So, for our anniversary, we decided to see Captain America: Civil War. We chose to dine at Tuscanos and end the night at the Cine 18 Five-Star Lounge. The movie was great; The lounge was...meh. *shrug* The atrium is huge with your standard movie posters, concession stands and scattered workers. The five-star ticket kiosk is stationed in the center of the room. We were greeted by a hostess and two workers upon walking towards the lounge. We were seated and looked over the menu for drinks. The food selection is a little more elevated than what's at the concession. The prices are moderate. The theatre was clean and spacious.The recliners are leather and not as plush as the ones at Des Peres. Service was prompt and drinks were ok. The experience overall was cool. Not bad, not exceptional. Just cool. However, being in a 21+ theatre has spoiled me bc I don't have to be surrounded by rowdiness and children. read more

Ok, two stars. One of them likely just for some of the old memories I have of this being THE place to see a movie here in St. Charles. The facility just seems old, dirty and understaffed. We enjoyed the movie but left feeling slightly sad about how far the facility has declined. If going to the movies is gearing towards the movie goer experience, this location has work to do to keep up. There are several other theatres in the area that offer the same amenities and are at least cleaned and staffed. I doubt this remains our go to theatre. read more

A group of friends and I come to St. Charles Cine at least once a month to get in on their $5 Tuesday movie nights. I LOVE this special. Tonight we saw Ocean's 8. When planning to come on $5 Tuesday, ya gotta buy your tickets early. We usually know a month or two in advance when we're coming. However, Marcus (not Wehrenberg anymore) St. Charles won't publish the movies they'll show or the showtimes for $5 Tuesday until the Friday or Saturday before. This always leaves us in a huge rush to get tickets. Fortunately, most of us are rewards members and can purchase tickets online at no extra charge. It still leaves us with a flurry of texts and email messages so we all go to the same movie, at the same time, and sit together. Our show was in the Bistro tonight. I tried their food last time we were in the Bistro and the food is good! However, the prices aren't so good. Guess that's to be expected, but I wasn't going to spend $12 for a BLT. We enjoyed the free popcorn and discounted (for some of us) sodas. One of my friends accidentally dropped her entire tub of popcorn on the floor in front of her seat. It took absolutely no time for someone to come in the theater and sweep it up and my friend was given a replacement tub for free. I love the addition of the Five Star Lounge. Heated leather reclining seats are SO up my alley. I almost don't want to write this review because it doesn't seem like many people are aware it's open yet. Scored 4 tickets to Star Trek a week before it opened with no problem. All the other lounges in the area were already sold out weeks ago. Service was a little slow, I think they're still working out the kinks. I really appreciate the fact that they don't bring the bill until the credits are rolling. I hate getting a bill with an hour left to the movie (I'm looking at you, AMC). Overall they're working on remodeling the entire theater and it badly needed a facelift. Here's to hoping the bathrooms are next on the list because they definitely needed some work. Really disappointed in the 5-star lounge experience. This theater is near our home and we've been coming here for many years. However, tonight was our first time visiting the 5-star lounge. Now, we've visited similar setups at the AMC in West County previously. First, we arrived 30 minutes early so we could order food and start to eat before the show. The menu is disappointing because almost everything is fried. After we placed our order, we waited a short time for our drinks and then my food came out 30+ minutes later my wife still hadn't received her food so I pressed the button asking for assistance. After another wait, our waiter came over and I asked about her food. He disappeared to find out what happened and it was clear to us he had not entered the order. After another 15 - 20 minutes (movie has already started now) her food shows up. No apology or offer to take it off the bill. By that point she wasn't feeling well because it was around 8pm. Aside from the poor service, I felt like the experience was average at best. The seats are ok but not great and the food options are like bar food. I like the concept but my money will likely be spent at AMC instead if I want the dinner and movie experience. read more

EDIT: Writing a review on a phone is not easy. When I left the movie theater that day, with my neck hurting and commercials blaring to a volume that was beyond reason, I was not happy about my movie date night. I'll clean up below so it at least makes sense. :) Specifically, there is one 5 star movie screen room, as they have a couple in this theater, that has a row of seats that are close against the wall. Why this matters is that you can in lean the chair back all the way. Besides being a bummer it also, as 5'7" person, hurts your neck because the angle of the head cushion holds your head in an awkward and eventually painful position. The chair head cushion is made for a fuller extension but is not possible because they wedged the row of chairs too close to the wall. The 5 star theater on the south side of the building( when you walk in, to the left of the food area) is the one you should avoid. It is best to just go to the Chesterfield movie theater if you going to the 5 star to avoid the whole thing. I have mentioned this a couple times to the manager and they said they have been told this before but after the first time we thought they would hear their customers and move the chairs to the appropriate space away from the wall. Nope. As the movie theaters have found themselves a captures audience, now have play commercials on this huge screen with boldly insane levels of volume. We are early about 15 minutes so we talk quietly before the movie starts. But now with the commercials that play before the movies we can't hear each other to speak to each other. The waitress couldn't hear me and I could not hear her. When I mentioned this to the waitress she said that the volume will go down before the movie starts. ... Yes. Process that. That made me a bit angry. It was intentional. There are SO many commercials at the 5 star now. 5 star is like the Hulu of movie theaters. You pay to be a captured audience forced to be drowned in sound by commercials. TLDR: LOUD commercials as a trapped audience (welcome to Hulu for the theater.) The chairs are against a wall, uncomfortable and stiff. Do NOT waste your money, if you have been to a 5 star before you will feel ripped off.Go to the Chesterfield location. read more

Since Marcus has taken over the whole movie experience has suffered. The theaters are now dirty. The seats in Bistro are falling apart. They took out the 21 and older theater which was the worst thing they ever did. Now I get to eat a sixty dollar meal with a 14 dollar ticket with children "teens" while trying to enjoy the food and movie. Only to hear disrespectful chatter. Poor. Bring back 21 and up theaters. Of the Wehrenberg locations, this one so far is my least favorite. The theatre we were in (#17 I think) was a bit dated. But the worst part was during silent sections of our movies, I could clearly here the movie next door. I don't think they shut the movie door either. I felt like I could hear people in the hallway. I'm not sure that I can fault the movie theatre for this, but the patrons here sucked. The people around me were all talking, and one dude even took a phone call. WTF. read more

Ok, first off: Wehrenberg, please fire your interior decorator. It seriously looks like a clown just vomited all over the lobby. Now that's out of the way, movie viewing is limited in St. Charles County. 1. You either go to a Wehrenberg, or 2. You go to another Wehrenberg. The St. Charles location is old, but just got renovated - by a drunk clown. It's all digital and the seats are okay - the ratio of "strange sticky things" on your seat is higher at this location for some reason. The new "5 Star Lounge" is great (if you don't mind taking out a second mortgage). A+ Would use again (because we have no other choice). read more

I personally love this theater. I've read some negative reviews about the cleanliness, but I've never experienced that. I have seen the parking lot pretty messy, but I've need satisfied with the inside. All the seats are lounge seating and are heated. Movies are only $6 before 11am so I usually go to the early shows. I've been to a few of the AMC's in the area and I definitely prefer this place. And in my opinion, the popcorn is way better than AMC read more

I remember the late 1990s when this was the coolest theatre around! They've redone it a few times and I'm pleased to say after my most recent visit that it still looks good. My family and I have been going to this theater for over 10 years and I'm a Magical Movie Rewards member. Today I took my kids to see It Chapter 2, per their request. Ordered tickets online, printed them at the kiosk like always, went inside and no one was sitting at the entryway to check our tickets and rip them in half. We looked around and saw no one, so we walked right through towards concessions. As we discussed our order, I was approached by a man who wore a name badge saying Mr Reverend or The Reverand. His brash tactic when approaching us, made me think he was a manager, although he didn't even bother to introduce himself. He simply came up and asked me if we had gotten our tickets from the counter or the kiosk. I told him kiosk, and my son handed him the tickets, presuming he wanted to tear them in half like they usually do. He is then holding our tickets and asks what we are seeing today, which I found rather odd considering he was holding and looking at our tickets when he asked. I replied "IT" and his response was a sarcastic "oh, nice wholesome movie". How dare you criticize my decision (in front of my kids, no less) to take my them to a movie at the theater you work for. I was already baffled at this point, but it got worse, he then tells me he has to measure my purse. He takes me back to the tiny counter where they usually rip your ticket in half and direct you to the right theater, where nobody had been when we walked in earlier. He has me set my purse (a Kathy Van Zealand normal size purse) on a mat with measurements and it crossed over the edges maybe 1/2" on either side, so he tells me it's too large to take into the theater. I am standing there with my two kids and asked him "so do I need to take it out to my car or what?" This was the first time anything like this has ever happened so I was in shock, plus he was rather rude. His response to me was that he couldn't tell me what to do with my purse, but that I couldnt bring it in. Someone else came up right behind us at that moment, and he immediately just started tending to them, even before I had picked my purse (or jaw) up. He didn't say sorry, but our rules have changed, didn't apologize in the slightest. Was purely 100% rude, and after sarcastically insulting the choice of movie we had chosen to come and see. I've never been treated so rudely at this theater before. It'll be AMC for this family from here on out. Glad I used my $5 rewards money when we went (back) to concessions today. We go to this theater all of the time & we love the plush heated recliner seating. I also love the fact that we can fix our own drinks now due to the recent enhancements. However, I'm only giving 2 stars today because the cleanliness has gone down. The drink area is always a sticky wet mess, the ladies restrooms need a deep cleaning everytime I go in there. Also, yesterday, we went to see the new movie, Breaking In, & I had on a white shirt, when I came out my hubby noticed there was a big brown spot on the back of my shirt! Like chocolate or something! Grrrr I was not happy! Thankfully, we were headed home! Management really needs to have the ushers walk thru between showings & check the seats, & just do a better job overall of cleaning the theater, after all of the money they've spent making it nicer. read more

I've seen a lot of movies here over the years. It's a decent theater. There are a few issues that have come up as the theater ages. Some of the theaters have developed a strange smell. I imagine it's from years of soda spilling. It's nothing you notice past 60 seconds in the theater but it's certainly offputting when you walk in. Also, it seems every time I'm in there at least one of the stalls in the restroom is broken. The employees are always very friendly which is great. The seats are comfortable and they keep the theaters as clean as possible with people constantly spilling popcorn, candy, and soda. They always have a good number of people on staff at the consessions to keep the lines moving. The arcade is decent for kids and teens although there used to be a lot more games. read more

Tyler "on duty manager" refused to let me in with a Dooney & Burke purse with tickets I bought on Fandango. He said it was larger than 12x12x6 and when the flair out at the top was collapsed, it was not. Told me to "put the (over $300) purse in the car" (with no trunk) if I wanted to come in. No warning or policies on Fandango when purchased tickets. Totally unreasonable. Not willing to reimburse me with anything other than Marcus gift card and NO Fandango fee returned. Main area, concession area, bathrooms and theater were all dirty. There is trash and sticky floors everywhere, used napkins in our seats and cup holders. The staff is completely disengaged. The guy taking the tickets was completely glued to his phone and didn't look away while he told us the wrong hallway to go down for our theater number. We had to repeat our concessions order 3 or 4 times- still got it wrong and then didn't give us any drinks until we asked again. So weird. We will pick a different theater next time. read more

Although I've heard this is one of the best theater around st.charles, I was disappointed. First off, you know cinemas are the only place open during Christmas holidays! Busy times and full seats. I really dislike the fact that we had to pick seats! Just another way for them to make money off you if there's not enough available seats. I miss it when there's no assigned seats. Plus there's no one to check your ticket during the day when I went. The snacks are enormously expansive! I wouldn't waste money on any of it. So sad! The seats didn't even have warmers either. Cost us double for it, just to sit next to each other. This place has some of the freshest popcorn I have had and a nice assistant manager that helped me print my tickets which were purchased online, but it goes down from there in a hurry.. There was a special even for Jaws 4oth Anniversary Screening on Sunday 6/21/15, which was Fathers Day. It was advertised of happening in a 5 star lounge with service and this was on the website when the tickets were bought. We get there and have stadium seating in leather seats only. The reason for signing up was for the whole experience as I can sit in leather seats and watch this movie at will ,but being it was Father's day and I am a Father I thought, would that not be neat to have service hence the higher ticket price I thought We are told by one of the young staff that yes it is stadium seating but no service. I have a theatre that is less than a mile from my house if I just wanted to see the movie and I own it as well. I was trying to buy the experience. The restrooms were horrendous with the stench of human waste on the floor and other things. The funny thing about this chain is when you go to their website to comment or call the theatre all you get is a recording. This is a STL chain, but this is not STL standards. Have a website that you can reach a live person. I have written very few negative reviews, but the experience and deception was so bad I wanted to keep it from being experienced by other. My suggestion: 1) Do not buy any tickets online and assume you will get what you paid for 2) Visit the restroom prior to entering the theatre 3) Order their popcorn, it is truly hot and good If they had a way for me to discuss this live with upper management I would. read more

We watched a movie in the Five Star Lounge and this was the original movie theater prior to making all of the recliners loungers. My button didn't work to call the waiter so every time I had to get a refill, I had to ask my companion to press the button. The food was better than typical Theatres food but not up to par and comparison to the other theaters that have move this direction. Also, the selection wasn't great. We decided to go to the AMC on Olive to catch another movie we wanted to watch the same day. I have to tell you that their selection of food was far superior. The one thing I really did enjoy about this theater was the desert I had a lava cake and it was terrific it was warm and gooey just what you want out of a lot of a lava cake. The theater is also rebranded as Marcus Wehrenberg Theaters. Apparently Marcus Theaters bought all of the Wehrenberg Theaters across the country it is still the same theatres, however the name changed. The entire company was bought but they still kept the Wehrenberg name along with Marcus Theater. Honestly, what I would do in this theater is forgo the food option and just go to a movie and sit in a lounger which still includes free refills and drinks Etc and if you're wanting food go to the AMC on Olive. The Five Star Lounge really needs to be updated my button didn't work to call the waiter and my chair didn't heater didn't work my companions his worked however the back only work the bottom didn't. I'm thinking this is because this is the original 5 star and it hasn't been updated a lick. They also Now call the dining option at Bistro which is kind of far-fetched. The other issue I had is the game center you could play to win tickets and get prizes out of a machine. We showed up an hour before our movie and we played several games that gave tickets and we went to go claim them in the machine didn't work. We had to go to customer care and they cashed in the tickets and you couldn't get anything out of the machine you had to get something out of they're very limited on stocked counter. We ended up with chinese finger traps and a pair of 3D glasses which was left over from the Star Wars movie that aired last year. I would recommend this theater as a step up from a traditional theater because of the loungers, however the the food isn't exceptional nor is the condition of the Bistro. My husband and I don't like to complain. Initially, everything was fine, we even got our over priced food and drink and got comfortable in the reclining seats. However, the patrons are horrible. For 45 minutes, we sat through a huge group talking, taking flash pictures, and just being obnoxious. We ended up leaving after 45 minutes. We talked to the manager, who was nice enough, and he gave us free passes, but said he didnt see anything going on when he looked. Will i go back? Only to use my passes. Will i buy food again? Absolutely not. We spent 30 dollars on food and couldnt finish the movie. That was 30 dollars we could have spent on a nice dinner. We certainly wont chance that again. I think i was hoping to continue to watch the movie and have the disruptors removed (AMC usually nips it right away), but obviously we will just have to come back and smuggle our own food in. read more

This theater used to be our go to one when under management by Wehrenberg. Since changing to Marcus, the food selection and quality has reduced (e.g. no more lobster options). The seats have gotten smaller, lower quality, and closer together. Prices are high, and experience/quality/service has lowered. They were searching purses for a while (which I was ok with), but then they instituted a bag limit size (of which my purse was way under the overall area but was slightly too long in one dimension). They wouldn't even allow it after I offered that they could search it. That was the final straw. We left and had a wonderful experience (at a much lower price) at another theater. read more

I've gone here a few times. It's a nice theater. It's just as good as the ones closer to home. The main reason I've come to this one was for the Suite Seats/5-star lounge. It's easier for me to get to then the one in Chesterfield. The seats for the special areas are a nice size and super comfortable. I love that about the place. The other theaters are alright nothing to really write home about to the point where I feel like I should drive an extra 10mins out. That being said, if I'm with my group of friends who live closer to this theater, I would gladly come here. read more
