Under new management, the place has continued the Martello family tradition of great, handcrafted food in a hometown setting, but with a bit of an updated vibe. First, they do a fantastic job with gluten free options, and the chef's specials are phenomenal, also often with a GF capability. They have an artisan pizza crust,; tortellini; penne; and a Parmesan cream sauce -- all GF! The pizza crust is really terrific - much more like a "real" crust (which, their regular pizza is something I miss!) and they provide you with topping options that go from routine to delectably less common. I highly recommend their specials -- the chef is super talented; I love the steak tips; chicken Marsala; and fennel sausage (when they have it). Gluten not an issue -- try everything!! My wife and I went her Saturday. Very friendly staff and pretty quick with service. The food wasn't bad but just okay, we've had better, but would go back. The reason for the three stars is I told the waitress I did not want the salad with my meal so she offered me soup instead. Little did I know she charged me extra for the soup. It wasn't a lot extra but when you say you don't want a salad and they offer the soup instead I think it is included not an additional charge because I didn't really want the soup either. I love coming here and sitting on the back patio among the flowers and the herb garden. I've come here for my birthday two years in a row. The dipping bread, the French onion soup, and the alfredo are super good! The chocolate cake is just okay, but the peach and the pistachio cheesecake are super duper delish. Marconi's serves up the delicious pasta, pizza and traditional Italian dishes that feel like their made by your friend's Italian grandma (or at least in my case). You can never go wrong with the spaghetti and meatballs with meat sauce, which comes with a salad. The value for a meal here is awesome. The restaurant staff is always super friendly. While we've never dined inside, we've tried the spaghetti and meatballs, the chicken piccata and the chicken marsala as our go-to favorites. The piccata sauce is excellent with a great lemon flavor. If I could give zero stars I would...waited over a hour only to be told it was our fault we ordered French Onion soup (that came out cold) and pizza their oven was behind. Manager continued to argue "in their defense" we ordered soup that is an appetizer and that is why our food still wasn't out. Asked if she could bring out other entrees...then one person at the table would have had to watch us eat. Manager was so rude she said "would you let me talk." One of the menu specials featured fresh broccoli...my son loves broccoli so when he ordered he wanted a side of broccoli....to which the server told us they didn't have broccoli. I showed her the menu... she checked with the kitchen and they advised they do have broccoli bit bits frozen... now I'm confused. I ordered chicken parmesan and tje pasta came on a different plate than the chicken. The sauce was salty yet bland and watery. The breading on the chicken was waterlogged from the sauce and fell off. He was virtuous and professional. He checked in on us periodically and was very helpful. Super nice guy, he deserves a raise and the best tip you can afford. Last night must have been the c-team because I love Marconi's. I drive an hour to get here. The tomato basil sauce did not have fresh ingredients and the jarred garlic over powdered the dish. It really was awful. Chicken parmesan not crispy and hot but the meat sauce was delicious as always. Disappointing that the dessert tray came out wrapped in plastic and lacking appeal. The bartender served my wine dripping all over so I had to clean my glass first. I dont mind paying $20 for a plate of pasta when all the components of a great dining experience come together but last night service lacked in every way. I would have given 3 stars but this used to be my favorite Italian place hands down. read more

Still haven't been out to get our payment. Finally go to window around 7:30 pm to be told our order will be another 30 min at least!! Hi up 30 min later go to window... Told it's being packed & asked for full payment. They will give a couple canolis for our "wait". Still waiting 15 more minutes!! Got home to cold good & not what was dosed to be in our family meal!! I ordered a Mahi-Mahi (blackened and grilled, miso-lime couscous, mango compote, veggie) and my husband a Sautéed Beef Tips. His choice of veggie was broccoli. When it arrived, it was (over cooked) green beans... Beef tips were not so bad, but had not a drop of salt or anything else. Same with my food. The misso-lime probably just peeked at the couscous, but left no trace. The mango compote was merely a few cut up pieces of mango. Could barely get through it and that's my go to dish in an Italian restaurant with which I am not familiar. However, I grew up on Lake Erie in Lorain County. I know good perch.
