If I had more time and was more motivated, I could probably file a lawsuit against Dr. Falzon. She is by FAR the worst doctor I have ever been to. Here is a laundry list of the terrible experiences I had with her over about a year and a half before I finally had the sense to get the hell out of there! 1. She gave me the HPV vaccine the standard three times. Each subsequent time I went to her office she would ask me if I was interested in getting the vaccine-even though my medical records were right in front of her. This woman does not have time for you! 2. She has WAY to many patients and is totally unprepared for appointments. I routinely had to wait an average of at least 45 min before being seen. It was impossible to get her on the phone. 3.I had all the symptoms of a UTI and went to her office for a urine test in hope of getting antibiotics. After a few days of severe pain, she called me and told me I didn't have one. I suffered a few more days until I started to get a fever. I went to a walk-in clinic at the hospital down the street and they said I had blood in my urine and a MILD KIDNEY INFECTION and I was lucky I caught it when I did or else I would have had to be HOSPITALIZED. That should have been the last time I saw her. 4. I went for one last pap smear last fall. She called me several days later and told me I had HERPES. That I was having an outbreak and prescribed me valtrex. I had NO symptoms, she did NO blood test. By this point I was skeptical of anything she told me. I went to Planned Parenthood, got my blood tested. No herpes. And the nurse said there is no way Dr. Falzon could have tested for herpes without a blood test unless I was having an outbreak. I called Dr. Falzon to give her a piece of my mind. Instead of suggesting she do a blood test herself to confirm, she insisted I have herpes. This was last September. I have been tested four times since then-paranoia, a side effect of being a patient here-and NO HERPES. THIS WOMAN SHOULD NOT BE PRACTICING MEDICINE! read more

This is by far the worst doctor's office i have ever been to. First of all, the waiting room smelled like pee, maybe it was because they make everyone pee in a cup immediately when you get there and leave it on the counter. It was dark dingy and smelly and hot. Second - i waited AN HOUR AND A HALF to be called...what the hell is point of making an appointment? No only that, but after the lady finally calls me in, she freakin leaves me in the gyno room wearing the stupid hospital gown thing for 20 minutes. I recently called to try and get a prescription i really needed and they got back to me 5 hours later, only after i bothered them four times. apparently Dr. Falzon was "very busy" I would understand if she was amazing or something but my nurse practioner at my college's health services was way better. so basically, never going back and would NEVER recommend this place. read more

I saw the Dr. at the Brighton office. The Dr. is Nice and seems to know what she is talking about but I wont be going back to her. The first time I went in she was running behind because one of her patients went into labor. This is understandable, however, it would have been professional if the receptionist would have informed me and the other people waiting. I waited for 1hr and then overheard the receptionist talking about it. When I asked the receptionist about it she said I would have to wait another 1 - 1 1/2 hours. I found this to be very unprofessional. I gave it another shot. My appointment went well. I had problems with the birth control she gave me and I called the office and left a message with the answering service, which they either got or don't check. When I call for the 3rd time they didn't even pull up my chart, they kept asking me the same questions over and over. When I requested that the person pull my chart she didn't say anything and just put me on hold (I though she hung up). Another person came on the phone and was snappy about everything. Yup, I saw Maria Falzon too - once. I was looking for someone new and I had a family member that liked her. When I went there I found that some of her methods and some of the statements that she made were either outdated or not completely true, possibly because she was trained a while ago. Also, her views on ob/gyn care for women are extremely conservative. If this aligns with you, then you might enjoy her. She seemed very caring and spent a fair amount of time with me. If your views do not align with this, it is really not worth your time. All of the options here for birth control and procedures are not presented objectively or will not be available to you. read more

All the staff members in the office are very rude and unhelpful. The wait for my appointment was almost an hour long. Dr. Falzon was friendly but seemed very rushed throughout the appointment. She said she highly suggests some blood works for some tests and I told her I was not sure what is and is not covered by insurance so I will double check and book another appointment following week or so. She insisted that she will have one of her staff call my insurance and make sure that the tests are covered - I made the mistake of trusting this woman and weeks later I got a bill of almost $400 from the lab. I called her office to see what happened, then again, extremely rude staff (front desk, and billing department) told me she is very busy, I waited on the phone to speak to the doctor herself. When I spoke to her again, she completely denied everything that happened on the day of the appointment. She said the person who called the insurance infront of me while I was waiting to do the bloodwork was not her staff, and she has never worked with that person before, and she said she never suggested those tests for me. If Dr. Falzon shared honestly that she did not have her staff call the insurance for me and did not know that the tests are not covered by my insurance, I would've considered the incident as miscommunication because her speaking wasn't clear throughout the appointment to begin with, but when I spoke to her on the phone after receiving that bill from the lab, she sounded a lot clearer all of sudden and I felt tricked when she denied the entire day what happened during the appointment. She is not a trustworthy person, and if you are considering to go to her, be aware of her suggestions! she might sound like she cares about your health, but at the end, she doesn't care at all. read more

A very thorough doctor, I was impressed by her knowledge and bedside manner. That said....I was not impressed by the 1.5 hour wait but I was forwarned and brought a book. I would definately go back to this caring doctor who took her time and asked a lot of questions. read more

Dr Falzon is a wonderfully thorough and caring doctor. She is a conscientious doctor. She truly cares about the health and well being of her patients. I have been going to Dr Falzon for over 20 years, delivered my daughter and offered me exceptional care during that difficult pregnancy. You will wait for your appointment as she is delayed at the hospital delivering babies (plan ahead!). I always call ahead of my appointment to see if she's on time and they will tell me to wait to come in or not. It's how it works at her office. She tells everyone ahead of time that that's how it works. A+!! read more

I agree with all the above posts. Bad everything. Staff weren't friendly. Falzon not overly friendly, doesn't explain things and doesn't understand me when I try to talk about what I'm worried about. Brushes it off like it's stupid. Unacceptable. BAD referrals!! Everything has to be referred out, she doesn't perform most anything real in her office and I had a terrible referral to another doctor for a more serious problem than she could handle. THEN they didn't fax over my charts and test results to referrals when I asked them to multiple times. Had to reschedule more than 1 past appointment because she had to be out to deliver a baby. You always have to call that morning or an hour before to see if anyone more important than you happened to have gone into labor. When you do get to see her on your appointed date and time, expect to wait at least 45 minutes after your start time, and then wait some more. I need a new doctor ASAP. read more

Dr Falzon is by far the worst doctor in the history of all practice. If anyone asks me about who I saw as my gynecologist, I would tell them never to head in her direction at all. Stay away from her!! I only managed to sign up with her because she was the only available PCP near my area. Little did I know that I was getting into the worst experience ever. first, her office do not communicate at all about payment plans. they do not even qoute you for services done, rather they just drop a bill on you later. I had no clue about all the bills i later received because they did not bother to let you know the cost of services, which is very important. even after asking, all they told me was that it was covered if i had insurance, and low and behold it was not. Later i realized how she was pressuring me into doing several tests and medication that were not necessary all because she would get money out of it. For example, she did a pa smear, fair enough.. then a month later she comes to me and says that the pap smear was good but they need more cells. WHAAAAT? two pap smears in a month, for more cells, even when you said the first was negative? when the bill came, i understood why she was begging me for that second pap. the worst thing about her was that she did not speak to me or explain things to me well. she would not listen to my concerns, even as a new patient. she would cut me off when i talked and then did not fully explain the questions i had. it was a very condescending way of doing business and i remember going home to google questions after meeting her. which is ironic if you had taken time to go and see a doctor. She also did not agree with some choices i wanted to make for my health, but rather than to refer me to someone who can help me, she actually acted curt and cut me off. I expected a good relationship with my provider but this woman gave a new meaning to the word doctor. Front Desk is EXTREMELY unprofessional and rude. Absolutely no understanding of patient communication. I missed an appointment one time and they black mailed me with my birth control saying until I make an appointment, they wouldn't refill my prescription! And then this bitch said she hoped I learned my lesson!! Bitch please. Found a new polite gyno office within minutes. This place has a very negative energy. Do not recommend whatsoever. read more

I went to this "doctor" because I suspected a cervical lump and really really clearly had a yeast infection. She took my medical history down on a random piece of paper, ran every test she could think of, took almost 2 weeks to get back the yeast infection results, and then forgot to call in my prescription. I called her back when the pharmacy still hadn't gotten it (8 hours after they said they'd call it in) and she asked "what was the medication again". I am going to get a complete checkup from someone else because I don't trust a single thing she said or did. read more

I first started seeing Dr. Falzon about 7 years ago. I trust her 100%. Yes, you might have to wait longer to see her, but it's worth it. I feel very safe and at ease knowing she is my doctor. If she sees something wrong, she has someone double check the issue. I highly recommend her, and hope you won't make a decision on your health by how long you have to wait in the waiting room. read more

Dr. Falzon diagnosed me with several STIs after my first visit, when I told her I was sexually active (as one normally does when visiting the gyne). I thought it was strange since I was so adamant about using condoms and only had one partner for the two years before I saw her, so I got a second opinion. Big surprise, all the diagnoses were bunk and the other physician I saw (at Beth Israel) said the diagnostics she was using were outdated and that she also hadn't interpreted the results correctly. Either she is completely inept or unwilling to do her job properly, likely due to her very conservative religious views. Or maybe it's both. Either way, find yourself another gyne. read more

Best doctor I have ever seen.... She doesn't take chances and always always double checks to make sure nothing is wrong. Today most doctors just push you aside tell you it's nothing and move on. Dr. Falzon-Kirby's office is not LGBTQ friendly. I would not recommend her if you are having pre-marital sex or if you do not identify as heterosexual. Her paperwork includes several questions about your "husband" and specifically says that she will not perform or refer out for abortions. My wife and I left before meeting her due to discomfort. The secretary was not very welcoming, and I was dealing with a potentially serious condition. We decided to seek medical advice elsewhere and are so happy we did! read more

Dr Falzon is definitely the worst OB. I had experienced wait in her office for almost 2 hours!!!! And she did lots of test on me and never explain to me what the tests are!!!! So I were keeping get lots of bills from the labs. Just for some routine OB check up, I had been billed almost $1000!!!! I am totally pissed off. I will never never go back her office anymore. She sucks. And she keep referring me to see lots of different specialists!!! I really dislike her!!! try to stay away from her as much as possible!!!! read more

Dr. Falzon is knowledgeable and caring and one of the best doctor's I have ever had. And with diabetes, thyroid cancer, etc. I have been cared for by a lot of doctors. I had a high risk pregnancy and fully believe that I would not have my daughter today if not for the excellent care of Dr. Falzon. Her staff is always friendly and helpful, particularly Mary. You do tend to have to wait a while in the waiting room - there are two reasons for that: 1. She is sometimes over at the hospital with a patient or delivery. Her staff will let you know if this is the case and reschedule if needed. 2. She takes time with each patient to make sure that she answers your questions and addresses all your needs. So I plan for it and bring a book or magazine. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Falzon for over 10 years now. I agree you do have to wait to see her. Both her practices in Brighton and Arlington advise you to call before you come to see if she is running on time. She is one of the few doctors that delivers her patients' babies herself (except when she is on vacation in the fall). The wait is because she is delivering a baby usually. Anyways, she took care of me when I had my first miscarriage and during both of my pregnancies and delivered both of my children. After I miscarried, the hospital staff and she were extremely caring during such a difficult time. She is extremely thorough, thoughtful, and caring. She does not take risks. She is simply one of the best. For those of you that have posted remarks about her outdated practices, please note that she works for a Catholic hospital. While I was pregnant with my second child I inquired about an IUD after birth. She told me that she would not be able to do this because of hospital policy and for religious reasons. I was a bit disappointed, but she gave me an alternative, which was the Essure procedure. I am extremely happy with the procedure and her care of me. When I see her I still cry because she is an extremely important part of my life. read more

Worst OB/GYN experience I have ever had. After waiting 2 hours (even after calling prior to my appointment to make sure she could still get me in) I had a 15 minute check up that consisted mostly of me signing about a half dozen release forms before she would even begin the exam. For that 15 minute exam she charged my insurance company for two appointments and incorrectly billed the lab. Will not be returning to this office. read more

I use to think very highly of Dr.Falzon she delievered 3 of my children, but what happened to me last year, would make your hair stand up on your head! I lost a baby last November. I was 20 weeks along. Dr. Falzon was on vacation so I dealt with MFM. When Dr. Falzon came home she called me Monday (I was not home) I returned her call and she was not in, I left a message to have her call me.. to this day she has not returned my phone call. I had an regular OB appt on Wed with her I never went to it, she never called to see if I was ok.. NOTHING!!!! I am still beside myself and shocked! She clearly did not care!!!! I was half way through my pregnancy! Also, with this pregnancy, every appt was also different. She walked out the room a couple of times to take a call and I had questions.. Unfortunately, she needs to retire or cut her time back to GYN only. I have now found a phenomonal doctor at Newton Wellesley!! Who I am so happy with and look forward to having deliever another baby! I hope this review helps anyone trying to make a decision but there are better and younger doctors out there! read more

Dr. Falzon is amazing, Yes she is very Thorough and you may have to wait a little bit because she treats ever patient with respect, and always makes sure you are comfortable when you leave the office. She holes a special place in my heart because if it wasn't to her quick thinking and years of knowledge my beautiful " HEALTHY" daughter won't be here today.
