When the newer fancier theatres were sold out, this place is where you can get to the popular films. Unfortunately it's still not updated and stadium seating l, but for basic it's fine. Food and beverage items include beers, seltzers, lots of candy options too. Staff was great and I really enjoyed the show. Felt a little cheated though when the affects I heard about weren't possible at this location because of the seating. But I'm still glad I went. read more

Terrible customer service!!! Do NOT recommend this theater. We prepaid our snacks bc they recommended we do so but Olivia gave our food away to other people. So although we ordered them and my hungry kids were patient while they tried to make them. It took 2 hours, for them to give them to someone else. So no food that we paid for and we missed half the movie dealing with these people. read more

A really nice, quaint, Marcus theater. Standard five dollar Tuesdays movies, and six dollar senior discount matinees. Very clean, and well organized. Choosing your seats online is very helpful and efficient. The only complaint is you have to order on one side of the snack counter and you pick up on the other. And it's a lot of trouble to get a free refill and have to wait in line again...especially if it's a long line! read more

It's not a bad theater, but compared to the Majestic or some of Marcus's other options, it's the forgotten step-child. When they get dream loungers the game will change, but until then this theater will only get three stars. It is, however, a nice option when the other theaters with the sign seating are sold out. Well, it is hard to even begin in how many things are wrong with this theater. It seems throw out the years this theater has seen better days. The quality has plummeted to a low from costumer service to even maintaining the building. Let me tell you some of the many things that have failed in location. Once you approach the theater you start noticing things right away like most of the neon lights are not even on, the posters of the movies showing for the week have no light and no times are shown, garbage bins are full, there is popcorn all over the sidewalk along with candy. Sometimes the lights in the parking lot are not even on. These are a few of the things I see just walking in the building which I haven't gotten inside yet. Once you walk in and purchase your ticket you think it will get better but it doesn't the concession stand where food is sold it has to be the dirtiest I have seen. Not only their staff has not been properly trained in food handling but there is no one around them who has a food serv certification to make sure things go correctly. The bathrooms are practically in shambles the tile floor coming apart and some stalls you can not even lock the door to have some privacy. The movie room has this seats that are all deteriorated with food and gum stuck to them and some screens are damaged as well so the movie when it's showing has imperfections. Now the question to ask really is where are the managers? Well from going there for a few years I have noticed they like to hang out in this little room by the right of the entrance a lot l. Who knows what happens in there but I tell you something it's not working. Oh and if you are there please check out the soda machine. It is filthy and same goes to the straw and soda lids dispensers. I think this place is really going down cause the management running this place is a joke. I'm surprised the Marcus corporation has not cared enough to make some of those changes. I think The CEO perhaps has to step down making those stupid commentaries before the movie starts and pay attention to his staff that he has in charge of the things he has. How hard is it to not have freezing cold water in the bathrooms? @greglovesmovies The movies, whether good or bad have nothing to do the theater so you have to look at the amenities. Aside from the snack bar, you have the seats and the bathrooms. The seats are average for theaters, as is the snack bar. So let's talk about the bathrooms: freezing cold water out of the sinks and one of the bathroom stalls was installed so the right wall is 2 inches from the toilet. I'm not a big person and I could hardly fit. read more

I have to say this place has really made improvements over the last year. The food quality has gone way up and the service is amazing. The staff seems overall more friendly and professional. I grew up in the Mukwonago (Eagle if we're going into specifics) area. Hillside was always the theatre you went to because it was the closest one unless you wanted to drive over 30min...hashtag country life. Lately I find that this more simple theatre pleases my old school vibe. It's by far the least updated theatre in the Marcus chains but that's what I like about it. I'm sure one day it will get a facelift but for now you can enjoy the simple way of seeing a movie. This theatre has NO reserved seating and No big screen bistro. Personally I enjoy that ( I'm a last minuet movie goer ) because you can get tickets and just find seats wherever you want . Lately I find a lot of theatres that offer the reserved seating are leaving the last minute movie goer with seats not by each other or seats only left in the front row. People who do reserve a seat online don't always show up and that leaves the theory of reserving those actual seats pointless because it shows the seat as reserved and leaves other people who are actually at the movie out of good seats having to sit elsewhere . When Beauty and the beast came out I looked at every theatre and the seats for all showings were full( for the first week). I came to hillside on a whim and I got lucky! I showed up 20 min before the movie start time and got two tickets and was only 10th in line and got a good spot. I suggest coming here for the hot new movies. You have a way better chance of getting a ticket and a good seat. Sure the chairs aren't those delux lazy boys but they're still comfortable and the theatres are still always clean. Being a small theatre the bathrooms are ALWAYS stocked with supplies. Also it's not to crazy for $5 Tuesdays ! If you're sick of crowds and just want to go see a movie the good old fashion way then come on down to the Marcus Hillside. Side note : This theatre is located directly off the freeway and has tons of stuff around it such as: Resturants,Target,Wal-mart,Home Depot,Valvoline,Kohls,Pet Smart,Dollar Store,Water street brewery....I mean you name it they'll have it around the theatre! This theater is in major need of a makeover. Went to see a movie last night, hurrying to get there on time after work. The theater was empty and after a handful of people did arrive the previews started more than a half hour late. We found it comical having them show The Marcus theater spot with the beautiful lounge chairs which this theater doesn't have. Matter of fact one of our chairs had duct tape on the back of it to hold the foam in. For a Friday night it felt like ghost town. We will drive further next time to get a better theater experience. read more

I pre-purchased a ticket for a Wednesday matinee of Bombshell, the movie about the Fox News Roger Ailes scandal. As this was a 1:00 p.m. movie in the middle of the day on a weekday in a completely empty movie theater, I brought along my 6 week old infant on my first foray since delivering. When I arrived at the theater, I was informed by the staff that no children under 6 would be admitted to an R-rated movie because "it's the law". First of all, it's not 'illegal'. Secondly, this is an infant. He would nurse and sleep the entire time, he literally can't even see six inches in front of his face, let alone take in a docudrama about the MeToo movement. What a ridiculous policy. For a dilapidated theater, I'm surprised that they would turn away business with no regard for common sense. read more

I went to Hillside tonight because it was the only theater in the area playing the movie we wanted to see. Now I remember why I hate this theater. I've been going to Majestic since 2007, even though Hillside is closer. It is a million times better. Hillside has the old seats. They are so ungodly uncomfortable. They are so close together. People kick your seats. It was also so unbelievably hot. Normally I need a sweater at the movie theaters. The employees are great. Don't get me wrong. But this theater needs to get Dream loungers Greg Marcus. Or you need to just tear it down. Between Majestic and the soon to be new Silver Spotlight or even the theater in Menomonee Falls, I will never go to Hillside. I would rather drive to The Ridge. I enjoy the Dream loungers and the bistro large office chairs way more where no one kicks your seat and no one is in your lap. read more

Wow, just wow. This was my first visit at the movie theater in Delafield and I think this will be the last one. We saw the movie 4th of July and we arrived late and the movie was about to start. So we took the 3 row from the top. As I sat down, I smelled pee, I thought is this cat litter pee or human diaper pee. My friend who accompanied me, did not said anything, I did not say anything and I thought I have that smell on my shoes. We smelled this smell the entire move. I was wondering it the seat smelled or someone smelled who sat behind or in front of us. It was the worse movie theater visit ever. I will not go to this movie theater ever, because it smelled so bad. read more

Ahh I can't believe I am giving a theater 2 stars, but once the crown jewel of Marcus has sipped quite a few notches. I can only assume a face-lift is coming in the next few years, but until then, you will be much happier driving to Brookfield if you want a nice theater. If you prefer a less busy place with no frills, then you will be just fine at the Hillside. But if you want recliners, a bar, better food options, Ultra Screens, then you need to head down 94 to the Majestic in Brookfield, which is also a Marcus Theaters, so they still get your business. The staff is fine, friendly youngsters most of the time - what you would expect out of a movie theater. Never had any issues and they all seemed friendly and willing to help. read more

It's similar to the other Marcus theaters...but worse. I went to see Nightcrawler on one of their smaller screens, and when I went in the theater, I saw they hadn't cleaned it up at all. Popcorn and soda were everywhere! So we had to carefully find our seats through all the mess and filth. For the price of movie tickets these days, you should be walking into a clean theater, where you don't have to walk over the last crowds trash. Poor form Hillside. If you can, go to a different theater. read more

I don't know what is up with the rest of these reviews, but I love this theatre. Maybe they don't have the dreamloungers, or a restaurant, but they are immaculate in every other case. I've been going every Friday for the Fast and Furious screenings and I have nothing to complain about. read more

Took my kids to the 4:45pm showing of Coco (Thanksgiving Day). We arrived around 4:15pm to get drinks, popcorn and to use the bathrooms. We get into the theater around 4:30pm and get our seats. The typical plethora of previews began around 4:45pm and still by 5:20pm the movie hadn't started. I went out and asked for a manager asking why over 30mins after the listed start time the movie hasn't yet started. While I was talking to her another person came out of the same theater and for the same reason but she wanted her money back. Finally at 5:24pm Coco started. I can see 10-15 mins of previews and what not but 39mins worth of stuff is way too much. Especially for a kids movie. read more

Hillside is close to my home so most convenient location for me to visit to see a movie. I go there around 2-3 times a month depending on what's out that i want to see. Have been there probably a good dozen or more times in the past 8 to 10 months. NEVER have I been disappointed in the venue. Staff is always very friendly and cordial, theaters clean and inviting to visit. Granted they don't have the amenities of the Marcus Majestic unit (bistro dining option being the big one) but Hillside Cinema is a great location/venue to visit for a movie. Recommend it to my friends and others. read more

The seats at Marcus Hillside Theater in Delafield are too old and very uncomfortable - they are painful to sit in. It is not the fault of local management, but rather, corporate. I am certain Delafield wants new seating. Corporate is making improvements in other theaters, building new theaters, but neglects this location in Delafield. Shameful! read more

As usual, not enough cashiers to move the line on a Saturday night. People standing in the cold. -------------- 1/8/16 update: Called HQ about prepaid ticket holders having to stand in the box office line. They said "that's not right. Every location should have a kiosk or a separate line for prepaid customers." I told them that Hillside does not. They asked me to call the theater (not sure why they could not call their own theater). So I called. Spoke to A manager. Nope...No kiosk...No separate line....No plans to add one. The on duty manager agreed with me that it is inconvenient to customers. She said it was also inconvenient for employees and THEY too wished they had a kiosk or line. She said she would ask the General Manager about how to get a kiosk or line. We will see. Nice people at this theater. They just work for a clueless company or managment team. Zero stars. For lack of customer focus. As for the lines out the door into cold weather..... Dudes! Move you box office desk further inside the door so the line can form inside the building. read more
