I can't get enough of this place!! The tables and booths are brightly colored and there are so many items to look at on the walls! Each of the menu items I have tried have been so delicious and scratch the itch for Mexican food every time! Just... not great. The margarita and chips and salsa were fine and the service was adequate, but the food? No bueno. I ordered a Chile Relleno and Seafood Enchilada ala carte and was disappointed with both. That is the worst Chile Relleno I have ever had - undercooked and barely any cheese.. after two bites I determined it inedible. The Seafood Enchilada was ok but had red sauce. Who does that? It really doesn't work, but at least it was stuffed with a good amount of shrimp and crab. My friends ordered the Birria Tacos and Fajita Taco Salad and both were like, "Eh, it was alright" when I asked their thoughts. This is hidden gem! The food is very authentic Mexican food! The waiter David, was friendly and was very attentive!! He immediately brought out menus and handed us chips and salsa! I loved this place. While I did not have any margaritas I was very impressed with the food. I got the Pollo Fundido and was impressed. The chorizo was fantastic great flavor while not heavy on the cinnamon. The chicken was very well seasoned and crispy yet juicy. The Al pastor was also amazing. I read some of the reviews after already eating here and I don't think some people know what authentic Mexican is and maybe need to stick to taco bell. This is the real deal. It was an extremely busy Wednesday night with happy hour going strong. Even though it was very noisy and crowded, our waiter and the kitchen staff kept up. Our group of six included a 2 year old, and even he was happy. We all ordered margaritas of various kinds and everyone was pleased with their drinks. First time coming here. They were having a cinco de mayo special of $10 margaritas and $5 tequila shots so the place was pretty busy however the waiter was very attentive and responsive. We never waited more than 5 minutes for something besides the actual food. I ordered the piña rellena with a strawberry margarita and my husband ordered the burrito supreme. Food was out within 15 minutes. The piña rellena came with steak, chicken, and shrimp. It was the best I have ever had. The picture does not do it justice , very juicy! It had been four months since my friend and I had hung out last. She had transferred to a different warehouse to spread her wings. In the mean time we kept tabs on each other and the goings on in our lives but nothing really beats a good 'ol dinner time meal and dessert to catch up face to face. I had a hard time deciding but I settled on two shrimp tacos, rice and beans with a side of guacamole. Our waitress was really nice, she refilled my friend's soda but refilled my water while we had dessert. When I first sat down my foot slipped on the floor and I realized it was because the previous occupants to our table had dropped salsa on the ground and it was left there. The food came in a decent amount of time but were weren't too impressed. The guacamole was a little bland for me but I didn't let it go to waste. My shrimp tacos were good the shrimp were cooked perfectly. I didn't really touch my rice and beans all the talking must have taken my appetite. But we definitely had room for dessert! We both got dessert and shared. I ordered the fried ice cream and she ordered the churros. BOTH were amazing! We would definitely go back just for dessert! The churros were warm and with the perfect amount of cinnamon sugar and the fried ice cream was decadent and delightful. Our server was pretty attentive throughout the whole night other than forgetting my water. She made great recommendations and took care of us. I've since ate at both and would prefer Aztec when I'm in the area again. Prices were good and they had a nice selection of Mexican food. We ordered large margaritas to start which had a good taste but were on the weak side. The typical complimentary chips and salsa followed. The kids meals were prepackaged type items with moderate pricing. I ordered one ceviche tostada but the waiter brought the order of three. I tend to not eat a lot and since I order off the 'ala carte' menu often, I usually point or make sure I clearly state the single item so this doesn't occur (first time it has). This was my first visit to Margarita's, off of 72nd Street near Ralston. It was convenient to head across the street from Menards in search of a dinner spot close by. Service was very fast, from the chips and salsa to drink orders. Carne Asada was the selection. It came out extremely fast but it lacked a distinct grilled flavor that other Mexican restaurants would prepare differently. The rice also lacked a specific flavor, tasted pretty bland. If you combined the bland rice with the beans and made sure the jalapeño peppers were mixed in well, the overall taste improved the dish immensely. Service was very good overall. This is the absolutely worse " Mexican" restaurant I have ever eaten at. I ordered a lunch special of a taco and burrito. Both were filled with a ground beef in a sweet spaghetti red sauce. The sweetness reminded me of an overly sweet bottled ragu knock-off from the dollar store. The burrito was a dry flour tortilla stuffed with this red spaghetti meat sauce and did nit have any lettuce, sour cream, or anything else to disguise the wretched bagged food service beef in spaghetti sauce. The taco was filled with the same sickly sweet spaghetti and meat sauce, no lettuce or other typical taco toppings. The beans were somewhat edible. The taco shell was a worse version of a year old Ortego taco shell from the back of your pantry. I highly recommend you do not eat here. The food is beyond bad! read more

Margarita's is a typical Americanized Mexican restaurant. In other words, it is not traditional Mexican - you can order tacos, burritos, nachos, chimichangas, fajitas. etc.. I believe they did have one mole dish on the menu. It also has the typical tacky Mexican decorations you might find at any chain Mexican place, although I don't think this is a chain. They serve chips and salsa when you are seated. The chips were warm - I don' t think they were made freshly, but they did warm them before bringing them to the table. That is at least a plus. Their salsa was for gringos - it was flat, watery, short on taste and spice. For dinner I ordered Carne Asada (picture posted). The meat was tender and flavorful and the onions were cooked well and complimented the meat. The rice was dry and flavorless. The beans were moist and flavorless. But, what wanted was the steak so it wasn't too great a loss. They do get points for the steak, but the rest was just okay. Sorry. read more

Margarita's is my new favorite Mexican sit-down restaurant in Omaha. Highlight #1: Service. They've been friendly an attentive. Everyone seems comfortable speaking English and Spanish. Highlight #2: Menu variety. In addition to all the usual burritos, enchiladas, etc, they have some unusual dishes such as a stuffed pineapple. Lowlight: With a gym next door, and very narrow parking spaces, and some iffy foot traffic, parking is less than fun. read more
