We got takeout on a very warm night. I had the Cazuelon Dip, a cheesy dip with Chorizo, roasted poblano peppers, mushrooms. Delicious. It's easier to eat if you let it cool off just a little, otherwise it runs off of the nachos. For dinner, my wife had a vegetarian/vegan burrito and I had Cammerones Bravos (shrimp dish with nice, large shrimp, rice, salad, onions & peppers, avacado, and jalepenos). I asked for mine with avacado on the side, so I could give it to my wife). It is advertized as SPICY (in capital letters) and it is because these are not wimpy jalepenos. Perfect for someone who loves spicy food. You can customize the order on a dropdown online (which I did for the guac). Those not so into onions, jalapenos, etc, can customize that as well. It was a big meal! I also ordered refried beans on the side and was too full to touch them. I can testify from past experience, however, that they are delicious. I customized my wife's Vegan burrito as well, using the dropdown menu to exclude meat and dairy. It worked perfectly. Dinner comes with some nachos and salsa. Both delicious and, when I last checked, both home made as well. We were very satisfied and very full. I highly recommend Mariachi Do Oro for a great, filling meal. Made the drive out to Medina for an early dinner and was able to get a seat right away. We chose to sit on the large outside patio which had pleasant views of trees and greenery, a great option for warmer weather. Our cocktails were strong and very reasonably priced compared to drinks in the city. You also get free chips and salsa which were both fresh and delicious. Food came out very quickly, we ordered a trio of tacos a la diabla and tacos alambre. Both were served with picked red onions, radish slices and lime wedges. We will definitely be back to try some of the dinner entrees! What an Ordeal! We arrived at Mariacho de Oro at 8 pm on a Saturday night in Medina. We've been here 2 other times and the food was good. I was told it was under new owners now. 6 of us arrived via 2 vehicles . They would not seat anyone until we all arrived. Even though the inside restaurant was empty. Many people , full parking lot were seated on the patio. We were told immediately before being seated that for a party of 6 that we needed to pay a gratuity of 18% and NO separate bills. NO PROBLEM, this is not unusual. The inside is nice and colorful. The waitress informed us that we needed to order fast since the kitchen would not accept orders after 8:20 pm and they were closing at 9 pm. I ordered a small bowl of Sopa de pollo and Sopes with pork. It was good but pork tasted a little off for me. Hubby ordered Rib eye dinner. He didn't like the rice. 2 people had Pollo Don Gollo and really liked it. ( chicken with pineapple) Another had Tia Lola's chicken & shrimp. She liked it. Everyone was satisfied with their dinners. Plates had ample food. Then, while we were eating, they came out of the kitchen with a bucket and mop and proceeded to mop the tile floor. The odor of pine sol was so strong, you could taste it while eating. We asked them to stop. The waitress kept apologizing for rushing us. When the bill came, I was charged $1.50 more for the soup than was stated on the menu. The waitress disappeared, never to be seen to correct it. They need to sale that at a store. The spot is small, but so is the county. They had every table filled the entire time, so I assume it's a town favorite. Food overall (given by the non-vegetarian, food allergy people who were with me) was not very good. It is not authentic Mexican food at all. I asked for their menu items to be made without meat, it was a no go. Meat could not be taken "out of" any item even if I was willing to pay extra. There is not a vegetarian menu. Only two items were offered to make vegetarian. Gluten free? What's that? They do not care or offer it. They will also not offer custom drinks, even if you are able to and offer to pay extra (I asked for nothing they did not offer on menu other than taking items out). We came here in a rather large group for a friends birthday. They were able to accommodate us at one table (about 14 people). While waiting for a table we got some margaritas at the bar. The bar area is pretty small and the bar only seats about 7 or 8 people. The seats are saddles which was super charming to me but not so much for my husband. The margarita was really good! After being seated The waitress was really nice and fairly quick for having such a large table. The quesadilla I ordered was perfect. It was just chicken and cheese and nothing else which is perfect to me. They are unable to split checks but we were warned when making the reservation so we all came prepared with cash. Just ordered at Mariachi Del Oro in Medina. Ordered a Questadea and got a garbage plate. Said it was steak but it was roast beef. Looked nothing like a quesadella. John tried his, but I ordered the fajitas and sent mine back because it wasn't a Quesadella. The fajitas were roast beef, not steak and it was cold. Not sizzling like they should come. Rice and tortillas were also cold. I had asked the waitress, 3 times to leave the guacamole off the lettuce and tomatoes and it was covered with it. It took 10 minutes before the waitress came back so I could tell her I wasn't happy with the meal and took over 5 minutes to get someone to come to the table. That woman had her mind made up and was not listening. She kept saying I don't want to argue, but kept arguing with us. She said the quesadella comes with roast beef, and we continued to tell her that wasn't what the waitress told us. A quesadella is like a sandwich between 2 tortillas, grilled. These were open, greasy, filled with wet meat and smelly sauce resembling a huge open Taco. When the waitress brought it out She said these aren't like a normal quesadella. But when we asked what a surf and turf quesadella was, she said like a normal quesadella but with steak and shrimp. The girl who claimed to be the manager was rude and told us we had to pay for both the quesadella and fajitas, although neither was edible. Said we HAD TO PAY and left us at the table,, for at least 15 minutes. I called the restaurant 3 times while still in there and it went directly to voice mail. We noticed the girl across from us had ordered the surf and turf Quesadella too and had left three quarters of hers on the plate. Didn't ask to take it home. First of all these people were rude and waitresses didn't even know what was in their menu items. And they in fact contradicted each other. Because of the way they treated us we would never go there again. Not one employee understood us or was willing to make this right. My friends, on the other hand, liked theirs, so I guess mine was an anomaly. The waitress also did a great job with serving us. The green chili sauce was delicious- the meat was way over cooked and so tough I couldn't eat it. It tried a few different pieces and found one that was semi soft, the rest were super tough and hard!
