Bar area of Mi Tierra! Sat here to wait for a table at the restaurant and had a truly enormous, great margarita Marg came fast but ordered some guac that took a long while. Loved the vibe of the place--so homey and lives up to the mariachi name!

The mariachis are amazing! I love the vibe as soon as you walk in. I actually used to play with a group there a few years ago and the people there are always ready to party. The service is great- very responsive.

Botana platter, a sample of appetizers. Delicious!

This place is a very touristy spot and always crowded. I usually avoid going downtown but I was in that area with my aunt so she offered to treat me to lunch. So I said why not, they have a reputation for having great margaritas. We shared the Botana Platter, it's a large platter of appetizers including flautas and quesadillas. It was good, not great, but the ambience and margaritas make up for it. They have a great selection of mexican pastries. This place is located inside of Mi Tierra's Cafe smack in the middle of Market Square, a very popular tourist's destination spot. We wanted to eat at Mi Tierra's but the wait time was ridiculous. Mariachi Bar was also crowded but we managed to find a table for two. They only offer a very limited appetizer menu in this place, but our platter was satisfying and filling for the two of us. If you're ever in San Antonio, you should definitely check it out. It's kind of a throw back to old Mexico.

Crazy busy tourist time? On a Tuesday evening at 8pm, this place was packed. We initially wanted to go to La Margarita and Oyster but they were closed, maybe that's why this place got extra packed. We waited in line at the bakery to get our names down for a table of 3, at 8pm, hostess estimated 2.5 hour wait, like whoa...but I had a feeling it would be faster as it usually is and it was 8pm already and they close at 10pm? So we decided to have drinks at the bar. Andres was solo bartender from Columbia, cool guy, one man show at the bar and busted out hella suave cool drinks super fast. We were never empty for more than a minute. The bar has an abbreviated menu of small dishes, such as chips/salsa, guacamole, chili con queso, coctel de camarones, we got one of each. Started the nibbling and more of the drinking and chatting with Andres, and with some other tourists or locals...was having too much fun at the bar waiting for our table. Our table was ready at 9:15pm, about a little over an hour wait, it felt like 15 minutes cuz we were having an awesome time at the bar. So we gave away our table and spent the rest of our evening enjoying our apps, drinks, and chatting with Andres. What a great time in beautiful San Antonio!

Great all around! Enjoyed the food, drinks, and sweets! We will be back next time we are in SA!

I really dont really mind if server is unfriendly but it was really Disgusting. I ordered one Soda and a beer and just saw that Male Server scratched his hair with my straw. Omg. And asked for slice of orange for beer but he provided orange on napkin. If you dont want to work then dont. Your attitude ruined my day.

I love this bar.....in my opinion Mariachi Bar has some of the best Margaritas that San Antonio has to offer. This place has such a relaxed vibe which translate to some good times along with good drinks. You can lounge here and order appetizers along with adult drinks. On certain days they have live music which I know will take this experience into the next level. If you in town and in need of some good drinks in a place to relax then this is the place for you

    Small and jumbo margarita

Took a while to have table cleaned and waited on. Servers look down so as not to see customers. Beef enchiladas were lukewarm when served. Excellent margaritas as always No dulce de calabaza?? Just not right! Lucky enough to find parking at backside. Don't forget to tip the attendant..it's hot out there.

Out of sight tequila flights (sample 4 tequilas in one setting)!!! Always here my first night on a San Antonio trip. HUGE tequila selection and the bartenders really know their stuff. Tequila is not just lick, slam, suck anymore. Like wine, there are many variations on how it is fermented, creating different colors and flavor profiles. The craft has truly become an art form and if you want some "education" and a great tequila "experience" this is the place for you!!! Even if you don't generally like tequila, you WILL find something here to satiate your palate. Promise. The decor is really cool also. The grandiose bar appears to be made of hand-carved wood-I think there's a story behind it (i.e., history), but I can't really remember because I think it was told to me after all of the tequila. It is really opulent-just gorgeous! If you're hungry the app menu is not bad. And, as the name suggest there is a live Mariachi band on site. They offer happy hour 3:30-6:30 M-F. Yeah, a little touristy but everyone is super nice and all just there to have FUN! Be adventurous! Try it! You'll like it!

Ambiance was great . Service was ridiculous, food was meh. Nothing impressive. Drinks also meh. Considering the long lines and the amount of people that were there on a Saturday evening you would think it was delicious, but there was nothing great about this place accept the ambiance. I wouldn't waste your money on the food. We had nachos with steak, a appetizer platter and a few drinks we waited a long time to get service and get the extra likes we requested.

Nice drinks. Nice decor. Good customer service. No reservations needed. Good mariachi music..

Morrissey hadn't graced San Antonio in over 10 years, with past cancellations and postponements haunting fans along the way. So when he finally returned, San Antonio Moz fans showed up and showed out. Despite multiple after-party options across the city, fans from Brazil, the UK, Canada, Japan, and all across the U.S. chose Bang Bang Bar as the place to be on a cold Saturday night. Hosted by local emcee Ricardo Moz and Apollo DJ, the night turned into one for the history books. Bang Bang Bar is easily one of Texas' best dive-lounge bars...the perfect blend of gritty and cozy. Great cocktail program, solid beer selection, and a vibe that just works. The décor leans heavy into a 1950s-60s lounge aesthetic, with intimate spaces like the Blue Room and Yellow Room, perfect for groups of 7-10. Low lighting, warm atmosphere, and zero pretension exactly what you want for a night like this. Bang Bang Bar consistently supports local and touring acts, spanning punk, alternative, and DJ-driven nights, and this Moz Smiths Disco was no exception. It was wall-to-wall classics all night long. Major credit to Phanie and the Bang Bang Bar management they rolled up their sleeves, brought in extra bar staff, and handled an overwhelming crowd like pros. Fans waited up to 45 minutes in the cold, with a line wrapping around the building, and the energy inside never dipped. As the host of Panic On The Streets, I'm incredibly thankful to Bang Bang Bar for helping us pull off one of the best after-parties we've done in years. Fittingly, 2026 marks the 10-year anniversary of both Bang Bang Bar and Panic On The Streets of San Antonio and what a way to celebrate. Bang Bang Bar has long been one of my favorite bars in town, and after this night, that reputation is more than earned. Drinks were AMAZING! Bartender Rob made the best Negroni I've ever had. I asked him to use whatever gin he thought best--result was an artistic smooooooth full-bodied drink. Told him when I was done I'd lick the glass if it wasn't considered so uncouth for a 'mature' lady like myself to do so Hubby's Buffalo Trace bourbon old fashioned was also outstanding. Rob was the bartender last night who did such a great job, and his work was even better tonight. We highly recommend The EsquireTavern for excellent cocktails. We love the long wood bar and high copper ceiling upstairs, but love the intimate speakeasy atmosphere downstairs even more. We'll definitely be back every time we're in San Antonio! First review, Friday night: Drinks were great (Manhattan and Bourbon Old Fashioned). REAL drinks, no complaints at all about those. And the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Those aspects of the Esquire get 5+ stars from us. But the appetizers were not good, close to inedible. It was about 8:30pm or so, so maybe they were getting ready to close out the kitchen but the chalupitas with chicken tasted like rubber, and no flavor at all. The seafood platter had something in it that was breading with shell inside, but no meat of any kind. We couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The shrimp was good and the fish was good but those other things... We'll always love the drinks, the long wooden bar, and the ambiance at the Esquire Tavern, but we'll eat somewhere else and come here for before or after dinner drinks. (See update above to this review for when we returned the next night for after dinner drinks.)
