Under new management, the place has continued the Martello family tradition of great, handcrafted food in a hometown setting, but with a bit of an updated vibe. First, they do a fantastic job with gluten free options, and the chef's specials are phenomenal, also often with a GF capability. They have an artisan pizza crust,; tortellini; penne; and a Parmesan cream sauce -- all GF! The pizza crust is really terrific - much more like a "real" crust (which, their regular pizza is something I miss!) and they provide you with topping options that go from routine to delectably less common. I highly recommend their specials -- the chef is super talented; I love the steak tips; chicken Marsala; and fennel sausage (when they have it). Gluten not an issue -- try everything!! The Caesar salad is quite good, and the house Italian dressing a tradition. Marconi's was a cute little place to stop on our way to Kalahari. I got the small order of angel hair with alfredo and it was a great portion size and tasted great! My friends got a gluten free margarita pizza and I tried it and it was very good! They also got a regular pepperoni pizza and said it was very good and it looked good! Service was good and quick. I have been to this restaurant quite a few times but I've never tried the pizza. They have a gluten-free cauliflower crust and a artesian gluten-free crust to choose from for gluten free options. I love coming here and sitting on the back patio among the flowers and the herb garden. I've come here for my birthday two years in a row. The dipping bread, the French onion soup, and the alfredo are super good! The chocolate cake is just okay, but the peach and the pistachio cheesecake are super duper delish. My wife and I went her Saturday. Very friendly staff and pretty quick with service. The food wasn't bad but just okay, we've had better, but would go back. The reason for the three stars is I told the waitress I did not want the salad with my meal so she offered me soup instead. Little did I know she charged me extra for the soup. It wasn't a lot extra but when you say you don't want a salad and they offer the soup instead I think it is included not an additional charge because I didn't really want the soup either. We love Marconi's! We're in the area from time-to-time, and when we are, Marconi's is an easy choice. Speaking from a purely takeout perspective, I can't tell you how nice it is to have a restaurant that offers takeout with a drive-up pick-up window. Especially during COVID, this is so deeply appreciated. Marconi's serves up the delicious pasta, pizza and traditional Italian dishes that feel like their made by your friend's Italian grandma (or at least in my case). You can never go wrong with the spaghetti and meatballs with meat sauce, which comes with a salad. The value for a meal here is awesome. The restaurant staff is always super friendly. While we've never dined inside, we've tried the spaghetti and meatballs, the chicken piccata and the chicken marsala as our go-to favorites. The piccata sauce is excellent with a great lemon flavor. If you're in need of a reliable (in the best way), Marconi's is the place to-go in Huron! We're never disappointed by this family-owned restaurant. read more

This is a classic Italian-American place where you'll find all the classic dishes prepared well. I however chose to order as part of my dish something more local, and was not disappointed as the fried Yellow Perch fresh from Lake Erie was delicious accompanied with a fine steak. The service was decent but a tad slow for a large party in a private room like we were. If I could give zero stars I would...waited over a hour only to be told it was our fault we ordered French Onion soup (that came out cold) and pizza their oven was behind. Manager continued to argue "in their defense" we ordered soup that is an appetizer and that is why our food still wasn't out. Asked if she could bring out other entrees...then one person at the table would have had to watch us eat. Manager was so rude she said "would you let me talk." One of the menu specials featured fresh broccoli...my son loves broccoli so when he ordered he wanted a side of broccoli....to which the server told us they didn't have broccoli. I showed her the menu... she checked with the kitchen and they advised they do have broccoli bit bits frozen... now I'm confused. I ordered chicken parmesan and tje pasta came on a different plate than the chicken. The sauce was salty yet bland and watery. The breading on the chicken was waterlogged from the sauce and fell off. This place is the absolute best. People are friendly, atmosphere is upper scale but not intimidating, and the food is delicious! Conner was our waiter and I couldn't have asked for a better one. He was virtuous and professional. He checked in on us periodically and was very helpful. Super nice guy, he deserves a raise and the best tip you can afford. I'm from Indianapolis and stopped in the town of Huron on our way to cedar point from Cleveland and I have to say I do not at all regret stopping here to have dinner. EAT HERE IF YOU CAN! Last night must have been the c-team because I love Marconi's. I drive an hour to get here. The tomato basil sauce did not have fresh ingredients and the jarred garlic over powdered the dish. It really was awful. Chicken parmesan not crispy and hot but the meat sauce was delicious as always. Disappointing that the dessert tray came out wrapped in plastic and lacking appeal. The bartender served my wine dripping all over so I had to clean my glass first. I dont mind paying $20 for a plate of pasta when all the components of a great dining experience come together but last night service lacked in every way. I would have given 3 stars but this used to be my favorite Italian place hands down. read more

After seeing advertising since mid April for Mother's Day specials we decided to order today. Called around 3pm for 6:30pm pickup. They would not take payment over the phone & was there@ 6:10 pm & told to pay @ the window in which we were told to park & they're be out personally to collect out payment. 2 other workers were out along for names & orders about 7 pm. Still haven't been out to get our payment. Finally go to window around 7:30 pm to be told our order will be another 30 min at least!! Hi up 30 min later go to window... Told it's being packed & asked for full payment. They will give a couple canolis for our "wait". Still waiting 15 more minutes!! Got home to cold good & not what was dosed to be in our family meal!! We went here with my parents, and their friends, both visiting from out of town and staying in Vermilion; not a perfect meal, but it exceeded my expectations and had lots of delicious bites. I had the Pesto Asparagus Pasta on the recommendation of my waitress and it was great - the flavor was light and green and creamy. My dad and his friend had the Italian sausage (dad with peppers and pasta, friend as a side with ziti, because he was concerned about it being too spicy) and they were both pleased. My mom had Pasta Julia, angel hair with olives and shrimp, and she liked it, my husband had delicious Gorgonzola pasta, and our last eater had the manicotti and was a fan. The bread and salads were average , though I do recommend the arugula and golden beet salad, and I completely recommend the dessert plate of assorted cookies - delicious. This is a great family restaurant with a warm atmosphere; I'd absolutely return to sample more on the menu. read more

The last time we visited this place was 15 years ago; the food was tasteless. Tonight we gave it another chance and... the food was tasteless. I ordered a Mahi-Mahi (blackened and grilled, miso-lime couscous, mango compote, veggie) and my husband a Sautéed Beef Tips. His choice of veggie was broccoli. When it arrived, it was (over cooked) green beans... Beef tips were not so bad, but had not a drop of salt or anything else. Same with my food. The misso-lime probably just peeked at the couscous, but left no trace. The mango compote was merely a few cut up pieces of mango. And the green beans, that should have been broccoli, were over cooked. What a fiasco. read more
