Huge theater, plenty to do before or after a movie. Recommend stopping at the gas station by the entrance to buy candy at half the price!

I've always had good experiences here but This time I will NEVER COME BACK. Brian Davis employee of this St Charles theater refused my purse do to policy change. He refused the lady's bag after me who had an epi pin for her child in it. I got rid of my purse and came back in and he said I need to open up my blanket because it's a package. Which is a lie and no where in the policy does it say anything about blankets. He was rude and getting loud. My daughter standing next to me is the only reason I stayed. He argued with me and said they are doing this every where. I told him they aren't doing it at six flags or concerts and he just insisted on arguing and telling me that they do and I'm incorrect. What do they think they are preventing. People will walk in with food, alcohol, guns, and bombs under their clothes. I talked to other staff and they were shocked at the way he was acting. So sad. I will never come to this theater again. read more

I've been coming here for 20 years, before it was the 18 Cine. They have made many improvements and are working on a 5 star lounge now. The stadium seats are very comfy and offer great views with no obstruction. I always have a good experience watching movies and enjoy playing in the game area with the family. Snacks and drinks are good as any other theater I e been to. Staff is always friendly and the theater is usually clean. I have noticed they need more movie times for family/children movies. All the pg13 + have numerous times and family only have 4-5 all day. read more

Discriminates against the homeless. I am homeless and I have to carry a backpack everywhere I go. I was told by the manager I could not bring in my bag although I offered to throw out the food (one white castle and a sealed macaroni cup) and that they would not hold my bag while I go in. The result is that I am not allowed to see movies here. I believe the manager intentionally discriminated against me because I am homeless. I would rate the St. Charles Marcus Theaters 0 stars if possible. The new Marcus Theater bag policy is absolutely ridiculous. They are claiming the bag policy is for "safety" which is completely asinine. I can conceal and carry a gun on my person or my husband can have one in his pocket but they will not allow me to bring my purse into the theater if it's larger then 12 x 12 x 6 and won't fit on the 2 dimensional picture they force you to set your purse on. I was there last week and my crossbody met the size requirement. Last night the employee was completely unreasonable and wouldn't allow the same crossbody purse in the theater because it was literally a tiny bit past the line on the 2 dimensional picture after the employee maneuvered my purse around to his liking (for reference my crossbody purse is 12.6 x 9.8 x 3.1). After arguing the conceal and carry with the manager he stated that if I had a conceal and carry permit I was within my right to bring a gun into the theater. Guess what Marcus Theaters and St. Charles 18 manager, you no longer need a conceal and carry permit in the state of Missouri so forcing me to take my purse to the car (which is an open invitation to thieves) is not really keeping anyone "safe". Be honest and say why the policy is really in place, to force people to purchase concessions at your theater instead of sneaking them in. I understand that concessions are a big part of the theaters revenue, I respect that and have certainly purchased my fair share of concessions over the years, nearly every visit. Feel free to have me walk through a metal detector and/or wand search my purse but don't act like you are concerned for the patrons safety when clearly that's not the case. We will not be patronizing the St. Charles 18 Marcus Theater any longer. Extremely disappointed in this policy and handbag discrimination. read more

Very nice refurbished theater. The place is large and all of the screen are large. I have never had a bad experience at this theatre.

Really nice theater. Not being from the area, I had never been to a Wehrenberg. The seats are super comfortable, almost like recliners. Also, now at several Wehrenberg's (not this one), offer servers and full meals at your seat. Definitely a luxe way to take in a flick. read more

Ordered food, never got it. Not the first time. Place is a mess. Was taking my buddy from Big Brothers, who goes to movies for the food as much as the movie. Kinda ruined it. The staff seemed to have no clue what was going on, but that's not their fault it's on management and ownership to train them. It's a shame. read more

Great and spacious front atrium with all the feature films at that time. Each theatre has all the "bells and whistles" one needs to enjoy the film at its best. Multiple snack bars and plenty of treats for everyone in your family. read more

Paid $75 to reserve 7 seats. That included an $11 fee for making reservations on line, as Mr Marcus suggested in his promo ad. But no mention of the "convenience" fee.. Had one senior, one general admission and 5 children. Few in the theater so it wasn't necessary to reserve. Bought 3 regular popcorns and two small sodas...over $35. Costly but I was ok with that. Then the manager, Brian Davis, said he needed to search my purse. I was fine with that due to security issues. He told me I had to take my purse to my car. I had a bottle of water and two very small bags of special crackers. No food allowed. I explained that one of the kids had big time food allergies and couldn't eat what they sold. He asked what allergies. He said this was a business and if I didn't follow the rules I'd have to leave. I would have left but the kids were looking forward to the movie. He said a pizza restaurant wouldn't let me bring in food. I said I do it all of the time for the one kid while the rest eat pizza. Some exceptions to rules are necessary. The one kid had no treats during the movie. Not the end of the world but unnecessary. read more

Used to love this theater but after my last visit I may not be back. The service was non existent, the popcorn was overpriced and absolutely awful. Place was dirty and from what I can see...they made it so patrons have to wait on themselves more thereby enabling their employees to do less. Went downhill after it was bought out. read more

Five star searing is great but the server staff is under staffed and you are lucky to get service. We have been going to this theater for many years and in the past, we have really enjoyed the five star theater now it has been expanded and service has really suffered. I left a comment card with the customer service and as I was walking out watch them put it in the waste can. That is not right. Too bad. read more

As an avid movie goer this theater has gone way downhill! Since Marcus has joined the party, this place is awful! Marcus needs to go back where he came from! Tonight was my 4th visit since the change and each time gets worse. I got online and bought the bistro 5-Star tickets, thinking maybe this time wouldn't be so bad. While online there was 2 options for tickets to the same movie, same time, same theater. BSNE for $12.50 or BGNE for $16.00, with no explanation of what each meant. So I opted for the $16 one thinking maybe it involved a drink or something. When I arrived at the theater I asked numerous employees what it meant and NONE of them had a clue, even the bistro people! I definitely didn't get anything extra for spending $4 more a ticket and nobody could tell me why! We ordered popcorn and drinks and had to press the call button twice to remind the guy we ordered popcorn. When it finally came it was nothing but a tub full of kernels and popcorn crumbs. So we pushed our service button again and waited at least 10 minutes to be waited on. When the new popcorn came it was burnt and tasted awful! Let's talk about the cleanliness... absolutely disgusting! From the floors to the theaters to the bathroom! Each stall in the bathroom looked like I could catch some pretty nasty bacterial infections even if I hovered. I'm sad to see this place become this bad. I had so many wonderful memories here and now it's only a matter of time before it gets shut down! read more

I come to this theater all the time because it is the closest to me. Each time it keeps getting worse. The locks in the bathrooms don't work. there are never any paper towels. The tables in the theatre are broken. It is not the place it used to be at all. read more

So I looked at my movie app and saw that Pitch Perfecft was playing at 8:45pm on 10/14 in St. Charles Stadium 18. So my friend and I went to go see it and we go there and they don't have that time???? I was like it says right here on the app. If I could upload a picture I would. I came to see a pg13 movie as I requested 4 tickets I was denied and told that I'd have to be 21 years of age to see it because they sell alcohol. Number 1 there is a bar when you walk in, this theater sells alcohol throughout the whole theater so why can't I see that movie but I can see a different pg13 movie. Number 2 if you're not going to let children go into that theater to see a pg13 movie why play it in a 21+ theater? And now I'm sitting so close to the screen that my neck hurts after the guy working at the ticket stand assured me that I wouldn't have any problems sitting front row, not to mention how dirty the seats are. Will absolutely never be coming back to this theater which is a shame because I've been coming here for a very long time now. Thank you Marcus theater for such a "great" experience. read more

I come to this theater a lot, mainly because of the seating. They have heated seats that recline which makes for a very comfortable movie! They are a little pricey on the popcorn and other snacks, so I didn't give them five stars. But most theaters jack up the prices on those anyway read more

I'm a nice person and rarely complain about anything, but the new five star lounge is HORRIBLE. The seats are wonderful but the service and food were terrible. After hitting our call button it took 15 minutes for someone to even come and take our order. I did over hear the waiters say something about the person assigned to our row was "taking a beating" so they jumped in to help... we ordered....movie starts and no food. They did manage to bring our popcorn and sodas during the beginning of the movie. Hubby and I ordered at the same time. At some point he asked about when our food was coming..the young lady explained that they had 2 theaters they had to do orders for and said "don't worry...its a long movie" .. They brought his pizza out which tasted so bad he actually sent it back..maybe the 2nd time he's ever sent food back in his life! It just tasted like bland frozen pizza.....and it was cold...you'd think after waiting that long it'd at least be hot. .Then 10 minutes later out comes my food..which was cold as well....this was at least 30-40 minutes in to the movie. We also ordered another appetizer which was okay at best. With the service, bad food, plastic plates and paper cups...this place didn't feel very "five star". Even the set up is bad..who wants to see a movie with waiters constantly walking in front of you. AMC has a much better layout and a more personal experience. The one thing I can say is they took the items we weren't satisfied with off our bill without the hassle. But I'm sure they had a lot of complaints tonight. I know its new plus a busy Friday night...maybe they just need to work some of the kinks out. But I probably won't be back. If I'm doing a dine in movie I'll stick with AMC West Olive 16. ...I'm curious to see what others have to say... read more

I LOVE this place!! This is the only movie theatre I will go to. I have gone there more times than I can count, and I have never had a problem. All of the chairs are lounge chairs and heated, and they have five star lounges (thank goodness). The employees are super nice. The bartenders are all really cool and nice. I will say their drinks are way overpriced, but it's a movie theatre--everything is overpriced. They also have $5 any movie on Tuesdays! I only went once because it was very crowded and a mad house, will not go to that again. I also love that all seats are reserved seating. I recommend this theatre to everyone. read more

Wife and I went to Five Star seating for dinner and movie. Service was slow, food not bad. Have not sat in a torn leather recliner and watched movies since college. Expect better for a $72 dinner/movie experience. Run down. read more

Went to the five star lounge. The service was good. Seats are comfortable and most of the food was good. My girlfriend got the pork tenderloin and it was bad. Dry, bland, and missing all the condiments that where suppose to come with it. So I don't recommend pork tenderloin. read more

Tried to take the family to see the Avengers for Mother's Day. Got there at 5 to see the 5:20pm show. Waited in line for 12 minutes, only one ticket window open and only one family ahead of us, obviously there was an issue with their tickets. We get to the window, charged the $40 for 3 seats (assigned stadium seating). The girl at the ticket window then explains that our tickets will not print. We stand there for a bit as the movie start time inches closer. They then write our seat numbers on a random piece of paper. We get to our seats just in time for the trailers to start. I get up to use the restroom, to come back and find another family was trying to take our seats. The other father and I walk with an usher back to the counter, the young man at the counter checks the other man's tickets as I'm explaining what happened. Which he apparently already knew, as he hands me a receipt showing that my card had already been refunded, explains that they sold our seats from under us, then offers to re-seat us. I find this unacceptable as we had purchased our tickets first, had already purchased food, and the movie had already begun, now I'm expected to take less desirable seats? I expressed my discontent with their crappy customer service. The theater did refund our our refreshments and a manager tried again to re-seat us, I had no interest in missing the first part of the film,and I have no interest in ever spending money at this location ever again. - We did make it in time to catch a showing at mid-rivers, so our Mother's Day event wasn't a total loss. But no thanks whatsoever to the staff at the Wehrenberg St. Charles 18 Cinema. - Customer lost. --- Wehrenberg Response:Mr. Baird, Please accept our apologies for the ticket issue at our St. Charles 18 last night. Computers do sometimes encounter problems and since there were storms entering the area at that time, a momentary power surge may have messed with the ticketing program. The computer had no way of knowing that the tickets you purchased were not available since the order did not process correctly. We would never sell tickets from under a guest knowingly. I'm sure you know that. It would appear that our theatre management did everything they could to make it up to you. They refunded your ticket purchase, refunded your concession purchases, and then tried to seat you in the auditorium to see the movie free of charge. I don't know what else they could have done to make it up to you. We are happy that you got to see the movie at our Mid Rivers 14. We just wish you had allowed us to make you our guest without charge. I can assure you there are better ways to treat disgruntled customers than making me and my family leave the seats I paid for and giving them to someone else. Had they offered tickets to another movie showing instead a free movie I had already missed the beginning of I would have been more receptive. Refunding the movie and concession was the bare minimum any one could do. If you can't see what more could be done then your customer service practice is a bit short sighted. ---- Wehrenberg: Mr. Baird, The manager stated that he told you there was another Suite Seat presentation of the same movie available, less than an hour after your movie had started. He wanted to seat you in that one where you wouldn't have missed anything. He had the receipt from your refund in his hand because he already knew what happened, knew it was our fault and he was trying to make it up to you. Once again, we are very, very sorry for the mixup. Linda ------ My response: Actually he did not state that, it was never offered as an alternative. I wasn't aware that the next showing was in less than an hour. Nonetheless, we paid for our seats first, we were already seated. The 2nd customer purchased those seats AFTER us. Why was the other customer not re-seated? ----- Wehrenberg: Probably because the other customer had the printed tickets but maybe because they thought you would be more understanding of a computer issue. I don't know. ----- My final response: Wow. Ok. At no point in this dialogue have you made one effort to win me back as a customer. I have no interest in having any more conversation with you about this. If your company is concerned with providing quality customer service at all forward this email chain to someone higher ranking than yourself. read more

So the 5 Star - we showed up to watch the Conjuring 2 last Saturday night the 11th of June about 15 minutes before the last showing. We were not taken to our seats as advertised and waited for quite some time before finally hitting the button used to alert the servers. We actually waited longer and after another 15 minutes passed and previews were starting one of the two of us had to go walk around looking for a manager, server, etc. and once we located a person she said I was just on the way over there. So finally as the previews were ending we were able to order the food. Received the food in the middle of the movie and it was actually not bad. The theatre was nice - I am confused as to the difference between 5 Star and the Suite seats. Didn't seem to be any different, no higher level of service - would recommend you retrain the servers and whoever is supposed to be watching the shop - not to mention absolutely no security. read more
