This store is heaven-sent! I was at the resort for a black-tie wedding, and wore gorgeous but highly impractical high heels. I had the foresight to bring flats with me, however, my cousin who just had a mastectomy was suffering in heels, so I lent her my flats. I thought I'd be able to last, but nope! I remember seeing Marea on the way in, so after the ceremony I hobbled back out to do some shoe-shopping. This place has quite the selection and is wonderfully staffed. I ended up with a pair of Melissa jellies (which smell oh-so-GOOD!), and was even extended a wedding party discount...BONUS! I was able to dance the night away thanks to Marea! read more

I just walked out of this boutique without making the $500 purchase for 2 dresses I wanted because their two sales people were too busy giggling and chatting about their personal lives with each other than doing their job. I walked around the small boutique for approximately 15 minutes and not once did either of them greet any of their customers or ask if anyone needed assistance. I purposely walked up to the counter where they were standing to see if they would acknowledge me and they still both ignored me, even inches away from their faces. Rude, unprofessional and lazy. Having been a boutique owner, I would fire them both. Very poor representation of the Terranea Resort Property. read more

Despite the fact that Marea is expensive, I gotta go with 4 stars because I saw such beautiful stuff in there. They carry men's, women's, and children's clothing & shoes. Also some jewelry, hats, bags, and other goodies that one might need while visiting the resort. I noticed a lot of Diane von Furstenberg ladies apparel, as well as killer DvF shoes. I stroked a magnificent cashmere wrap priced at only.....around $1200. I won't be buying that anytime soon..... Not everything was THAT pricey. Sweaters...maybe $200. Dresses....saw some (gorgeous) for $500 and less. But...behold... there was a sale rack. Still, I resisted. Marea has lovely cocktail dresses. Also beachwear & casual wear. Everything you'd need if you arrived at Terranea without your luggage, but with your credit cards. I was warmly greeted upon entering the store, and not bothered while I browsed. Elegant, classy, comfortable.....just like Terranea in general. Rodeo Drive has no ocean view, just sayin'. hehe read more

Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this store!!! I die and go to heaven EVERYTIME I step one foot in!! Talk about great style! Whether it be Tory Burch or Vince Camuto, it's every woman's dream in here. My mom and I have shopped in this store since their opening and make it a point to stop in whenever we lunch at our fave restaurants here. We are locals, but somehow, can't get enough of the resort life here and their offerings! This last time I was in, I had the BEST TIME working with the nicest, most accommodating staff, ready to help me decide on my must haves. When you come here you know you get what you pay for, because they carry ONLY the very best. Grabbed a great pair of heels and a beautiful sweater this time around and mom grabbed a few gems herself. I dropped a pretty penny, but darn it, it was worth it! I know it's better to buy quality footwear and clothing that I can enjoy for years to come! Marea is an high-end boutique well worth visiting. The selection of items is amazing: from shoes, to light luxurious sweaters and summer dresses, a ton of accessories: hats, scarves, jewelry (ranging anywhere from $20 to....a lot more!). The jewelry is definitely the reason why I stop in there every time, they carry amazing local jewelry deisgners such as That's for the women section. There is a men and kids section as well. If Nordstrom and Tommy Bahama had a bastard child who had Nordstrom's quality and Tommy's laid back atmosphere and gentle pastels - marea would be its name. Prices are fairly exorbitant BUT their merchandise is really nice. I saw everything from Vince and Theory to unknown but quality boutique names being offered. The staff is super friendly and the selection is actually quite decent given their small size. You wouldn't come out here specifically to shop, but if you are staying at the resort and want to get a little something for the significant other this is a great place to start. It's also nice if you forgot something essential. Overall a cute boutique offering well known brands at high prices and catering the kind of crowd that doesn't check the price tag. This place is so cute. It's like a mini saks, they carry all the cute brands you might need while staying at Terranea and beyond. Their kids section is GREAT, they have tons of cute stuff and always seem to have all the sizes in stock. I don't stress about packing when I stay at terranea because if I forget something I have an excuse to stop by Marea. Swim suits, hats, cover ups, dinner outfits, all here. This shop is located within the Terranea resort. I was super impressed by the selection and the designers. I got the feeling that it is owned and operated by a larger store (maybe Elyse Walker?). Anyways, pretty clothing for women and a good selection for men. It made me think it is the perfect shop for someone who came to the resort thinking it was going to blazing hot California only to realize that it gets super cool on the beach. I had a very bad experience shopping here. Yesterday I went in to buy a few items including an item for my husband and asked about the return policy. The sales person told me within 15 days. Since I was staying at the Terranea, I happily bought a few items including a shirt to have my husband try on in the hotel room thinking that I could return it if it didn't fit. Well my husband didn't fit into the shirt so I brought it back the next day. They now tell me that it's store credit only. I explained to the assistant manager that the sales representative told me I could return the items within 15 days and even though the sales representative was standing next to her and confirmed what I was told, she still said they wouldn't take it back and lied to me that they never accept refunds and that her job was on the line. This is the first time that a shop has left a bitter taste in my mouth because of a lying assistant manager who wouldn't make an exception even though her employee was the one who told me the refund policy was within 15 days. The assistant manager needs to 1) train her employees better and 2) realize that if her employee makes a mistake, the customer should be accommodated. read more
