Not only was every pizza wrong, but it was frankly just gross pizza. Chicken topping (that I didn't even order) tasted like it was canned, low quality ingredients, just gross. I'll eat anything; food has to be particularly nasty for me to not eat it when I'm hungry. Extraordinarily disappointing and even upsetting because we waited for an hour and we paid good money for this-- it's really expensive! ESPECIALLY for what you're getting. I don't like ever writing bad reviews, but I couldn't let someone be practically robbed by this place and say they hadn't been warned. You have been warned. You're better off with one of those $2 frozen pizzas from Walmart instead of $30 for a pizza that takes an hour to make and tastes like you scooped it out of a can and threw it in a microwave. If I could put negative 10, I would. I liked ordering from thiis plaxe, but I'm NEVER ordering from them again. This was the first and only time I have been treated so rudely. I ordered pick up and when I got there, the door was locked, but an employee was standing behind the counter. I knocked but he gestured that he will not open the door by shaking his head and drawing his thumb across his throat. I went back to my car and got my cell phone to see if I had made a mistake, but all the notifications I received stated that the order was confirmed, and there was a pick up time, which I was more than 10 minutes early so I would not be late picking up my order. I went back to the door and the employee finally opened the door and let me in. He kept telling me they were closed, I told him I put in an order. It was confirmed. He said, "No!!! I cancelled your order already." I looked at my app again and it did not say cancelled. He gave me excuse after excuse!! Him:"We are closed already." Me: Y'all close at 11:00." It was a little bit before 10:30.) Him: "well we stop taking orders at 10:30" Me: I put my order in before 10:30 Him: "well I didn't make it because I have to clean up and count the money." Me: that isn't my problem. I put an order in before the closing time. Him: well I won't make your order. Me: just make what I ordered. Him: if you don't leave , I'm going to call the police on you. At this point I was so frustrated and so offended, I started crying and sobbed and told him to call the police. At that, he started back peddling. He said please stop crying and said he would make my pizza but could not make the Stromboli because he put the dough in the freezer already. I could not argue with him anymore and just said fine. He said I'll make you two pizzas instead of one. I was so emotionally spent already and just agreed to whatever he was willing to give me. I felt so awful told him I was going to sit in my car and wait. I don't think anyone should ever feel like that when they go out to pick up dinner. If I hadn't ordered this for my family, I would have just left. Needless to say, I had lost my appetite. I was even afraid he may spit in my food. The last thing he said to me was that he had classes in the morning and so he was in a rush to close. Ah!!! So the real truth comes out. I think maybe Marco's should not leave an employee there alone that clearly closes up early and lies and turns customers away. The whole hood is running this store. Rude and ghetto on the phone, hanging up on customers, cancelling orders cause they want to close early. Nowhere does it indicate that their kitchen closes 15 minutes earlier than the actual time it states the store closes and the website still allows you to place orders. read more

Food is quick and easy to get. When you go to pick up, the service is nice as well. Only thing I find a problem is deliveries. I don't ever get my packets or the extra sauces I paid for. The paper they put on the bottom on the pizza box is probably good for the initial nonstick, but after refrigerated, the pizza crust sticks to the paper. Simply dreadful pizza. I had the "New York style thin crust with pepperoni" as a try out. I grew up in New York City on New York City pizza and these guys would have been run out of town for serving this third rate stuff up for money. I'll give them this - the thin crust was hand thrown, not that despicable cracker crust the other guys sell. But the pie came out swimming in grease so the crust was soggy with it, and horror of horrors - it was a 3 cheese pie. If anyone offers you anything other than straight up pure mozzarella topping (whole milk is best) run, do not walk, to the nearest exit. The taste was hideous and cheap and I wound up sending the majority of the pie down the garbage disposal unit. And when I grind up pizza, you gotta know it was bad. So here's another one of those cheap jack storefront pizza chains selling low dollar product to the masses, all to demonstrate once again that you really do get what you pay for. Get your pizza from a truly Italian sit down restaurant - it's well worth the extra few dollars you'll pay. In Houston, Texas I highly recommend 1) Antonio's Flying Pizza on Hillcroft St. near Westheimer, or 2) Luigi's Pizza on the corner of Newcastle and Bissonnet, or 3) Villa Roma pizza on Holly Hall at Knight Road. The difference is like night and day. These guys know how to make real New York style thin crust pizza. Give them a whirl and stay away from Marcos. Buh-bye - gotta go grind up more pizza. read more

I love Marco's because I don't have to spend $30+ for a high quality or specialty pizza. They don't skimp on ingredients here, and the ingredients are definitely higher quality than the national fast food chains. The thin crust pizza is just the right balance of crispy crust, sauce, cheese, and toppings. Favorite red sauce pizza is the pepperoni magnifico. This thing is just covered with pepperonis - I don't have to strategically take bites to make sure every bite has a piece of pepperoni. Favorite white sauce pizza is the chicken florentine. Real chunks of chicken, large tomatoes, bacon, spinach - yum!! Even my boyfriend who prefers red sauce over anything was surprised by how good the chicken florentine is. I always get my order to go, and I love how everything comes out fresh and hot. It takes about 10-12 minutes for a pizza to roll through... sometimes you have to wait 15 if they're really busy. Pizza is a 5/5 for sure. After I started eating here, I don't get pizza anywhere else. Service is only a 4/5 because a couple times they've let my pizza sit there in the back while I'm up front waiting. I don't mean a couple minutes - they let me wait at least 10 minutes because the girl up front didn't realize I was waiting for my pizza to come out. For example, their mushrooms are from a can, not fresh. Now I don't understand the service and quality control. Their soda machine was out of carbonation. So I was drinking flat soda. Salad bar was really just their pizza toppings they had for us to throw together into a salad. They open at 11am, we got there at 11:45am there was not a single pizza out for the buffet. Their response was that they were waiting for customers to start the buffet. So I sat around with other customers waiting for any pizza to come out. It was kind of frustrating because when you're on a lunch break, every minute counts. You would assume if they opened for almost 1 hour already that they would have at least 1 pizza ready to eat. The tables and seats were not clean... receptionist was just on phone when customers are not talking to her directly. When customers leave, no thank you or bye. They didn't put out more pizzas either when we ate almost all the pizzas already. So if you wanted pepperoni, you won't get any because others before you already ate it. So even though their pizza is better than Cici's... not sure if I would come here for the pizza buffet over Cici's. Not sure how to rate Marco's Pizza. When I ordered using Ubereats I was able to order a cauliflower crust pizza and it was wonderful. Based on this experience I ordered again using grubhub. I wasn't given the option of ordering a cauliflower crust and asked for it in the notes. It came peppered with some dry coarse powder and the crust was definitely not a cauliflower one. There are days that I would have said that this was the best "fast food" pizza around. It was my favorite, and my San Antonio friends were jealous. I had a location so close. It has been numerous occasions in the past 6-7 months that I have ordered (pick up), and it's just okay at best ( I can't speak for other locations). They messed up my order AGAIN (Hawaiian with pepperoni instead of chicken and Canadian bacon). I got all three. No offense to those who like it, but you should get what you pay for, and it was a religious restriction for our guests. The bottom line is that it's really gone downhill under new management. This is not the first few times but becoming a trend. I have started frequently going to Russos off of Eldridge and Dairy Ashford. They have a huge slice of pizza your way for really cheap. Literally, one slice fills my 15 year old up! I'm weird and get a prosciutto and arugula pizza, but anyone is welcome to do what they like. Ingredients for the salads are great, but I dont prefer the dressing (not bad, just a little too sweet for my taste).
