I have been to this place for years, just didn't realize that no one has given this place a review. This is one of many locations that they have in the area. But this location is the easiest to find because it's next to the goodyear blimp base airport. This place is hugh. It's like the major chain home improvement nurseries with way mo' better selection. This place is just great if you accept it for what it is. It's a serve-yourself wholesale nursery open to the public. You can get a very wide variety of plants for DIRT CHEAP! Most items are at least 50% less than Home Depot or Lowes. Often much lower. That's the appeal and it's really worth it. With wholesale prices that low, it's not realistic to expect full service where someone holds your hand, answers all your gardening questions, ties a pink ribbon around your pot. There's just a cashier inside of a converted trailer and some field personnel walking around, watering the plants. More than good enough at these prices. Most of the popular garden plants and trees are available. They don't have as big a selection as an Armstrong Garden Center, but I'd definitely use MB for the more common stuff. Plants are generally in pretty good shape. They also have some nice large decorative pots at decent prices. read more

The entire staff at Maria's was great. There was an older gentleman that drove me around in his cart to find what I was looking for. He were very patient and professional. I picked up some plants and flowers for the back yard and we're pretty satisfied. The guy was nice and gave us $1 off each plant. We got some Lantana, Shrimp Plants, Morning Glory and some other stuff I can't recall the name of... The guy even tried to give me a "gato" lol.... I have been using this nursery for many years. A couple of years ago (estimate) they had to move locations (used to be next to the Goodyear blimp) and I must have come not too long after their move. I was a bit disappointed during that initial visit but have since returned and have been pleased. It took them awhile to get everything organized after the move and I am sure it will be a work in progress until they get it as good as their prior location. I can't imagine having to move one entire nursery to a new location. The amount of work that must have taken and the amount of work it took to get everything organized must have been overwhelming. If you have had problems, go speak to them. They have been nothing short of polite and helpful with me. read more

This is a great nursery, well worth the drive from West LA! It has a really robust selection of landscaping plants, and the prices are easily 30-50% cheaper than comparable big-box retailers. I'm an infrequent customer here bcz of distance. But I have good reason for liking my experience here. My bottle tree is doing great 10 years later and all other plantings (shrimp plant, ground over and more) did well. Prices are what make it top of my list except when I don't have time to make the drive. I'd buy from them when I'm ready to landscape. I wouldn't expect them to know what I need. I'd go with my own list and ideas all worked out, knowing what needs to be sited where. I'm handy that way. Otherwise, hire someone. read more

I can't say enough about Fredrico and his team. Frederico gave us a very reasonable quote to completely re-landscape our yard after another contractor broke our sprinkler system. Within a 5 day period our sprinkler system was repaired and replaced with a drip system, we have new grass, and amazing landscaping. Our yard went from the worst in the neighborhood to the best in the neighborhood within the space of one week. His team was amazing to work with! read more

Landscaping my yard is a passionate hobby of mine so I have been to a lot of nurseries in both LA and Orange County where I reside. After discovering this place by accident, my sister and I have frequently visited this place for our plants. Every time we went was always a pleasant experience especially when Javier assisted us. He will choose the healthiest plants for you when selecting a particular type of your choice. I normally don't write comments in the computer but the joy and excitement coming to this place is worth it. Every single plant we bought has thrived very well. Yesenia was patient and kind and didn't freak out when we were there nearly an hour past closing- her and her coworker helped put all of our trees in our car and somehow made them fit and get out unscathed! We used MB Landscaping for a major overhaul of our yard. Initial work was great, on time and good service. However a "feature" tree we paid a lot of money for died within a few months. We had MB come out and take a look, and were told "sometimes you just get a bad tree" OK - I get that. We paid for that tree to be removed and a new one planted in its place. And, within a few months, that tree died too. Watering was correct, planting was done by them. Called MB numerous times to see if we could get someone to come and see what was going on. Every phone call we made we were told they would get someone to come and take a look. Never saw or heard from anyone. After 4 attempts to get someone out,we are down 2 trees and about $800. So can not really recommend after this experience. Shame though as we like to support local business. read more

Referred to MB by a reputable general contractor. After $20k spent on the back yard landscaping project to remove the ivy, added tons of soil, planted 5 grown citrus trees ($600 each), 2 copper, 5 sego palm trees, a few agave, wild rosemary as ground cover and lots and lots of organic compost, I want to cry every time I walk in my back yard. 5 of the citrus trees, one copper tree and one sego palm tree died, the rosemary looks awful and you can see the ground still in certain spots. The maintainance gardeners assured me that the yard was receiving adequate water, food and appropriate fertilizers and that the biggest problem was the rocky soil and no matter how much fertile soil was added, after a few rain falls, the added soil got washed off and the rocks surfaced. Furthermore, the citrus trees and copper does not do well on rocky steep hill sides. I should have not relied on their professional recommendations. They got their money and I have to redo my landscaping. Sad and disappointed:( read more

We went to MB Nursery in Jun 2017, looking for some tall plants that will make a good privacy screen. We took a stroll through the garden, and while the plants names/price were not posted, the staff was helpful and identified them by the pictures we took. We picked 15 gal. red honeysuckle for $50, 6-8 ft= tall. They did not have as many as we needed on site, but they brought them in from their plant farm the next day. The plants they brought were even better than the one we picked from the site, and my garden looks great now. Thank you! read more
