I was craving Italian food and found this place after leaving Cedar park in the downtown Sandusky area! It's a family owned restaurant by a couple and son running the business. When you walk in the son asks where would you like to sit and he brings out the water. Then the lady who's the owner came out and was friendly and I got the lobster spaghetti and the soup on the day which is the Italian wedding both was good, delicious, and made fresh! I am a Bruschetta connoisseur it is how I know it's going to be a good meal. I found my favorite fresh full of Italian flavors Bruschetta. Then I had spaghetti with meat sauce and Italian dressing. They do daily specials besides menu. I like the family run business. Husband in the back cooking and wife was running the front. We started with Bruschetta for two. I enjoyed. Nice and refreshing. The bruschetta was delicious with nice size diced tomato, fresh, and combine with perfect toasted bread. Perfect balance crispy bread and fresh cut tomatoes. I got Spaghetti in meat sauce. Fan. Most authentic Italian food you will ever eat. The veal parmesan is real veal. The service is quick, the place is very clean. I cannot say enough good things to say about this place, but my wife and I have many fond memories. No preservatives in food, the owner told me how to make my own ricotta cheese from scratch. They have a public parking lot right in front of the restaurant so that made it easy to get in and out which is always a plus! I went to Sandusky area for a weekend trip and discover this Italian restaurant around the downtown area. I went on a Friday night and luckily they are not that busy. The vibe is very intimate and classy. This place will be great for a family dinner or a little date night. The Calamari Fritti just have a light seasoned breading and go well with the creamy dipping sauce. I also got the Spaghetti Monte Mare. The flavor is on the lighter side and can be brighten up with the grated parmesan cheese. I would prefer to have the creamy sauce a bit thicker. read more

A cute small place in downtown Sandusky with great food. We were there on a Saturday evening and the service was a bit slow, with only one server, who really hustled! But the food made up for the wait. Chicken piccata was delicious and the side of broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots was fresh and cooked perfectly. My friend had spaghetti which he said was very tasty. The tables look rather classy with nice goblets and napkins folded in a fancy way. Not authentic! Chicken Parmiggiana , lasagna, and spaghetti all tasted the same. Maybe slightly better than Chef boyardee. We also thought it may all be frozen from the Gordon Food Service store and reheated. Wedding soup was bland and more like chicken noodle soup. The soup bowl it came in wasn't even half full. They act like you are an inconvenience. while I was waiting for my food I heard what I believe to be the owner tell multiple customers that they are going to wait one hour for food so they should leave. the manicotti had NO cheese in it. sauce is not good. I also listened to them argue with parents over their child not being able to have egg. this place is horrible. avoid. the man yells at the woman a lot, you can hear them from the kitchen. 0/10. Being foodies from Scottsdale we have a rather high standard for dinning and this one delivered on all fronts. We started with house red bland wine, dry and perfect for great Italian food. Caprese salad and mussels as apps. Both fantastic, the mussel sauce was delicious, light full of flavor, so good I was eating it like soup. We ordered a pepperoni and mushroom pizza which was amazing. Fresh mushrooms and sauce are some of the best we've ever had. We finished with tiramisu which was delicious. 4 of us ate there a few nights ago. We were the only ones in the restaurant. The food was delicious if you can get past the owner yelling at his sweet wife constantly and telling his 11 year old son that he is stupid! On top of that, he starting yelling at us across the room expressing his political views after he heard his wife speaking to us. All we asked her was where she was from because she had an accent and she expressed that she missed her family back home. Even though the food was good, we won't go back! Ordered take out as we are on vacation seeing the islands. Saw the good reviews (however just now noticed they are from a year ago). Ordered spaghetti and meatballs and chicken parmigiana. The meatballs tasted like rubber and the chicken was 1000% reheated. Cold and warm spots throughout. Nothing was fresh. Even the bread I could almost guarantee was cooked hours before or easily the day before. When we went to pick up the food, no one was in the restaurant at 630pm on a Wednesday. That should've been the first sign. If you want reheated food, highly recommend. Don't expect anything fresh. read more

Chef Mic gets an A for effort, due to how often we heard the beeps in this 'supposed' authentic Italian restaurant! Not only did the microwave get used more often than not but when we heard the soup of the day was Italian Wedding soup, our ear perfekt up! We love that soup since back home, the guy that makes it is a genii is with flavor and ingredients! This soup was Horrible! No flavor and I'm pretty sure chicken doesn't belong in that soup! Well... I have walked past this place many times. I was a fool. The food is rather authentico... The caprese salad was perfect! Wedding soup was hearty and flavorful. But the real test: Gnocchi in meat sauce... seriously excellent. Subtle flavors and excellent consistencies. The sauce was the perfect viscosity... enough stayed behind for excellent bread dipping. We almost walked into the Subway next door since they have the same entrance.. and our "cheese garlic bread" looked very much like the two businesses share loaves. :P I got the Papardelle Puttanesca which was good! My boyfriend ordered something that I don't remember and also some meatballs... We thought they'd be served on top of his dish but they actually forgot it. When we reminded them we got a little bowl of 5 small meatballs on the side that were clearly microwaved. However the dinner was saved by the lovely tiramisu. Our server warned us to wait a little before driving since it was so boozy. Although the food can be a little lazy like with the Subway cheese bread and the store-bought meatballs, some of the dishes are pretty good. Everything about our dinner was dismal. We went here based on the positive yelp reviews, and we were unfortunately disappointed. To start, the bread was cold and hard. The Caprese salad tomatoes were not ripe, and no basil on the salad at all. All chicken dishes we sampled were horrible. The meat tasted like a bag of Tyson from the grocery that had been frozen and thawed repeatedly. It tasted chewy and old, like a case of salmonella impending. We had the mushroom ravioli and spaghetti alfredo (more flavor with thinner noodles). We asked about the recipes and she explained it all. Don't be worried that the parking lot is empty or that the restaurant is. We went here on a Tuesday night at 6:00 PM and had the entire restaurant to ourselves. But the food was still PHENOMENAL. The red sauce and lemon wine sauce are both amazing. And the prices are not high. You can tell everything is handmade and that the vegetables are fresh from a farmers market.
