Three years ago, I walked into Marco Nail & Spa as a new resident of Apollo Beach. I didn't have an appointment because I had recently moved from Ohio, where walk-ins are common. Instead of treating a potential new customer with kindness and simply explaining their policy, I was met with rudeness and made to feel like I wasn't welcome. I left and wrote an honest Google review about my experience. Three years later, I decided to put that experience behind me and give this salon another chance. People and businesses can improve, and I believe in second chances. I made an appointment, expecting to be treated like any other customer. About an hour later, the manager called me and told me she was canceling my appointment because she knew I was the person who had written the negative review three years ago. Those were her words. Rather than welcoming a customer back and proving that the salon had changed, she chose retaliation. That decision says far more about this business than my original review ever could. A professional business values feedback--even when it's negative--and uses it as an opportunity to improve. Refusing service to someone simply because they shared an honest experience years ago shows a lack of professionalism and an unwillingness to accept criticism. Policies are one thing; treating people with respect is another. It is not the appointment policy that concerns me--every business is free to have its own rules. The problem is the attitude toward customers and the decision to blacklist someone for leaving honest feedback. If a business is confident in the quality of its service, it shouldn't be afraid of earning back a dissatisfied customer. I gave Marco Nail & Spa a genuine opportunity to change my opinion. Took my daughter here to get her nails done for having all straight A's. Arrived 30 mins past opening time, as a walk-in, because they advertise as accepting walk-in's, and I have been here before myself as a walk-in. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted and I told her my daughter would like to get dip on her nails. She asked me if I had an appointment, and I said no, we are a walk-in. She said sorry we don't have anything available today. That was it, basically just didn't want my business. Didn't offer another time that we could come back, didn't offer to make us an appointment, nothing. It came off as very rude. There were maybe 3 customers in there at the time. My daughter was very upset at the interaction, we went down the road and were treated much nicer. Please don't advertise that you accept walk-in's if you don't, and aren't willing to work with people who may not have an appointment. I will not be back, and I will be sure to let people know about my experience, so they don't spend their money here. Terrible appointment setting asked for girl in the first chair or the second one. I arrive and got someone else and they are booked up!! so I'm stuck with woman now cause my nails are at their end and NEED to be done so can't wait weeks to find somewhere else. I show her a picture of what I'm looking for it's a Dipset everyone in there can do dip however she argues with me that acrylic would be better even after I told her I'm not interested in that. I booked the appointment specifically for dip powder. Yeah it's probably simpler for her but I don't want the added chemicals on my natural nails. I don't know why she would take the appointment if she doesn't feel comfortable doing a Dipset on long nails like I explained when booking appt. so right there or you can tell that whoever took the appointment screwed up. Then the quality of workmanship from this woman is horrendous everything is crooked unbalanced Thick and lumpy very unhappy. Personally , I used to like this salon. However, I got a really bad nail infection from them in 2 nails. one finally cleared up after I went to my doctor and was put on antibiotics. Today I had an appt at 4:00 PM w/ Theva (I believe, that's what it says on my receipt). I was quoted different tiers of pedicures when I called ahead of time ($50, $60, and $70) I opted for the $50 "Deluxe Spa" because the $60 price had mysteriously dropped from the options, and when I asked the technician said that it did not exist despite them telling me so on the phone. I also requested gel nail polish. For this an extra $20 "Custom Price" was added to my receipt as well. I spoke to my neighbor who is a regular and she said this is NOT the price that she has paid previously. I did not even pay $70 for a deluxe spa and gel Pedi in NYC! Not to mention I also tipped. I feel very taken advantage of. Neither myself, my neighbor nor any of the ladies I get together with within the community will be frequenting this place any longer. Edit to owner response: Your response speaks volumes about your professionalism. Obviously, you DO play a "price game" because you do not post your prices in-store or online. I give this a five star rating as Lily who I go to there is wonderful. I have been having my nails done since the 1980's and she is one of the best. You need an appointment most times. My only complaint is the lingering mask mandate at this late date. The governor has lifted it so unsure why it is still being required. Employees having to wear masks for 8-10 hours a day are risking their health as it can lead to bacterial pneumonia. People are vaccinated herd immunity has taken effect and there is no real science behind it in fact the science speaks against it. God bless those in the service industry. read more

Since I moved to AB 2 years ago, I hadn't found a salon I really like, and was going back to Brandon...well, I tried Marco Nails as my neighbor recommend it. LOVED IT! Jenny did my nails, excellent, attention to detail, clean salon, friendly staff. I've finally found my happy place to get my nails/pedicure done. Worst salon around. Overpriced with girls that don't care to do their job. My wife went twice in two days. Once for a manicure and then a pedicure. Manicure wasn't down evenly. Nails weren't completely done. Paint job was so-so. She had an appointment and they took two walk ins before her. Then, the pedicure was worse. She again had an appointment which they took walk ins before her. The paint job on her nails was incomplete at best, but they told her she was done. This is essentially a dumpster fire. I walked in for a pedicure and I had a great experience with Jenny! She was so nice and spent a TON of time on my pedicure. The massage was fantastic and she was very meticulous between each coat of polish, cleaning and making sure everything was perfect. It is very clean and looks recently updated inside. This place was horrible. The only good thing about it was its decorated pretty. When I walk in all of them seemed to have an attitude especially the one who did my nails, and from the jump I noticed I was not going to like my nails. When she applied the acrylic she was not forming it correctly and it seemed like my nails were going to be bumpy but hey it was my first time there didn't want to get upset and say you suck already ‍ but yes she did at the end I got them done Saturday and Sunday as you can see from the picture below my nails already starting to fall off. The technician never completed a foot massage, but rather rubbed a little lotion on each leg. Then another time I called around 3:30 and asked if they had time for me to come because I know that it takes 2 hours for them do my nails and they close at 6. They said yes come.
