I don't love Mexican. But last night I pulled the short straw and we ended up here. I've been here before and enjoy the atmosphere. My daughters have alway suggested trying something new. We I had the Amigo special and it was Amazing. The waitress was nice and attentive. They alway are. Oh and a very Huge spicy Margarita. I was highly suggest the Amigo special. We love it here. It's a great local, affordable spot to dine in. However, I have noticed that the shredded chicken has been extra dry lately. We ordered Taquitos Mexicanos, which were not authentic at all. They were more like burritos or large Flautas. May I suggest using some dark meat chicken mixed in with the dried out chicken breasts? Staff is nice, and the homemade chips and salsa are awesome. They have a great deal if you want to sample different dishes. The thing I found weird was this is the only restaurant where a chile rellano has meat in it. You have to order the chile poblano to have the cheese in it. Chile rellano is my favorite dish and I've had it all over the US. This version is so-so. However, my husband really enjoyed all their food. I will try something different next time. Stopped over for a late lunch after taking a hike in Lockport with my mom. We were looking for a place to stop after and found this one Yelp. Both my mom and I enjoyed the food. Smaller dinning room, nicely decorated. They'd clearly been busy for lunch with potentially some bigger tables as there were two with a lot of bussing being needed when we first came in, but the staff got to it quickly. The waitstaff all seemed friendly, working with a sense of urgency to take care of guests and clean up. As for the food. My mom got a Speedy Gonzalez which was an enchilada and a taco, beef, and a side of rice. I got the Birria taco platter, which was 3 shredded beef tacos with cilantro and onion, along with the dipping broth and a side of rice and refried beans. We were both stuffed. and I am reminded once again, why I usually just get two tacos and a side of rice when I get tacos since 3 is just way too much lol. But the beef was tasty and tender, and I went home with a good amount of the rice and beans and half a taco with some sauce that I had for dinner the following night. I would definitely go again if I was in that area of Transit for some reason. read more

I've heard great things about this place and finally had the chance to try it out! Located in Lockport, it's a little far from me but I'm glad I came. The inside is absolutely adorable and super vibrant! There were cute little decorations everywhere. Since I'm not the biggest fan of cheese, I ordered the Camarones al Mojo de Ajo which is shrimp cooked in garlic sauce. It came with a guac salad, beans, rice, and tortillas. I thought the shrimps were flavored perfectly! Not bland at all with lots of garlic. Everything was delicious and the portions were big. The service was also great! They have a large menu, like a lot of mexican restaurants I've been to, so I decided to watch the dishes that were being served. The fajitas sizzled and looked wonderful, so that is what I ordered. As far as authentic Mexican food goes this place is right up there with many in the Western New York area. It presents as a "dive" but those are often the best restaurants around, it's rather small inside and the atmosphere is that of any Mexican restaurant you'll go to. I went with the Amigo Special which consisted of a burrito filled with chicken and chorizo, topped with cheese dip and burrito sauce and served with a side of rice and beans. The cheese and sauce was very tasty, not spicy. My wife tried the Fajita Burrito which was filled with sliced chicken, green peppers, onion, tomato, also topped with the cheese sauce and rice and beans. She is a big fajita fan and she enjoyed these. The complimentary chips & salsa was also good, not spicy at all. I also sampled a Pina Colada which I thoroughly enjoyed! The folks here are super friendly and nice. They will help you with your order, changing it if you need it. The food doesn't taste very authentic Mexican they have like American cheese sauces so it's sort of York/Mex. It's OK if you want just average Mexican food, that's kind of Americanized. Definitely my go to in Lockport for a filling lunch. I usually get the taco salad with chicken and I'm a huge fan of the Queso fundido!

Came here for girls night and I always love how chill it is here. They have so many food and drink options and everything is so yummy. I had the chicken fajita quesadilla and the blue margarita. Did I choose to visit Aguacates Mexican Restaurant on Sunday night? No, but I'm certainly not upset that I got the chance I eat here. I came here with a group of 8 and the staff got a table for us right away. The menu here is everything you expect from a Mexican restaurant featuring all the usual suspects and types of quesadillas, tacos, burritos, nachos, and the sides you would come to expect with them. I settled on ordering a big burrito filled with beef, cheese, and veggies and boy oh boy, it was very large and very tasty (big enough to be lunch the next day). We stopped in for a marg yesterday afternoon. It was about 2pm so it was pretty quiet inside. We were seated immediately and brought some complimentary chips and salsa. We ordered a pitcher of lime margaritas and a side of queso blanco (cheese dip). I only like the white queso so I was very happy to see this served here. It was good not great though and a little chunky. The margs were really good and they had purple salt on the rim! I'd definitely stop again. Someone told me how good the food was, so I went there to get the Mohara Frita (whole fried tilapia), and they didn't have it, so we settled for the beef taco bowls, the beef needed more seasoning, it really had no taste to it, I needed lots of salsa, hot sauce, and sour cream to eat it. I also ordered a side of cactus which was very salty and plain, when i usually order it from another Mexican restaurant it is not salty, but it is spicy with chopped onions and tomatoes, so they removed it from the bill. Let me start off by saying I never leave reviews, but I just could not hold off telling the story of my horrible dining experience here. My family dined in here on 10/18/23 for my wife's birthday. We were seated, placed our dinner order and received our appetizer (chips and salsa) without issue. When the food arrived, it was only 2 out of the five meals that were brought out. I asked for no beans with my meal, when I received my plate it was almost like there was a double order of beans on it. (Not a big deal, I just did not eat it). We waited 10 minutes later and then my wife's food was brought out. Her food was NOT what she ordered. It seemed that we could never get our waiters attention almost to the point we were being ignored. When he finally came over, my wife mentioned to the water that she received the wrong order and she wanted the order corrected. He took the food into the kitchen they poured some sauce on it and brought it back out. The food was now COLD and STILL not correct. My in laws still sat without their dinner. Another 10 minutes goes by and my mother in laws fajita comes out. It was not hot (temperature), no seasoning and no vegetables. Meanwhile, my father in law did not receive his fajita until 50 minutes after we ordered! At this point all of us had already eaten. His fajita was hot, included seasoning and vegetables. So why were two fajitas made completely different? It was pointed out to the waiter. He seemed to care less and never asked us if we wanted a new one. The only person that ever received a refill was my father in law only because when the chips and salsa were brought out, the waiter knocked a couple of chips into his drink. When it came time for the bill, it was never once offered that any part of the dinner be comped. I can assure you this birthday dinner was absolutely ruined by the incompetent staff that lack in customer service. I will NEVER return to this restaurant and will be happy to tell my HORRIBLE experience with others! read more

I ordered one chili relleno and one chili poblano to go. I looked at the bill and one was 3.85 for the poblano, 7.70 for the relleno. The menu states both are 3.85 a piece. Honestly I figured they must have given me a whole lunch option with rice n beans by mistake. Nope, just charged me double. The chili poblano was cold inside. Came in later on a Friday night and although it was fairly busy that did not have any impact on the quality of food or fantastic service. We were seated quickly to a freshly wiped down table. I always appreciate a clean table. Immediately we were given complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was so tasty! I often have an issue with the spice level but this one was perfectly mild and loaded with flavor. All the staff were attentive and seemed very upbeat and happy. Awesome atmosphere. I ordered the chicken chimichangas and was completely blown away!!! The portion size looked appropriate but it was VERY filling. So good you just have to finish your entire meal! The wife and I stopped in here the other night for a quick drink and snack. Sometimes we like to stop while out and about for a couple of margaritas and a bowl of queso and chips at whatever Mexican restaurant will have us. I haven't done a whole lot of dining out and Lockport but this is one of the better spots that I've experienced in the area (although I may be biased because Mexican food is among my favorites). The pitcher is margaritas was very reasonably priced and the queso was delicious. The queso comes in a deceptively large bowl and we had trouble finishing everything. Our server was over to the table frequently and was extremely friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. Neither of us has been here before but to me the experience was good enough to warrant a return trip. read more
