Disappointed because Dr Hayeck does great work, you can tell she's highly intelligent but the overall experience doesn't weigh out on the Libra scale. I found Maria-Dolores Hayeck, DDS from a google search about Maryland Bridge procedures. I called to schedule a consultation for a specific tooth in January they set an appointment for 2 weeks out (feb). Went to my first appointment. I was told they could do the work for me but it'd be a multi step process. They scheduled me with a dental surgeon who only comes twice a month. I was adamant about not wanting a dental implant or bone graft and I expressed that to Dr Hayeck. When I came to my appointment for the extraction the male dentist was trying to push the bone graft, I stood my ground and said no. I was in tremendous pain after the extraction. A week from that date I had an appointment for different tooth that needed cosmetic work. On the way to my dentist appointment a piece of tooth fell out of that hole. (See picture) I assumed it was a piece of tooth and they didn't full extract how they should have. They tried to convince me it was a piece of bone graft, BUT WHY WAS THERE ANY BONE GRAFT PUT IN AGAINST MY EXPRESSED CONSENT? My body rejects foreign objects from piercings to screws from my 4 hip replacements I told them that, I know myself. I had dr Hayeck do X-rays to make sure there was nothing in there that would lead to more pain or any infection. She did the work on what I called my popcorn tooth and it came out beautifully. This made me excited for my Maryland bridge. I also let them talk me into paying out of pocket for her to do full mouth X-rays and fillings. Today (3/1) I received a voicemail from "Anna" who works in the office. I called back and she told me I missed my appointment (for the additional work and not my bridge) today and I was caught off guard because I was preparing for my appointment the following day @ 12pm. I haven't missed an appointment yet, I always arrive early. I even sat one day an hour PAST my appointment start time waiting patiently, never gave them a hard time. Didn't give them a hard time about the bone graft piece. Paid my bills in full via debit card. I ask what can we do schedule a new appoint she goes mute, I thought I lost reception I said hello? She snaps and says I'm looking for something. Offers March 11th at 11 I say okay that's fine and then proceeds to reprimand me about make sure I write it down because they had a block for me and I missed it. I'm not sure if she wanted me to beg and cry over an accidental missed appointment. Things happen, it was unintentional I asked how we could fix it. The attitude was unnecessary and for that I will not continue to go back. I can't trust the care will be top notch if that makes them that upset, plus The issues I've already I've experienced. The older woman who works receptions they should really only allow her to make the calls as she's pleasant. I'd like to add their system even sent me a text today at 12:07 (7 minutes past my supposed start time) that I have yet to confirm my appointment leading me to believe it was indeed Tuesday at 12 and not Monday at 12 read more

Everyone in the office is able to communicate effectively in English. I've never waited in the waiting area more than 5 minutes. While I've never driven there, when my procedure was running long they offered to go feed the parking meter. One time I did have a complaint/concern about charges that I didn't understand, and the next day the dentist herself called me, which I felt was very reassuring. Dr. Hayeck expects her clients to be happy, and will personally ensure that your concerns and needs are satisfied. In spite of my 5 star review, there are things I do NOT like: 1. There's a poster in the office that says "Limiting yourself to the benefits of your dental insurance may be dangerous to your health". It makes me feel like I'm going to be sold a procedure I can't afford. 2. They take a full mouth x ray in the slowest most obnoxious way (one frame at a time like 30 times), but it allows them to see even the smallest cavities or imperfections, which I guess is a good thing, but is arduous and uncomfortable at the time. **Revision** I experienced the same sort of cavity bamboozling that another reviewer experienced. Had an excellent experience at Dr. Hayeck's office. Staff is always courteous and service is timely. My hygienist, Andrea Benitez, is the consummate professional--helping to understand the best ways to floss and brush to keep my teeth healthy. We had a bad experience with a prior dentist after moving here, which forced us to find a new dentist and we're glad we found Dr. Hayeck. She and her staff are pleasant, thorough and caring. Ok, I went here because of the great reviews, but I have SEVERAL problems with this place. I went and scheduled an appointment. For new patients they DO NOT do cleanings first, and refuse to schedule one until after the appointment is done and after the "cavities" are fixed. So more appointments for me, more missed work for me. Thanks guys. Then I go in there, 2 minute consultation on "what I want for my teeth". Waste of time. Then I sit in the chair while she criticizes the teeth that I have put a lot of effort in taking care of. I have recently even changed my WHOLE diet for my teeth. Then insists that my "loose" tooth may need to be fixed in 6mos. Yeah, I told you it was loose because I was wearing my retainer every day for the last 4 days for the first time in FOREVER and I felt my teeth were moving, specifically that tooth, as a result of the retaininer. Then they tell me I have almost a dozen cavities, and I need to get them all fixed. So I went back to work, not too upset. However, I am VERY diligent. So I called my old dentist that I saw about 10 mos ago. I asked him to look at my old xrays and see if there was anything wrong that he could see me having 11 cavities. His assistant called me back and told me to "take my x-rays and run the other way". So I thought I'd get a second opinion, but not completely write them off. I have a friend who is an out-of-network dentist I plan on going to. Their office called asking for my x-rays and they told them that they can't send digital copies, and that I'd have to pick them up. So I go there and have to wait for the doctor, and its a kind of "exit interview" talk she's having with me. She basically states that she stands by her opinion, and that while all 11 might not be cavities now, they will be in the future, and the x-rays might not show that they are cavities. I felt railroaded and lied to about the x-rays, they basically just dragged me there to pressure me into staying. I'm sorry, ARE THEY CAVITIES OR AREN'T THEY? I have been to at least 5 dentists in my short lifetime (I move a lot), and ALL of them have told me that while your eye may show you stains, not all may become cavities, and ONLY x-rays can show cavities. So basically they are after my money, and that's not something I can afford right now. I also don't want to go through unnecessary pain, or miss work a bunch of times because they want to keep separating my appointments. So they gave me small paper xray copies. The doctor insisted they should be able to email them to me. So they do, but after downloading 5 programs, I can't view their proprietary format. I call, they say they will send it again, but do nothing different in sending it, and called it a day. Thanks for your wonderful care. (Note the sarcasm). Update: I went to a new dentist - he and his wife are close friends of my sister and her husband, so I had a lot more trust in his integrity. Needless to say, I have only THREE cavities, and there were several areas to watch, but then he also is prescribing me some items to help ward off future cavities. He also showed me this GREAT black floss and told me where I can order it, because I have a hard time flossing correctly. All in all, this other dentist seems wonderful. He said even with the areas of concern, there were nowhere near 11 - the others were just stains. I would never go back to her again! Those x-rays she got? yeah, not covered by my insurance because they didn't check to see the last time I got that in-depth of an x-ray screening (18!!). He also said he's not done that many x-rays on a patient for 22 years. She also never was able to get me a readable x-ray. My overall impression: Basically a money-grubber who doesn't care about her patient's finances. I'm glad some people are happy, but they probably don't realize they're being taken for all their worth. Good luck. read more

Dr. Hayeck and the team are great, especially Ana and the two hygienists. Our family including 2 small kids have been her clients for over 2 years now and we're very satisfied. My experience here was similar to another reviewer's. This dentist recommend some pretty radical procedures that would have resulted in quite a bit of money for her, many follow-up appointments for me and were not covered by my insurance. She tried to pressure me into immediate action. I'm getting a second opinion. read more

I went to Dr. Hayeck after a very disappointing experience elsewhere. When I first moved to Miami, it seemed that every dentist's office was simply pushing the latest product, with flashy gadgets and all sorts of marketing. Dr. Hayeck, who came recommended to me from a colleague, was a great breath of fresh air from all of this. Her office is clean, efficient, nearly always on time, and very much about getting the job done. Nobody tries to "sell" me things I don't need, and I always feel like I am getting honest, thorough care, from everyone in the office. Everyone there is extremely friendly, and Norma the hygienist is excellent.
