Everything was full of flavor and well blended. The bar tender working the to-go service was super helpful even letting us know that if it was our first time visiting we could register on the app and get $10 off of your first order which was an unexpected win! A new pizza place that specialize in Detroit style pizza. Detroit style pizza is square and drizzle of tomato sauce on the pizza. The pizza was delicious and the cost is fair to the portion of the pizza. It was not as busy at the time my friend and I went so our food came out quickly and that is good because we were hungry. The pizza was tasty and the sauce was not too salty. If I want Detroit style pizza, this is the spot to get to and they have good reward system. read more

Yay! I finally had the opportunity to visit Via 313. I've been driving along 10 with anticipation ever since they opened. Our first visit, dine-in, our second, takeout. By the fact that we returned, you may have already guessed, their Detroit style pizza is a winner. My husband and I enjoy different pies so the ability to each order our own pie is appreciated. Meaty or lightly topped, these pies are more than enough to feed one very hungry human, or two with salads, sides (and desserts ofcourse). The pie itself gives you all of the delights of a crispy, crunchy, buttery toppings filled crust, along with a bouncy crusted, sauce heavy, cheesy middle, best of both worlds, and I can see why the rotating offering keep patrons coming back for more. When available, don't skip the cinnamon breadsticks. They carry some of the strongest in the game. They're soft, fully coated, and served with the only appropriate drizzle- cream cheese frosting. Ordered food the other night and got the Assembly Line with a cookie ice cream. The Assembly Line only had a couple pieces of salami, even though it's supposed to have multiple meats. I was really disappointed, especially since I hadn't eaten all day and was looking forward to it. I called the store, and the manager was very nice. He apologized and said he would refund me for the Assembly Line. Since it was Friday, he said the refund wouldn't show up until Monday. Well... that never happened. When I picked up my order, the guy at the counter even said, "Oh, you're the one who only ordered sides." Now it makes sense. If you order takeout from here, I'd recommend checking your order before you leave. Even though they oddly seal the bag in front of you, it's still worth making sure everything is correct. $19 for some cheese and bread is ridculous. read more

Good pizza, nice servers, can be good for meet up with friends. I tried the Detroit pizza which is the signature dish and was very pleased. The crispy edged crust with the pillowy middle was delicious and my presence when indulging in pizza. The parmesan garlic sauce is a must to elevate any item and I liked their community out reach that donates some proceeds from the purchase of the ranch. I don't regularly order ranch with pizza so I tried that too. I also liked that you can mix and match types of pizza and the number of toppings to choose from. I was impressed enough to go again a few days later. I will note that while the servers were nice the pacing to the table could improve and the drink service wasn't great. Haven't tried any of the desserts but I would focus on the Detroit style pizza if you are going to indulge. read more

Swung by Via 313 for lunch. It's a chain pizza spot with several locations in Houston and originating from Austin. This location is located in a plaza near Memorial City and adjacent to a few other restaurants. Plenty of parking out front in the combined lot. The interior is spacious and it's traditional sit down service. The service was slightly slow although friendly; we ordered some apps to start, namely the meatballs and artichokes. I didn't try any of the meatballs but I was not a fan of the artichokes roasted and put over marinara sauce. I got a small Caesar to start; unfortunately it was very standard iceberg and a bit strong / prepackaged Caesar dressing that came with it. We ordered the Detroiter and Cadillac in the small size and in Detroit style. These came out decent; it reminded me a bit of the old school deep dish Pizza Hut from eras past. The crust is a thick grandma style and pretty crisp. I personally preferred the standard pepperoni option over the fig and pig option; if they used thinner cut prosciutto instead of the meat they used, it would've been an upgrade to the pie. The sweet sauce underneath the ham was a bit too sweet and it would've been better to use slices of fresh or dried figs instead (imo). The dough came out pretty good. We also got a supreme bar pie which came out a bit underwhelming. Their thick granny style pies are definitely a step above their bar pie. Overall, it's a fun and casual pizza spot but there's much better pies at the same price point for a thin crust style. The apps and salad were a bit lacking as well, which is unfortunate as there are quite a few easy to make appetizer options for the fast casual Italian cuisine that is oh so popular at the moment. If you try them out, I would recommend the their Detroit style pies and the simple and classic topping options are the way to go. read more

There's ample parking in front. A hostess stand greets you in the entry foyer with friendly staff. There's a bar, booths, and high tables available for seating. Restroom is clean with a single toilet which is ADA compliant. First time visitors are rewarded a free appetizer or dessert. Gluten free crusts available and budget friendly lunch specials. What a surprise to find real Detroit style pizza in San Antonio. This location at the sound end of The Rim shopping center is worth visiting. Their famous Detroit style pizza takes about 30 minutes to cook so I highly recommend trying one of their appetizers. Our server, Sarah was a wonderful guide to the menu and aided in our selections. We started with the artichoke & goat cheese appetizer. Imagine warm bubble marinara with artichoke hearts, goat cheese and basil alongside crispy crostini. For our entree we decided to share a large Omnivore Detroit style pizza. The focaccia style crust was awesome tender soft bread with a slightly crisp bottom. Generous topping of cheese, sausage & pepperoni. There is a little bit of spice in the meats. We were only able to eat 2 slices each so we boxed up the remainder to take home. I already know this is one of those items that is gonna be awesome reheated the next day. We did get try the cinnamon sticks desert. Wow, it was warm, soft and delicious. Reminded me of warm beignets with cinnamon and powdered sugar. Very sweet. Take time to read the story of the restaurant. From Food Truck in Austin to a booming business. We were delighted to hear that there are more locations in San Antonio, Houston & their home base in Austin. I hope they expand and open a location on the east side of San Antonio or New Braunfels. A great portion. My coworker and I split the pizza and salad and were stuffed to the brim. The order was ready on time but they forgot to include our drinks. It reminded me of Chicago style pizzas, which are definitely not Italian. The sauce was on top of the toppings for the pizza which I didn't care for. The best part of the pizza was the crusty edges. Pizza Night - First, let's understand that while I will eat an occasional national chain slice, I am in that era where I have to make good use of my calorie count. I have no time to waste on bland pizza. While searching for a wood fired version, I saw this Detroiter-style that I'd had in a different city and knew it was making the menu. I've been to every single Via 313 in the Texas region. I've most recently went to the location in Houston, Texas, and let me tell you what Will was our waiter and he did an excellent job. What a nice guy. Very personal and made sure Food came out in a very timely manner. We really enjoyed talking with him as well. He's doing a great job here via 313. Food: I said I've been to every single Via 313 and Texas and this is just like the rest of them. They're serving up top-notch Detroit style pizza. We got to have Detroit and the carnivore. Let me tell you what it was top-notch. My son and I devoured it. Also, they have the dessert which is absolutely amazing. Every single bite is full of flavor and very tasty. We love Via 313 so much we've actually even been to their location that they own in Colorado called blue pan pizza. This is how you know that I go out to eat way too much. Got to try out this place as part of a soft opening thanks to my Yelp pal Justin T's invite. Very excited to try a Detroit style pizza and with Houston not having much of a Pizza scene I expected this to be a hit. The service was fantastic throughout, our server was very attentive and informative. Via even allows customization for vegan or nondairy options! The edges were crispy and the toppings tasted fresh which is all you can ask for. I've never tried this kind of pizza before and I almost want to say I really like a crunchier, fried texture crust. Houston has many pizza places but this latest addition is a delight. I never had Detroit style pizza, and I got to know Via 313 from my friend who grew up in Detroit. According to my friend, the pizza here is good and close to what it is in Detroit. I got the cheese bread to start. It was cheesy and good. It wasn't a bread but a cheese pizza without the red sauce. I had the half and half Carnivore and Hawaiian pizza. Like a typical Detroit pizza, the sauces were added at the top after the pizzas were cooked. My pizza was delicious. The ingredients were fresh, and the sides of the pizza were crispy. The dough was soft too. My friend had The Cadillac which I took a small bite, and it was so good. There was quite a wait for the food but it was worth it. My server was extremely patient to explain the menu. The restaurant is of a good size and has a pretty chill ambience. Another popular Austin chain has landed in Houston! I, for one, extend a howdy! Four of us went here for lunch, we shared the Carnivore, Bobo Brazil, and the Cadillac, which was way too much for us. All three were amazing, but I think the stand out was the Cadillac, the fig and balsamic combo is fantastic. I think the others' favorite was the Bobo Brazil due to the hot honey. Honestly, it seems like you can't go wrong. Each piece is nice and crispy on the sides. Hell, I'm mainly a Neapolitan-style pizza guy, but Via 313 can convert you too! Have been waiting weeks for this local Detroit restaurant to open in the Memorial area. When you walk in you can feel the cool smooth vibe of Detroit.The hostesses were fantastic in getting us a great table inside although they also had some outdoor seating . Lubo ,our server, had our food orders in and food out quickly. He checked on us often even though it was a full house of customers. We started with an antipasto salad made up of fresh chopped romaine, ham,calabrese,cherry tomatoes white cheddar and pepporoncini with an Italian dressing. DELISH!! I got here on a Monday night. Place wasn't too packed. They got a bar and plenty of drink options if you want alcohol. They even have some of their own specialty drinks. It's not so much a "pizza joint". It's a place to get with friends or even a date spot. They had Faygo Pop and this was something I grew up with in the Northeast so I went with that. Moon Mist was kinda like a Mountain Dew. Wish they had the cola! The meatballs were a pretty decent starter. Add some of the crushed pepper to it. Brings the sauce to life! My server was pretty good and she went through the menu. She did tell me the pizza could take 25-30 minutes so don't come here "hangry". This gem of a pizza place just opened up in the Spring Branch/Memorial City area. I've never heard of the name before but apparently it's a popular place from Detroit. It's a sit down kinda vibe restaurant. I thought only because it was near Velvet Taco it gave off that counter service vibe but it's not. Pleasant surprise! The restaurant is spacious and inviting. I was welcomed by the hostess at the front and she showed me to the bar area. Melanie was the bartender and provided the best service. She has great energy! I started off with an unsweetened tea and a small Caesar salad. There are no lunch specials so be prepared to bring a doggy bag home. The salad was good. Tasted very fresh and was topped with a large Parmesan cheese wafer. I felt that really pulled the salad together. I felt it could have used more Caesar dressing but that's just me, tasted good nonetheless. I waited for a bit for my pizza but I wasn't in a hurry. They did say the pizzas take about 25-30 minutes so not an ideal place if you're in a hurry. The lunch rush came in and I could tell they were slammed. I ordered a small pepperoni pizza. The pizza was excellent and i asked for a side of ranch and she brought me an extra side. The pizza is very filling. You could easily split a small. It was cheesy, crispy, and the sauce was on top! This is our new go-to pizza place. Abigail was our server, and she is a rockstar. Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. We ordered a Detroit style carnivore pizza and a bar (round thin crust) style pizza. I've been wanting to try a good, authentic Detroit style pizza for a while now. It's square-cut, rectangular deep dish pizza. Legend has it they originally used oil pans from garages. Melted cheddar cheese was used to oil the pan. The version they make here is absolutely freakin' delicious! You must get one. The bar style pizza was good. Nothing to write home about. Again, the Detroit pizza is what you need to order. The service was great and because this was my first time visiting one of their location, the bar staff was really informative and helpful in me making a decision. I decided to go with a small order of half The Detroiter which is a traditional Detroit style pizza with pepperoni and sauce on top. The other half was The Cadillac which was a prosciutto pizza with fig jam and a balsamic glaze drizzle. Both were great! As a Texas who hasn't traveled much of the U.S. I have no affinity towards the Detroit style pizza. I found it to be really great and dare I say maybe better than what I know to be NY style but I'm not here to start a war on pizza. Stopped by this evening hoping for a chance to try it asap. We started off enjoying a couple cocktails for happy hour. Pretty decent Moscow mule. Instead of a true appetizer, we had a Caesar salad. The small was the perfect size for two to split. We got a split large pizza which has 8 slices with the Detroiter and the Rocket. The pepperonis had a perfect crisp. The crust was the perfect crisp but fluffy. Perfect amount of sauce. It was nice to be in a pizza place full of life again. The servers had smiles. It is child friendly or nice for a date night. I thought I was one of the only ones counting the months for them to open but they already have 10 reviews and the grand opening is tomorrow! Was thrilled to make it to the soft opening on Day 2! Food and service were both great. We started with a round of cheesy bread which was light and refreshing. For pizzas, we went with a small Detroiter and a small Bobo Brazil. Great melty cheese and juicy pepperonis on both. With no insult to the pizza, the cinnamon sticks were the icing on the cake! The cream cheese topping was outstanding! I've had Via 313's other locations several times, but always as carry out. This was my first time dining in. Compared to my past carry out visits, and also compared to the other Detroit pizza options in town, I found the dough really fluffy and the pizzas less greasy. My friend and I tried the omnivore and rocket pizzas to go on a busy Saturday night. The omnivore was tasty with ample toppings like pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, onion, and green peppers. The rocket was also delicious - I was concerned that the hot calabrese would be unbearably spicy, but it wasn't overwhelming at all, whatever spiciness being offset by the arugula and shaved parmesan. For both pizzas, the crusts were thick and reminiscent of cheesy bread. In terms of their portion sizes, they were fairly standard. I would say each small pizza slice is a little bigger than your palm, and as they are Detroit style pizzas, each small pizza has 4 slices. Parking was convenient, as there is a large lot shared with other eateries like Velvet Taco and Goode Seafood. The online ordering process was easy, and the pizza was ready promptly at the time I had set, and they provided crushed red pepper and parmesan packets to go. For Detroit style the smallest option (at dinner) is a 4-square which feeds 2 people. The slices are huge. Like I can eat two but then I'm super full and probably not moving for a while. The Bar-style smallest pizza is a 12" round, which can feed 1-3 people. They have all kinds of toppings and specialty pizzas to choose from! Lastly the service was great! Everyone there was friendly. The pizza takes a little while (maybe I thought so because I was rly hungry).
