Updating my review from five years ago, mainly because of the recliners. Yes, this theater now has a full bar and a "restaurant" inside. You can order and take your food into the theater, but there's no "table seating". Be aware you'll have to hold the food/rest it in the armrest and eat. Best upgrade is the recliners in some of theaters. Dark red leather. Comfy, yet firm, padding. Watching Baby Driver from the second row from the screen was a-ok since the seats recline far. Bonus: go see a movie in a recliner theater on $5 Tuesdays, and that makes your trip worth it. read more

I haven't been to this theater in 12 years, so I didn't have high expectations based on what I remembered. Theater- They must have updated the theater because I didn't realized they had recliner seating. Which is the main reason I'm giving them 4 stars because I hated having to go to Easton just to enjoy a movie. I really can't stand regular seating because it's not comfortable and to me that's half the point of watching a movie. Prices are good I think it was 11$ for an evening showing. Employees- The three employees behind the register were being unprofessional and obnoxious in their conversation. Pretty much ignored any customer interaction but they all did look older than 20 years old so they probably don't value the job in the first place. Food- I never buy theater food though so I can't comment on any of that but I assuming is really pricey Overall- Clean theater, comfortable seat, fair pricing. When we lived on the north end, we loved to visit Marcus Crosswoods because of the dreamloungers and now that the Pickerington location has all their theatres outfitted with them and we live on the eastside, that is our cinema of choice. If you've never experienced the Marcus theatres, you should know: When you go to the counter or kiosk to get tickets, you are ALWAYS asked to pick seats. The graphic of the theatre from which you select seats shows where the screen is and where the back of the theatre is AND the seats that show connected are the love seats...pretty intuitive, I think. If you're a first timer, say so and the ticket sellers will help you understand the screen and help you select. I LOVE the dreamloungers for a number of reasons: the aisles are more spacious so latecomers in your row can get around you even while you're reclined... and there's no one kicking the back of your chair. If you get their late and have only front row seats available, the extra reclining makes those seats just as good as the rows further back. I've never had to wait too long for concessions. It naturally gets busier within 15 minutes of a show so why wait so long to get there, if you don't like lines. I do think the theatres should make an effort to spread shows out a little more to keep the crowds arriving just before shows from competing with 4 other shows starting about the same time. That is an issue I have with all theatres around Columbus, though. (Honestly, I remember when there were fewer theatres in Columbus and you ALWAYS had to plan to get to the theatre 30 to 45 minutes before the show to wait in line for tickets and concessions.... so grumbling about arriving 15 minutes before the show and having to wait in a long line to get food doesn't earn my pity. We definitely have it way better now!) One more recommendation: Get a Marcus Movie Rewards card! You can log on and select your show AND seats before you even arrive, your rewards card waives the $1.50 per ticket "convenience fee" and you can have your tickets sent to your smart phone. Then when you arrive at the theatre, most times when it's really busy, you can bypass any line for purchasing tickets and the ticket taker behind the ticket sales counters can scan the code from your phone and print your tickets for you. I never buy tickets at the theatre anymore! Also show your rewards card at concessions and you either rack up more points or end up getting $$ off your food. Last time we went, my hubs and I ordered a large popcorn and soda and learned we had enough points to cover it all! Sweet deal! read more

This is the closest theater to us. If it were not for route 256 traffic it would be wonderful. Theaters not too dirty, nice reclining chairs, at least one big screen. Food overpriced but the real food section isn't terrible. read more

I don't normally go to Pickerington to watch a movie but I joined my daughter last night to see Downton Abbey. Imagine my surprise when I was told to hold my purse in front of a picture on a board. Then when I did I was told my purse was to big and I would have to take it back to my car. I'd like to mention that this policy is not being used for all carrying a large purse, tote bag or backpack. The individual theater we were in was clean and the movie was great. But I will not be returning to Marcus Theatres in Pickerington. One less purse for them to check. read more

This is one of the best theaters for seeing movies. Every theater has reclining leather seats so it is just like being at home. The downside negative is the lack of cashiers during a busy time period. I know I can buy them ahead online and get them from a kiosk once I arrive - for an extra charge - but I refuse to give my hard earned money to an establishment where I have to do all the work of getting my ticket to an already over priced movie. The money I saved on pre-purchase handling charges was used for my daughters Icee so they got my money anyway but not as much as then could have. Love the theater but not a fan of the "convenience's". And don't even get me started on the wine prices! Lol! read more

The line was this long when we arrived, 15 minutes before the show. I figured I'd start the movie and run out later. Here I am. Still in line. You can reserve soft recliner seats and watch clear picture and quality sound films. The recliners are clean and spacious. You can lift up the arm rest. The food options allow you to order food, such as pizza and hamburgers, then take your meal/snack/drinks to your seat, but there is no pull out eating tray. There is a full bar but you have to grab a bartender right away if you want drinks in a timely manner. This is a really great theater and have had better than average experiences compared to other movie theaters. Recommend to go online and reserve your seats ahead of time. read more

You know that deep, childlike rush of energy, excitement, and exhilaration that is sometimes found in the most simplistic of things, like jumping on a trampoline, or riding a carnival carousel (or any category of carousel for that matter). Tonight, I was denied that childlike euphoria when Marcus Theaters would not let my good pal Zac and I in for a 10:40 PM showing of Guardians of the Galaxy (I've seen it once, great flick), when we arrived at 10:50 PM to locked doors. As I knocked on the window, waving with such a zeal and apprehension to the savagely emotionless employees mere feet away from us, they mockingly waved back with smug smiles across their faces, and rejected our request for entry by reenacting my prior waving more as we walked away. All I wanted was a feature film and to happily give away some green for it. Marcus Theaters denied my capitalistic right, and therefore I deny Marcus Theaters my four other stars. You should let me people in up to 15 minutes after the last showing. You lose nothing. read more

I'm a big movie person, and I've been to this theater quite a few times. It is one of my favorites in the area to go to. Mainly because it is nicer than what I'll find in Lancaster, but cheaper than going to the AMC at Easton. All of the theaters at this location are well maintained and the lobby is very nice. The staff has always been friendly and overall I've had great movie experiences here. They also have an UltraScreen, which is quite different from what they used to advertise a couple years ago. I haven't had the pleasure of seeing a film yet on their UltraScreen, but I did happen to sneak over after one of my movies was done and take a peek inside. It is quite a bit bigger than any of the other screens they offer there. At first glance you could almost think it was an IMAX theater, but once you take a closer look you'll realize it has its differences. Overall, I really like going to this theater and have never had any bad experiences. I like that they keep the place well maintained and constantly seem to want to upgrade the place. I have gone to this theater for years, spent thousands here over the years. Imagine my surprise yesterday when I was told to hold my purse up to a sign and then told to place my purse back in the car because it was too big. Not to mention me placing a purse in my trunk and walking away from my car is asking for a thief to break in trunk to steal it. There should be huge signs out front, emails should have went out to reward members, and ticket people should have told me before I paid for my tickets. But to stop someone after they have bought their tickets with this rule is crazy, rude and unprofessional. In the meantime they let others in with bookbags and huge "diaper bags." I literally watched them let in three ladies whose purses were made similar or a little longer than mine. I will not be returning and I will be sure to share my experience with everyone I know. read more

I am a fan of Marcus Cinemas in Pickerington! They have a $5 All Day Movie special going on (yet I have not taken advantage of this yet due to work). Even though the prices of the snack bar is through the roof, the price of a movie is cheaper than the AMC at Easton ($10 vs. $12-15). The theaters are a bit smaller too, but that makes the movie more....intimate... Plus, the Marcus Cinemas has the ULTRASCREEN. It is a bit like an IMAX, except not as large and tall (more wide if you ask me). We saw The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Fast and Furious 6. Both films looked great on the ULTRASCREEN. If you are in the Pickerington area and want to catch a reasonably priced movie, go check it out! 4/5 stars read more

Sadly, Marcus is the only theater serving the southeast side of things these days. It is a mighty fine establishment, though. The lobby is very cool looking. It's been given a throwback look which is charming. The theater boasts one UltraScreen which is a fancy way of saying digital projection and sound. I could notice the difference. And for only an extra dollar, it's definitely worth the upgrade. The concessions area has self-serve soda which I love. I'm not sure how useful it is, but I love the freedom! For awhile, the theater was partnering with local restaurants for dinner & a movie specials. Most of those have dried up as of the last time I checked. It was a cool idea. Of course the theater features the now-ubiquitous stadium seats. They're not that comfortable. I'm not sure why they're the new standard. read more

If it was a Friday or Saturday night in High School, you better believe this was THE place to be. I remember when Marcus had just opened and the idea of stadium style seating was thrilling. I have many good memories of hanging out with friends here to see Episode I or The Fellowship of the Ring. Dates with my first High School boyfriend were dates to the movies. The interior has changed over the years, and the new face lift is really stunning. Now the inside resembles an old theater in the late 20's complete with familiar Art Deco lines and colors. There are tall tables and chairs surrounding the concession stand, something I don't see often in theaters. All the employees are dressed in vests and touring caps which really adds to the atmosphere. And price? $7.00 for Students makes me happy! $6.00 for Senior Citizens makes my mom happy! read more

It's not that the Marcus is bad, but it's not particularly good either. Perhaps I'm biased (we got a new RAVE theater in my area recently and it's fantastic) but this theater was a bit "eh" to me. The seats weren't super comfortable. The aisles were a bit small for stadium seating (I'm used to being able to stretch out my legs without touching the seats in front of me - not hard when you are short like me). The armrests don't fold up (I hate armrests!). My husband & I went here a lot several years ago when we lived in town and were dating. Now it's just the occasional movies with the ILs when we are visiting. Would I come back? Of course. But it's nothing fabulous. read more

If you go to Marcus Theater in Pickerington, OH they just started enforcing a new Purse rule TODAY! Large purses (like the one in the pic) are no longer allowed in the theater. You either have to lock your purse in your car or get a refund and not go to the movie. We chose the refund since locking my purse in the car after announcing it to every potential criminal in the building was not an option. We are extremely unhappy with the way this situation was handled. No prewarning, no advanced notice, nothing on their website or Mobile app. I understand and respect the rule. I do NOT appreciate the implementation of said rule! Im sure the staff are having a great night enforcing this one...way to go Marcus Theaters. This poor theater. I feel sorry for it. It's just worn out and tired. I went here with a friend because I have the Passport, which is unlimited movies for $25 a month. I usually go to the north location on 23 for movie night with friends. It's like night and day between the locations. The actual theater wasn't bad, the projection and screen were fine. It's just the overall feel of the place, like it knows it's dying and doesn't know what to do about it. Shame...it's a good location. read more

I have been coming to Marcus cinema since it opened over a decade ago. Since its opening they have made sure to keep it up-to-date year after year. I have seen a total over about 300+ movies here. I have had amazing memories with friends and family at midnight showings and double/triple features. Their $5 tuesdays is an amazing deal and no other theaters have that. They have introduced a new movie rewards program that is sufficient. You get a free 44oz drink on tuesdays which is great but the other rewards don't seem worth the prices you pay to get the $2.00 off. I am not docking any stars for that though, the quality of this place and its staff goes over the need for the reward tiers. My daughter loves coming and seeing movies here and its a great place to bring my wife on date night. A lot of the staff have been there since its opening and that gives it a very family run homey feel. There are a lot of other theaters in the area but I am a Marcus cinema movie goer for life. I love the fact we are right down the street and it's convenient when on date night with the hubby. But the huge turn off is the kids that come in being loud and rude. I used to be a fan of this theatre however the rising prices have reduced it and the new policy of having to log into their website to be able to purchase the ridiculously overpriced food and drink was the final straw. I had to repeat everything to the kid at the counter anyway even though I had already gone through the farce of ordering. A really nice establishment but you have to be somewhat of a local to know when to go and avoid the tons of teenagers who talk and text all movie long. The prices are normal so best go during matinees. At night the place is a great place to hang out for all of the local high school kids. Because of that, big movie releases and the 7pm-10pm showings are usually quite noisy and obnoxious. We've gone to big releases a couple of weeks after they have been out during a matinee or a very late showing and virtually no one was in the audience making it a nice and quiet experience. They have an Ultra Screen with absurd volume in that theatre so even if there are noisy people, unless you are sitting right next to them, you won't hear them. The Ultra Screen is a little more expensive but usually worth it as they put the biggest visual blockbusters out in that theatre. read more

What was once a nice cinema is now shot due to incessant talking during the movies. This is why cinemas are failing and patrons choose to watch movies at home. We went to see The Avengers. The place had a total of four viewers. As the show begins, two obese ladies, each with an armload of snacks plop down right in front of us. They begin to spread the snacks to ajoining chairs as they could not fit it on their laps. The snacks are dropping on the floor and they are loudly yak-yak-yaking. As the demographics of Pickerington has changed, there is a linear correlation to the increase of noisy patrons at this location. Never again. read more

Ok so I come here when I don't want a super large crowd and I love it. The as all the up to date thrills of any newer larger theater so don't let the sizeof this theatre fool you.
