When I stopped by Abeja looking for milkweeds they pointed me in this direction. WOW! Toro has a HUGE quantity of LARGE tropical milkweeds!!!! OMG! I could only fit 3 in my car. Really happy. Entrance driveway is TINY. Drive down to the 1st electrical tower & you'll find all the tropical milkweeds there. Load up your car, then go R to find the cashier on the way out. Great nursery in the heart of Torrance. I was doing a project in my backyard and sourced some ground cover from them dymondia. They have a great selection of plants for whatever kind of garden you are growing. Staff was cool and guided me to the right section. The place is right off Crenshaw with plenty of parking. I really like this nursery. First of all it is massive with all sorts of plants. I personally head towards the tent that caters specifically to houseplants. I've bought 3 plants from here at this point and they have all thrived. They allow you to walk around and examine the plants at your leisure. There's a small area that looks like an apt room which is nice, and some modern looking stylish pots. I have visited this nursery twice now and I won't be coming back. Very difficult to find anyone to help us find what we need. We were also chased by a crazy lady in a black Nissan SUV. She drove so fast to tell my bf that they were closed when they were still minutes away from closing. She was EXTREMELY UNWELCOMING! We definitely were not wanted there. This is my favorite nursery! I have gotten most of my plants from here. Theres a great selection and pricing is great, for me personally. My daughter and I love taking care of monarch caterpillars and releasing them when they are ready to fly. This is where we go for our milkweed when we find our hungry hungry friends have eaten through our little plant in our yard. We were happy to find a nice little friend to bring home with us too. If you love having butterflies in your yard, make sure to plant one for the butterflies! Save the butterflies They have a tent with a really cool set up too, we took advantage for a photo opp. Looking forward to bringing more hydrangeas home too. I will admit that I am not much of a plant person but I have brought friends (with greener thumbs) to this nursery now three times and they have loved the selection, the size, and the prices. From what I can tell, the plants are very reasonably priced and the staff is friendly and open when approached but otherwise leave customers to browse themselves as they are often busy doing other things. The selection is simply EXPANSIVE and you can spend hours just looking through all the selection which are laid out under canopies, in green houses, or in large flats. In addition to plants they also sell a variety of related items such as fertilizers, gardening tools, and pottery. All of these items seemed "regular" price (or slightly more than at a competing large chain improvement stores); so don't come the nursery for those items, come for the plants themselves and spend a little extra on the supplies to save yourself time or trip to another store or to support a local business. read more

So I've been making some home improvements since the pandemic started. One of the finishing touches was adding house plants. The hard part was finding the right houseplants that fit my lifestyle. I'm a busy med student, so I needed a plant that's low maintenance and hardy. I came to Toro Nursery to see my options. The customer service rep made the perfect recommendation. After picking out my plant, and the pot in which to place it, I proceeded to pay. The transaction was quick, and I was on my way home with my new plant. That was a few weeks ago. My plant is green, vibrant, and not a headache to keep alive. I will be back to this place to get more plants for my home, and I plan to switch it up a bit. They have different types of flowering plants . My latest purchase was the BLEEDING HEART for $3.50 each. Please don't be confused with the OC Succulent which is located in the front area. Toro is at the back. They're two different nurseries with different management. Park. Pick. Load them in your car and a guy will approach you to calculate the payment. I seriously cannot recommend this place enough. Toro is hands down the best plant nursery in the South Bay. They always have healthy plants with incredible prices. I've visited many other nurseries in LA and OC, but always come back here. Lovely service too, very friendly. I also appreciate how prices are visible, and most plants have an ID tag. I love to come here for the succulents but they also have a lovely selection of indoor plants as well. Ditch the big box stores and come here instead! read more

Great place to get plants, they have so much it would be better if you went in person. How the place works is you can drive your car around the nursery (in a loop) and pay for everything near the entrance/exit. Convenient if you are getting alot. Pretty good prices imo, I came here for the succulents and took home some of their "On sale" varieties for like a buck per. At the time of visiting they did have peperomia axillaris, which I have not found in many other nurseries nearby; atleast in this season. Will be coming back for more. read more

This is a wonderful place for landscape designers, gardeners, and plant lovers. I heard about it through the company that overhauled our backyard and I have since learned to do my own planting. They are half the price of C &S if you live in South LA/Mid-city and worth the short drive south on the 405. Although they bring their succulents up from San Diego, they grow everything else on-site. As you enter from Crenshaw Blvd, the first business is NOT El Toro. Keep driving back and check out their inventory. You will be shocked at what Lowe's and HD charge as a markup on the very same plants. Have fun! read more

Toro is not just a nursery, it is an adventure. The property is so expansive, you do have to drive your car in to find what you want... the home veggie gardeners that we are, need to drive all the way to the back of the garden in order to find our lettuces, tomatoes, peppers and squash. Prices are incredibly reasonable. Go early, because they also close early! read more

The process of driving around the nursery to all the different areas and picking what you want then checking out at their "drive thru" nursery checkout is awesome.
