Clean, very friendly professional staff, good breakfast at reasonable prices. I've been eating here over the past 5 yrs. I've never had a bad breakfast or found anything to complain about. There is another newer similar type restaurant in town. If you read anything negative about this place....well sometimes friends of competing businesses try to stack the deck against their competition. Not saying that's the case, but I've read some of the reviews here. All I can say is that, every single time I've dined here I've been totally happy. I'm a retired hospital employee so I'm picky and notice most everything. This place reminds me of a small town "cheers" kind of place. read more

We walked in at 1:50 and they close at 2. We apologized and were greeted warmly by staff. Our 1st time here, they took their time cooking our food, it was very good and fresh and hot. Definitely try this diner, it's excellent, and not so pricey. 5 stars read more

The staff here is phenomenal. So kind, so sweet and friendly. Overall, great customer service and has a small town vibe. I only wish I didnt have to say the rest: Food wise, I've had a stomach ache since I left there. The place isn't very clean and they let random friends visiting behind the counter. I had to spit out parts of the crispy chicken in my sandwich because it was undercooked. I dont understand how this place is still in business to be honest. Also if your going to feed dogs you should atleast wash your hands after before handling customer plates. Just no common sense here. Filthy. read more

Everytime I come here the food is always good and service is fast and friendly. We got breakfast to go and the hash browns were cooked perfect and crispy even after sitting in a styrofoam container. Good place :) read more

I love the waitstaff here, I am there enough that I walk in and my coffee is seconds behind my arrival and the only order exchange is "usual?" Before we get to checking in on how the week has been. I love the Sweet Cajun Bacon Skillet the best but the Pecan Cinnamon Pancakes are exceptional and my daughter lives for the Biscuits and Gravy. If you're there for lunch, you can't go wrong with the Coney Special or the Coney Mess. read more

We came here one morning after staying overnight in a local inn. We wanted a quick breakfast before getting on the road so we figured coney island would be perfect. Unfortunately for us we got there right after somebody placed a to go order for 10 meals. But in true Coney Island fashion, they moved quickly and we got our order. In the interim the waitress made sure our coffee cups were full. The food was very good and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is in the area. read more

We just moved to China twp and this has been our go to for carry out. They have very good portion sizes with very reasonable prices. When you walk in you definitely get a surprise. Doesn't seem like much at first glance... small crowded feel... but the food and staff definitely win you over. I would recommend for dine in or carry out! read more

Just beware before you go.... staff seems to regard mask wearing as a joke. Some have none at all, one wears hers like a neck scarf and another server seems to think it's supposed to be worn below the nose. Patrons enter (and remain) with no mask and the space is quite small so social distancing is not possible. They seem nice, so I don't think it's because they don't care about the customers, but that's how their complete lack of protocol makes you feel. read more

we got there and my initial thought was "oh this is cute!" i was CRAVING a coney dog and was so excited. Unfortunately, it was not what i wanted. initially, we ordered cheese sticks (obviously) and they were frozen... they re fried the same cheese sticks and brought them back all exploded... moving on, i ordered my chili dog, we get our food really fast and i bite into my chili dog.. and it's cold.. at this point i just gave up... i ate my french fries and we payed and left. read more

Now, this is the only Coney Island restaurant placed just inside the Riverview strip mall. My grandfather and I entered this restaurant for lunch, wondering if this restaurant struck gold. Our drinks (grandfather's coffee, and my Pepsi) came in under a minute, which is fast service. The way the waitress took our order was very good. The quality of the food is the number one thing we wanted for our lunch experience, and that's exactly what we wanted to have. My "Coney Mess", a chili-cheese fry dish plus chopped hot dogs is fantastic. My grandfather's roast beef sandwich was pretty good. As I said, the quality of food was very good, and the waitress was great. I go there on occasion, and I'll be back to eat here someday. read more

Always good food at a good price. It was a little busy today and the cook noticed Stella was working the other tables. My omelette was done and instead of putting it under the light waiting for Stella to serve it, he came out and delivered it. Within a minute, Stella was back at the cook's station and snapped "where's my omelette" (meaning mine), and the cook smiled back and "he's got it". Great service all around!! read more

There are coney purists who will diss on St Clair Coney because it uses a lighter, more cumin-heavy sauce. I hear ya'. We all have our preferences and I'll be the first to admit that it's not the best coney I've had, but having come from St Clair I'm a HUGE fan and return to the Coney every time I'm in town. St Clair Coney Island has a big hometown following because it is delicious. There ya go. read more

I have been going here every weekend for years. Unfortunately in the last several months, things have really gone down the drain. Today I went in for breakfast. 2 eggs over medium, sausage, a half order of French Toast and coffee. 40 minutes later, having watched several tables seated after me getting their food, I asked. Waitress said she would check. Coming back with a full order of French Toast that was cold and telling me the remaining was just started and would be out shortly. Last week, same order. Cold French Toast and over cooked eggs. Week before, same order. Cold sausage, no refill on the over priced coffee. I guess I am the dumb one for going back time and again. We stumbled upon this on a Sunday driving South looking for a diner type place. We left a riverview cafe when the young, clueless employee looked at us as if we were nuts when we asked if they served breakfast instead of referring us around the corner to the Coney Island. First, the staff was WONDERFUL. Pleasant, friendly, genuine, good service. Second, just what we wanted - a great diner breakfast at a great price. Very happy - would go again in a minute. Don't know how their other food is, but the staff's attitude alone would bring us back. read more

St. Clair Coney Island has been around as long as I can remember. Ever since the new owner Randy took over the place has improved immensely and for the better. I now stop in a couple times a week because I love the large selection and well prepared meals that I always receive. I especially enjoy stopping in for breakfast. The entire staff is super friendly and make you feel welcome and like you are a regular whenever you come, whether it be your first time or 100th time in. Stop in, you'll enjoy your meal and the small town atmosphere. read more

The food was horrible for the price. On top of that, they don't accept debit/credit cards. If you don't have cash, you have to use their ATM machine to get cash and that charges you $3! Never will go back there again! read more
