When it arrived, it was mostly burrito and not much inside; contents were completely bland, and I couldn't tell that it was even pork. Oh. Right. Because it wasn't carnitas - they'd brought us both the shrimp. Eventually got the carnitas, which tasted identical to the shrimp. Have been here multiple times and always received terrible service from the waitstaff. We came in at 930 because it was my sisters birthday and she worked till 9. They wouldn't seat us in the dinning area because it closed at 10 and didn't want to be bothered. Then we sit in the bar section at a 4 top with 6 people and our waitress here had a terrible attitude with us and passed dripping margaritas over my lap. While my hopes for genuine Mexican fare were not high for Margaritas, I at least expected it to appeal to my Tex-Mex palate. HOWEVER, I think that Margaritas is not run by someone who knows anything about Mexican cuisine (or should I say ITALIAN cuisine). This was a fairly decent dining experience for my wife and me. When we entered, the music was incredibly loud but thankfully, we were led to a quiet corner of the restaurant which was perfect for us. My wife ordered the fajitas and they were decent but not spectacular. They had a unique fruity flavor that neither of us were really a fan of. I ordered the vegetarian burrito and it was very good. I really liked the presentation, ingredients, and flavors. Our server was very polite and fairly attentive. We did not get a refill of our beverages during the meal but we are quick diners and it was fairly busy so that wasn't too big of a deal. As far as the waitress staff, it was good service, took a little longer than expected to get our food but it was a Friday so no one is in a rush. I've been going to Margs my whole life. I have also never been treated so poorly by MANAGEMENT in my entire life. There was this woman covered in tattoos, always at the bar always annoying my friends, asking weird questions, making me feel kinda comfortable at times as well as them and on top of it all, she is the rudest human I may have ever met. She also cut me off after I was told I had 5 min to finish my literally just handed to me beer. It was my second beer... I had also bought two rounds of shots and beers for my buddies, I basically handed Margs my money and management kicked me out the door... I have worked in customer service for about 5 years and she is the saddest excuse for a manager I've ever seen. Maybe no one else applied for that position? I thought she was drunk, and have literally thought she was the local drunk that just gets tipsy and talks to my buddies, idk if she is trying to hit on the younger guys there but no matter what her angle is... she should at absolute least not ever be in a management position as she cannot even manage herself. Came here for dinner tonight. Very much of the Mexican chain restaurant style, with booths, and wipe-clean tables. Service is brisk and friendly. Our server, Mike, was very helpful. At one point he anticipated our need for some chilli sauce, and offered to get some for us, which I thought was impressive. We started with some tortilla chips and salsa, and the salsa was gratifyingly spicy, as it should be. Then I had the black bean enchiladas, which came with mexican rice, salad and sour cream. Mike was happy to replace the pineapple salsa with a tomato one. This meal was a solid 3 of of 5, which was fine when enlivened with the habanero sauce. The other half had the chicken burrito which he enjoyed. I had a flight to catch, so I was grateful for the lack of messing around and time-wasting in the restaurant. We like to come here often. The food is pretty good as well as the drinks. .... however every time we go we wait standing for an hour. They do give us chips to munch on and we can order drinks. ...but stsnding for an hour is a bit much. They also run out of the beer holders to attach to the glass for the corona-ritas and i don't like that they put the dirty beer bottles in my cup. ....other than that we like it. sad to see the naked fish go, but was excited to check out this place. i'm fairly new to new england, so i didn't realize it was a ne chain until we went last night. we went for an early dinner around 5p, and was surprised to see that it was pretty busy, especially the bar area. it is a good place for kids and families. they have balloons, crayons, etc, that kept our son occupied for a little while. our waitress was very nice and got our drink and food orders right away. the guacomole can out really quick and was quite good (7/10). a few minutes later, we got our sides and tortillas for the fajitas, so we were expecting our food to follow shortly. unfortunately, the actual fajitas took almost 30 minutes after our sides came out. they were sizzling on the plate, but our tortillas were already cold by then. the manager stopped by on his own and apologized, which we appreciated, and offered to comp us a free dessert. it was a nice gesture. overall, the food was so-so. probably would've given the place 2 stars, but bumped it to 3 for the good service and kid-friendly atmosphere. they've only been open for a little while, so we'll let then get settled and try it again in the future. read more

Boyfriend: How's your chicken? Me: It's really good! My boyfriend always ask me how the chicken is at every restaurant (yes, I always order a chicken plate!), my typical answer is usually "okay." This is what he uses to judge whether or not I like the restaurant. But I really like the chicken here! In fact i like everything about this place. Once we were seated our waitress gave us a plate of chips and salsa, which was yum! Perfect thin chips, not too salty! My boyfriend ordered the taco plate which came out to be two huge tacos. He couldn't even finish it. I ordered the tequila cilantro chicken with a side salad and Mexican rice. I hate cilantro, but if you serve it like Margaritas, I would eat it. It didn't even taste like cilantro! The chicken was perfect, big juicy and tender! (this sounds wrong lol) I was expecting it to be dry but they proved me wrong. The waitress was super nice and made sure we got everything. I looked around at the other waiters/waitresses and noticed that they were all having fun and really happy. Apparently when we went, the restaurant had the theme. The waiters/waitresses were aliens and the manager had on a black suit, so I assume men in black! Super cute!! This is the best Mexican restaurant in the area we have found that serves margaritas. El Huipil is better for food, but they only have beer. Their dessert and drinks are great. The Mexican food is very average, but it is better than Acapulcos and Blue Agave. read more

Okay, it's a very US version of Mexican food...so it's a little heavy on the cheese and the margaritas are a little too sweet...but it's still better than most local Mexican options. We went for lunch. We were meeting people and were a bit early. They open at 11:30am. The food is pretty standard. I enjoyed a local Harpoon IPA. They have decent lunch specials. I ordered the house salad to share with someone who ordered the lunch chicken fajitas which came with cheese, rice, lettuce, tomatoe, sour cream and guacamole. Combined these made for a pretty good lunch. Nothing spectacular but all was cooked appropriately and presented well. Service was good. We were a table of 4 chatting quite a bit and our waitress wasn't at all intrusive and was quite pleasant. Food was good, only reason I would give it any stars. Service was terrible. Hostess would not make eye contact with patrons, a party arrived while we were there and she brought them to a dirty table (that the patrons cleaned with napkins) and she threw down the menus before walking away. When we arrived, no utensils, napkins or water was provided. Ordered lemonade, ice melted in 5 minutes and lemonade was room temperature. It took over an hour for our food in a half full restaurant. When the food came, still no utensils (had to get up and take from another table). All the wait staff was frantically running around with no organization or attention to patrons. You have to keep in mind that this is a chain Mexican restaurant. There are some that are worse and there are some that are better. I think this place blows Acapulcos out of the water...but actually prefer Playa Azteca over Margaritas (this is only taking into consideration the chain mexican restaurants). When I go into any chain I try to keep it simple and it leaves less room for disappointment. I actually enjoy coming to this location and usually sit at the bar. There's a normally a decent after-work crowd so keep that in mind during the week. Start off with a Classic Margarita and an order of guacamole and you won't be disappointed. The Guac is fresh tasting and delicious and who doesn't love a Margarita!? For a meal I've mainly stuck with the tacos - I've tried a few different ones and they've been all been pretty good. Boyfriend got a grey-looking, flavorless steak with the worst Spanish rice ever. If you have a hankering for Mexican, try Acapulco's or The Aztec, both in Framingham. I used to go to the one in Weymouth before it closed down so now I'm at the Framingham one. Someone booked a birthday party so the wait for a table of six was 20 minutes on a Friday night. My party and I got seated at a big round table at the corner. I ordered Hector's Quesadilla and as an appetizer and the Nachos el Deluxo (at the suggestion of the waitress because it was cheesier than Cowabuga nachos). I kinda regret not getting the Cowabuga because the nachos didn't seem very deluxe to me, but it was tasty and boy was it cheesy. Not the best nachos I had, if I would go again I would go for the Cowabuga or just stick with the free chips and salsa (which has a kick of spice). The Quesadilla, on the other hand, was delicious. I got the Mexican Flag. You can order with both kinds of beans and one of each protein. I think pork was the best out of the proteins and I definitely enjoyed the black beans more than the refried. Portions here are huge so pack the rest or share a dish. It wasn't the best Mexican food I've had, and I kinda regret not going to Chipotle. read more

Torn between 2 and 3 stars. If you're hoping for that the Naked Fish would be replaced with a similarly upscale and distinctive restaurant...well...you should hope for something else. This restaurant is in the mold of other chain Mexican restaurants. So if you've been to El Torito, Acapulco's, Chi-Chis, then you know what that means. Actually I marginally prefer Acapulco's to Margaritas, though I've only had the one experience at the latter. The parking lot was full, as was one whole row of the adjacent Home Depot parking lot. On a Monday night, that's impressive. We ate in the lounge. The ambiance was actually pretty nice, with one exception: they had ultimate cage fighting on the TV. I know you need to lower the bar of expectations (no pun intended) when you eat in the lounge, but cage fighting does not exactly help you enjoy your meal. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the colorful decor and clean surroundings, as long as I averted my eyes from the TV. I ordered a combination platter to sample enchiladas and burritos. They kinda blended together. As a matter of fact, sometimes I couldn't tell when I was eating cheese and when I was eating chicken. I'm sure I ate more than my daily allocation of sat-fat and salt. It all tasted pretty good, but I was disappointed that everything seemed to merge together into one big tasty but uniform flavor. A fellow diner left some food after feeling that one of her enchiladas was a solid block of cheese. The service was attentive and friendly. Kudos to the waitstaff. It's not a bad place, but if I ever go back, I will: a) Not order a combination platter. This place is always packed, so I naturally assumed the food would be amazing-- turns out, not so much. We went at 4:30 on a Saturday hoping to beat the crowd. There was plenty of seating available, and our server was attentive, but food still took a long time to get to us from the kitchen. Our server mentioned in passing that it was "crazy" in the kitchen- if it's that bad when the place is half empty, I can only imagine how it is when it's busy! Our appetizer (quesocita) was super yummy, which made me excited about the sampler plate I ordered (a taco, a burrito, and an enchilada). Unfortunately the burrito was bland, the taco didn't taste any different than one I'd make at home out of a kit, and the cheese enchilada was just a gooey tube of melted cheese- I didn't take more than a couple of bites. My husband got a different sampler (chicken enchilada, chicken burrito, and chicken mini chimichangas) and he was just as unimpressed as I was. We didn't get any drinks so... maybe that's what I'm missing here? My kids enjoyed the quesadillas and the Wikki Stix they were given to play with really did hold their attention, so that was nice. Got seated by some dude who didn't even know what he was doing, like it was a major chore to seat us.
