoke with a technician over the phone to coordinate an appointment on my off day. I let him know what I need done (gave my Year/Make/Model, mileage and service code) and booked it for 10am the following morning. I had a code b0 which I identified and confirmed with him that it was an oil change, fluid check and brake inspection/fluid flush. I was told it should take several hours and can choose between morning or afternoon (10am done by roughly noon or Noon done by roughly 4/before close). I opted for the AM appointment so I would still have time do do what I need to do. Appointment day comes and I go to drop my vehicle off. I was given an ETA by the service advisor Phillip Tran of 1pm (when they got back from lunch) since I added SMOG to the b0 service. I was then offered a Lyft to get home until my vehicle would be done (YAY!). So far, so good. As time goes on, I have not heard anything from AAA. At 130pm, I call to check in on my vehicle's status. I was told by Phillip that it is not done yet but he will call me right back with an update. I finally get a call back at 2:19pm and he said there was some sort of delay with other cars being serviced that my new pickup time ETA will be about 4pm. I then get a call around 4:18pm for him to tell me that it took them all day, or so it seems, to identify that my dip stick was broken and they were unable to do the oil change. The icing on the cake was that they said they located and ordered an OEM dipstick from MB El Dorado Hills with a price of $96!! No one communicated to me at all or gave me the option on whether I wanted that or not - realistically, an aftermarket dipstick runs about $10-$15 online. Then Phillip proceeds to tell me they are finishing up my SMOG. Wait, what!? How does that make sense to complete a SMOG if the check engine light is still on because the service was not completed? Who trained these guys? Are they just trying to milk out as much billable hours to customers they think do not know any better? The technician who could not identify the dipstick issue in a timely fashion is listed as Elliott Maxsom. The SMOG inspector that decided to move forward with the SMOG was signed by David Cain. I asked if there was anything that could be done to remediate the situation. Phillip apologized and said that he "zero'd out" the inspection, as if that was a favor to me. OF COURSE that should not be billed - I KNEW it would fail if I did not get the full servicing completed. Who in the car industry does not know that!? The only "discount" I received was a measly $14.50 for being a AAA member. I asked if a supervisor would be able to contact me about my experience and was given a business card of the manager Jeremmy Sanchez. I was told that if I do not hear back by Monday from Jeremmy, to reach out again. Once again, I will lead the communication. We shall see if anything is rectified by Monday. Maybe this is a one-off experience (previous reviews appear that this happens often enough). It does not change my view on my insurance with AAA or my membership for Roadside. This is just beyond disappointing to know that I cannot trust or rely on their repair center.
